KRRT is a popular trail that is often busy. The paved trail is great for all activities from walking to riding.

Beautiful trail, but there was a very rude guy on a bicycle who was yelled and cussed at my and my dog. So will not be going there again

A paved trail that extends about 7.5 miles all the way south to downtown Gardiner. It's paved the whole way, though it sometimes disappears for a bit and forces you out onto the street. It's mostly pretty flat and only has a few mild hills while it passes through the forests along the bank of the Kennebec. Lots of small streams, overlooks, benches, and wetlands along the whole trail. There are plenty of entrances and exits as it passes through the various cities as well. It's always well trafficked with people, bikes, and dogs, though it's not plowed during the winter

Nice trail for a bicycle ride or walking. Biked this 12-miler for the first time; spanning several towns from Augusta to Hallowell, Farmingdale, and ending at the Hannaford parking lot in Gardiner. Most of this Rail Trail is paved or gravel. Several spots along this trail sustained significant damage from severe windstorms this past winter. Nice views of the Kennebec River. CAUTION: this trail crosses very busy street traffic in Hallowell; several times I attempted to walk my bike across this street using the designated crosswalk and numerous drivers completely disregard yielding the crosswalk or their faces are buried in their cellphones while driving.

Nice paved trail. The views are blocked now to the river due to the trees and leaves. We went about 2 miles starting from the Augusta side. We went around 10am and it was not overly sunny. Will be back for more walks here.

Great place to walk and exercise! Right on the Kennebec River from Augusta, through Hallowell, to Gardiner. 7 miles total. Beautiful scenery, friendly hellos and a lot of cute babies and dogs! It doesn't feel like exercise at all!
