It works. That said it feels unsafe. A random woman spat on me, and I saw another woman pooping. The station is fine. The people are scary.

Just don't go there 😑
In fact, one of the most disgusting places in the world is Vienna Central Station. There is no currency exchange in the station, there are very few seats in the station and most of them are occupied by homeless people, the station is not open 24 hours on Saturdays and Sundays, so you have to rent a hotel even if you have 2-3 hours left for your train. Near the station at night there are many drunk and inadequate people and there is no police. There is a McDonald's and a cafe near the station, but they are also closed like the station, so be prepared to wait on your feet until the station opens in the morning. If you can stand the smell, you will be able to sit next to drunk people at the station. Good luck🙄

Our train was 3 hours late and we had to wait outside the station all night long, because they decided to lock the doors.
The police was sooo, but I mean sooo rude and pathetic.
What a shame for a middle-est European country.

An internacional train station like this, where people from different parts of the world arrive should have a change currency Office.

In a way I've been impressed with this new Bahnhof :)
What unfortunately is really disappointing and concerned me is that the luggage storage area has a considerable number of shortcomings. First, it is a bit way-out from the rest. But let it be. Moreover, it seems to be very popular, seen the limited amount of free lockers. But the main point is, one needs CASH money ...
In so many international places all over Europe, it already is "card only". But still, cash has its place. But, how to exchange from a slightly bigger banknote to coins? How to pay by international paycard? Not at all at Wien Hauptbahnhof :( :( :(
Checking at nearby shops to help in exchange, reveals that those shops are not able anymore. Euro 400 a day only on exchange of coins without any sales cannot be :(
So, OEBB, how about a more proper international service with installing exchange machines, like some where else in the building I found at the toilets. Big business, though ;)
In short, reason for relevant improvement, don't you think so?
Keep up the good spirit and international standards, please.

Unsafe, like many terminals. Shame for Vienna to let gropers and robbers around, of course police offices right across the street but what can you expect from accomplices.

A lot of signs and ticket machines, infotables and services. Quite a big train station.
