Located not far away from man mo temple, and hosting much of the colonial and local medical history of HK. The building is a lovely old colonial structure and rather fittingly the old pathological centre. Inside apart from the charms of the old buildings are choice elements from the museum gallery displaid. The galleries are largely thematic. There are notable displays on plague including a very realistic plague rat laboratory, vaccines and their production and a wonderful Chinese medicine shop complete with choice herbs. There is also a little garden well worth a visit, which I recall as containing medicinal herbs. There are occasional displays that are well worth attending.

Well maintained and informative about our past. Even has a garden of remembrance outside the entrance.

It's a historic building and you can feel the mood of Old Hong Kong. It's not big but it's an interesting exhibition. I feel like I'm in a hospital in the past.

A very historical and beautiful heritage building constructed in 1906.
The museum offers many exhibitions related to human biology, history about the Plague in 1894, the history and achievement of the former Pathological Institute, and display of a number of medical apparatus and Chinese medicine herbs.
They are very informative and academic. However, to my disappointment, the exhibits I would like to see were not on display. There are many items which could not be shown either because the space is insufficient.
This is my first time to this place. I wish the balcony on the second floor could be open to the public in the future.

Interesting part of history of HK. They show case the history of the Museum and details of diseases outbreak in HK.
Their exhibit down the basement is more than a little creepy especially if alone. Anyone who has watched American Horror Story: Asylum will know what I mean haha. There is also a room which you can’t enter but there’s a clear window you can peer through and see what’s inside(still not creepy?)
Adults will find it more interesting, young kids will most likely be bored out of their minds here.
It’s worth the $20HKD entry fee.

An excellent place to visit if you’re interested in history and medicine. There are many interactive devices that teach and give some quizes. There are also games that are educational and very fun to play. I played one game that makes you run and teaches you about the area.

You can learn about old chinese medicine and some old medical contraptions. The lady at the front was also very nice.

It’s not a big museum, make sure you don’t miss the hidden basement exhibit. We almost did. LOL
