I had a very positive experience at the YMCA center. They answered my questions accurately and provided helpful guidance. However, please note that their services are only available to individuals with temporary or permanent residency, not for those with just a work permit. The location is very convenient, right next to Fine Foods, although the map shows it a bit differently. Highly recommended for anyone who meets the residency requirements

Sarah was a great help with reworking my resume. Very professional and warm. Her response rate to my email inquiries was quick and efficient. Highly recommend her if you need assistance. Reason I am not giving it 5 stars is due to reception. They need some more training as they did not seem to know what was going on.

I attended another horrendous job fair.

Why can't ymca rent a bigger venue facility. Cramming hundreds of people in one room is unacceptable.

Hate having to touch people. Unacceptable.

I was referred to Sarah McClung as my Case Manager at YMCA ,Pickering. She's a wonderful person and extremely helpful. She explained to me in detail how the employment system works in Canada. She prepped my Resume according to the Canadian Standards and I got a job by using it within a month. She keeps periodic reviews to check and discuss our status. Highly recommend visiting her and having her as your case manager in case anyone needs guidelines for getting a job.

Waited 6 hours for nothing.
Useless.
The lady at the reception let 3 persons in that came after me.
If you are really looking for help with your job search this is NOT the place to go.

The receptionist are very nice but this place did not help me to find a job. The name employment and community services should be removed from the title and changed to maybe "Pickering YMCA Job Information". I'm not really sure what the employment counsellors do. I was very was disappointed with the services. Please help the people that come to you for help by actually helping them secure a job. Thanks for looking over my resume but I need more help than that. I can look at the job banks from my computer at home or at the library. What about another big job fair? What about asking clients to fill out surveys so you can improve the services? I hate leaving a one star but I am doing this so that they can improve.

I have always had positive experiences with the YMCA Employment Center in Pickering. YMCA’s excellent and compassionate staff make you feel welcome and are always ready to help. YMCA assisted me with counselling, training, mock interview, second career services and resume writing. My Job Skills Counselor assisted me with my second career application which had a positive outcome. Staff at the YMCA Employment Center in Pickering are always courteous and helpful. I would recommend their services to anyone needing any assistance. Thank you.
