I was told you have to be a member to dine here. I was invited ☺️

Food OK lar after all that hype.

Service, for a place consider for it prestige and entrance requirements 😝, the service it really bad well at least the dude attending to our table. He comes from behind and muscle his way to clear the dishes every single time. No ‘excuse me’ nothing. Typical Hong Kong hospitality?? I kinda expect that from the kopitiam type places but here!!! Oh well.

Not a big museum but process rich collection of historical pieces related to the horse racing history in Hong Kong. Partially reflected the culture of HK. Though very clean and tidy, ot might be time to update the exhibit by adding digital interactive elements which are most common in modern museum design.

The souvenir shop got quite a few tee/polo shirt options. The Chinese restaurant is nice; provides fabulous view over the race track & high quality dim sum, but it is opened for HK Jockey Club members only.

Tips: For people who is interested in horse racing and its history, it is advisable to visit around 6 on Wed, book a table in a public restaurant like Stable Bend Terrace, Adrenaline, The Gallery, or Keiba in the racecourse for dinner and enjoying the race at the same time. Yet, only age at or above 18 can enter the racecourse.

At the Happy Valley Racetrack you will find the specialty attraction called the Hong Kong Racing Museum. This is a decent (free) museum to visit and something that horse and horse racing enthusiasts will enjoy.

The museum was opened in 1996 and provides a history of horse racing in Hong Kong as well as the founding of the HK Jockey Club, Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourses.

One of the things we enjoy seeing at the HK Racing Museum are the historic images of the Happy Valley Race grounds as they where developed since being founded in 1846. It is always interesting to see an early Hong Kong during the colonial era, the 20th century Hong Kong prior to the arrival of our skyscrapers and then present day views of our modern metropolitan city with a horse track in the middle of the city. The transformation of the city and the tracks is incredible!

At the museum, you will find other highlights including; historic horses, jockeys and historic races (trophies). There is also considerable text information in regard to the HK Jockey Clubs long history of charitable contribution and role played in helping to develop a better Hong Kong.

Overall, this is a decent museum that is worth visiting if you plan to attend the races at Happy Valley or if you have done the rounds of major attractions in Hong Kong and are looking for other interesting things to do or see.

Good for people who want to understand the history of Hong Kong, you can spend almost one day to slowly read through the description and watch the video by following your own pace. Free entrance and toilets are available for each floor.
