Great museum! We got to visit mummies of Egypt this time. It has a lot of historic artefacts and so many dinosaur fossils. our son was so fascinated by all the things that he saw in the museum. It's well maintained and easy to navigate through. The shop is good too

Excellent museum. The V1 bus stops outside and picks up on it's route. The museum staff was very helpful. The artifacts and displays was outstanding. The only niggle is that it's quite dark in places and the info on the displays was small and we couldn't read it.
Also in some rooms it can get quite warm and there's only floor fans for coolness.
Toilets are clean and tidy.
The cafe was reasonably priced with delicious treats.

Finally it’s back open. Such a great museum with lots to see from animals to dinosaurs arts and mummies and everything If you want to be amazed for the day then go!

I would highly recommend buying tickets for the mummy exhibition as it’s really unique and also saves queuing for the main museum. The queues just to get in can be really long so buy your tickets in advance and you won’t be disappointed.

Great day out.

We visited here during the school holidays and have been looking forward to it. The museum itself is really easy to find. Me and my children walked through Manchester from Victoria train station. It was a nice walk so quiet because it was early in the morning.
When we got there we were welcomed really nicely and the kids had so much to see they loved every second of it. They have added a lot of additions to the museum. Since we last visited couple of years ago.
The Egyptian mummies were the best part the kids have said. It's definitely a lovely place to visit.
After being there for a couple of hours we decided to go to the museum cafe to get a light lunch. The menu was a very posh menu lol. But we are open to trying new flavours and opted for a dill pickle hummus with flat bread, and the egg sandwich baguette which was really delicious and drinks. It was an expensive "light" lunch but we thought we might experience the whole day out fully.

It's a really interesting place, with the feel of being in a proper Natural History Museum...
We really enjoyed looking at all sorts of things, I personally loved the fact that everything is organised by time, starting with ancient history to modern day. My kids loved looking at the animals, especially the live animals in the Terrarium!

My favourite place to visit with the kids. For a free day out its the place to be. The new Golden Mummy's of Egypt exhibition was great. So much to see here. We lost a full day exploring everything. Great for all ages.

First ever visit to this amazing museum, housed in a stunning example of Victorian splendor. Brilliant exhibitions, covering nature, animals, ancient Egypt, dinosaurs and most things in-between! Lots to see and beautifully presented. Perhaps more interactive elements for children and a right kerfuffle getting into mummy exhibition as needed to scan qr code and then fill in all your details, but these are just suggestions for development. Lovely picnic area and had tasty coffee from the cafe.
Biggest issue we had was parking and being directed into bus zone.
