UPDATE: additional reply to Breakwood Fishing Adventures - Your entire response is a bold face lie. We paid you $100 for the deposit and you charged us $300 when we finally exited your boat. You clearly had a mechanical issue due to hitting the rocks (and not because of some high tide). We DID NOT fish for 3 hours. Once we hit the rocks and you tried to figure out what action to take next along with us waiting to be towed back to shore, you put bait (once) on our lines and then pretty much ignored us and focused on how much your repair was going to be. Throwing a line out DOES NOT equate to FISHING. I wasn't going to even mess with a review but you ignored any email that was sent and brushed your mistake under the rug. I am not looking to hurt local companies but not only did you brush off any attempt to make the situation right or even communicate back to us, now you have doubled down on the response which full of misrepresentations about the trip. Your response clearly indicates that you knew you had a serious propeller issue - we didn't fish for 4 hours, we sat just off York's Long Sands Beach, for more that 3 hours waiting to be towed back. You made a mistake, you could have avoided the review and you chose to keep our money after putting us at risk with not looking at your depth finder. I'm not new to being on the water, but I guess you miss judged us because of our age and maybe because we were women. You're very lucky no one ended up in the water and you know it.
---------Original review below:
Besides the Captain not looking at his depth finder, he ran into rocks off Longs Sands so hard it nearly tossed 3 of our 4 passengers off the boat. He smashed his $30k propeller and that was all he could talk about, not asking us how we were. We had to call for a harbor master to tow us back to shore, and told us to try and fish while we waited. Storm was on the horizon and when we finally did make it back to shore 4 hours later, he still charged us for the charter. Not to mention wasting and hour fishing for our own bait prior to his hitting rocks.

I did follow up with him asking for a full or even partial refund based on the failed charter was due to captain error and he has never responded.

We had a change of plans and had to cancel the charter. Captain Larry was gracious and accommodated this despite it being short notice. Absolutely top notch customer service and a bummer we had to change plans. Can’t wait to rebook and get on the water with him!

Despite a slow morning, Capt Mike put in every effort into trying to get us onto fish. Near the end of the trip we did manage to hook up an above the slot striper. The conditions just weren't in our favor. As a side note, my kids had a blast catching mackerel for bait... Ok, I admit that I did too. Sometimes it's the simple things. I would definitely give them another try.

I have fished all up-and-down the Eastern seaboard from North Carolina to Maine for big Stripers and hands down the best trip I've ever been on was with Breakwood fishing adventures , captain Larry. He put me on a 47 incher 1st cast and 45" on the Lightest tackle I have ever caught a big fish on I highly recommended Larry and breakwood fishing adventures If you are truly looking for a world class fish Book the trip

Breakwood Fishing Adventures is the real deal! Captain Larry knows where the cows are and how to catch them. His winning combination of knowledge, passion and dedication make him one of the best out there on the high seas, plus he's a great guy and a pleasure to spend time with.

My wife and I went out with Larry today and had a blast. He was on time and there was plenty of parking at the marina. Larry is a very friendly guy and is super knowledgeable about the local area. As expected, he found the action and got us on the fish. Also, my wife was pleasantly surprised that he had a bathroom onboard. Will definitely be booking again with him this season.

Hands down the best fishing experience I’ve ever had. The knowledge base, understanding of Maine’s unique waters and ability to put you on fish is second to none. You’re not dealing with a student of fishing in the North East, you’re dealing with the professor. Not only is he a through and through pro, but he’s a great guy and you’ll want to go out for a few cold ones with him afterward. Unreal. Can’t wait to book our next trip. 🤙
