Come oooon, over hyped ! Been here 2 times, first time very disappointed and wanted to give another chance ...
Nothing is above average here, the pastries are just ... default or below default, depending on what you buy.Too oils, some undercooked, some just plain bad. Too me doesn't even look too safe to eat to be honest ... anyway...2 stars

All that hype about this ugly place and the merdenea felt like paper and wont get seperated when u bite it and so greasy

Definitely worth the hype and the queue. If you stumble upon it on a Sunday, the queue moves fast enough to try one of their famous "merdenele". The cheese filled pastry is delicious and filled to the brim unlike other spots. Takes me back to childhood.

I was really looking forward to these pastries but they disappointed. The place is way overhyped in my opinion. I got several pastries - merdenea cu brinza, pateu cu brinza, pateu cu ciuperci. The bottom was tough and chewy for all of them. The dough too oily. I grew up on those so I know they can be a lot better.

Comes in handy when in a rush or if the regular food joints are closed. A variety of salty and sweet pastry dishes, all of them fresh, from various cuisines (Romanian, Turkish, etc). If you can't find it on the spot follow the line of people that usually wait there.

Sandwiched in the corner next to a cigarette stand, it may come to a surprise to those not familiar with this bakery that this little gem is one of the most (if not THE most) popular bakeries in town! Chances are you're going to be waiting in line, but it goes fast and maybe, just maybe it's not worth all the hype, but the baked goods ARE nonetheless delicious.

Come here by chance and curious about what people are lining up for. Ask 1 guy and tell me he is for Merdenea. It's really a cheap but delicious food.
