The best coffee shop I have ever been to in my entire life!!
Got a hot vanilla latte with oat milk on a rainy day and it tasted heavenly and authentic! Also tried a rose blend strawberry flavored coffee on ice. Baristas know what they are doing and demonstrate amazing service as the staff greeted my boyfriend and I when we first walked into the shop. Art work on coffee is amazing! Their banana bread also has a nice buttery flavor.
Discovered this place on my last day in Kyoto. So sad not to have coffee as good as Goodman Roasters because I live 3 hours away from Japan and I'm always wanting to come back to their amazing shop for more coffee. I tried coffee in other places but Goodman Roasters just those caffeine cravings right.
I plan to come back here whenever I visit Kyoto.

Hidden gem in the Shimogyo Ward. My girlfriend and I discovered this beautiful coffee shop on our last day in Kyoto. Where we come from, most cafes use Arabica beans, so it’s nice to see a cafe using many different types of beans to give a wide variety of flavors. The tasting notes provided were very accurate to the flavors (we tried one that had a strawberry flavor, mixed with milk makes a delicious strawberry latte).
Service was also excellent with staff that can understand English and is very patient.
Their desserts were also amazing as we tried the chocolate chip cookie, banana bread, and carrot cake.
Overall, an excellent experience and will come back for more during our next trip to Kyoto!

I'd been by this shop a couple times at night when they were closed and thought it looked interesting, so I figured I'd make it a point to pay them a visit sometime when they were actually open.
I came here with the intention of buying a cup of coffee and a bit of cake to start the day, but after noticing that a black coffee was going to run me 1050 yen, I opted for just the coffee.
Goodman Roaster is a roomier coffee spot than most, but seating was still scarce when I arrived. It's a good thing I found a seat, though, because my black coffee took a really long time to get to me. Other parties arrived after I did, ordered, and left with their drinks before I'd gotten mine.
When my coffee did arrive, it was a pretty good cup. The tasting card promised notes of muscat, and damned if I didn't smell and taste some muscat notes in that cup. Not my favorite flavor profile, but I appreciate that the roaster and the barista were able to coax the flavors out of the beans that they advertised.
The place is a bit on the noisy side when it's full, so don't expect to have a relaxing cup of coffee while you read if it's a busy day. All in all, a coffee shop that knows what it's doing, and is doing it well.

Their coffee beans is probably one of the best I ever taste so far, good roaster and very well balance with just simple brewing techniques! However the brownie is a little disappointed, and especially the environment that too crowded (due to their location and highly rated) which is nothing wrong if you're down for a good coffee. My 4 stars for the coffee and 2 stars for the brownie!

Such a gem! 💎
Absolutely loved this coffee shop and it is one of my favourites from my trip. The espresso tonic is such a refreshing drink and the banana bread was so warm and comforting. The staff was also so friendly and the atmosphere was so cozy. They don’t have any breakfast foods but there are pastries and sweets to eat. Can’t wait to stop by again during my next trip!

Visited early in the morning and ordered a flat white which is not common in Japan. A bit pricey but it was very tasty; coffee was strong with a full body dark roast profile. Staffs and barista were friendly, greeting customers with a smile when they enter the café.

Amazing atmosphere and the BEST coffee we’ve had! The flat white and oat milk latte were both incredible. We also got the carrot cake & banana bread which were also so good! Such friendly staff and you can watch them roast the coffee there!
