Occasion Cakes

Brilliant place if you want a cake for any occasion. This is my second time placing a cake order. My first one was my wedding cake. My second one was a cake for my son who was leaving for university. It was a surprise for him, and he absolutely loved it. I was also so impressed. They made just how I wanted it. It was a chocolate cake, and it tasted amazing. I would definitely recommend this place

Not impressed. We ordered a cake from here for my fathers retirement. We were recommended to come here by a relative. My wife went to the first visit and was asked about a list of things she wanted on the cake. She told them the things she would like on the cake. We originally wanted three buses on the cake with each being from different companies he had worked for. They said three buses wouldn't fit, so she said it would be nice to have at least pictures of the other buses on the side of the cake going around. From here no suggestions, enthusiasm or guidance was given about what would look good or not on the cake e.g. colour schemes or design ideas. No creativity was displayed or offered. No examples of what they have done in the past or what they could do. Being a professional cake shop you would at least expect this, in the same way a kitchen outlet would design a kitchen for you by having a discussion it maybe drawing something out for you especially since you are paying so much money.

We got a call on the day of the party. When my wife saw the cake she was not happy. They made a nice bus on top made completely from icing. They didn't add my fathers name on the bus as agreed, instead just the date. They didn't stick a plaque on the cake as agreed and instead they just leaned it on the cake. They didn't add the pictures of the buses on the side even though my wife sent them the pictures. They just added a big logo of diamond buses which we didn't ask for. The top of the cake was completely plain on top and this didn't seem to bother them. I had to request that they add something on top like a road and bushes to make it seem busier. All this happened near closing time so we didn't even have that much time to play with.

We felt like they didn't show any interest in making our cake and didn't recognise how important it was to us. We were very disappointed in their efforts although in the end the cake was presentable it was not as good as we would have expected for £120 and the experience was not pleasant and stressful. We will not be ordering from here again.

I can’t rate Occasion Cakes highly enough for them helping me out this weekend, I needed a 90th birthday cake within 2 hours of a party starting and they pulled out all the stops to make this happen. Thank you so much

I would recommend this place to everyone. When i went to collect and saw the cake i was blown away. It was 100 x better than i had expected. Such a lovely bunch of staff too. I literally gave them the order 10 days prior and without any hassle they got the job done. Everyone that saw the cake was absolutely amazed.

Great cakes made by the talented and hardworking Occasion Cakes over the last few years, including the most recent Overwatch cake this month! Each cake appears to have been made with great care and taste/tasted fantastic. Great quality and quantity. I find not being too specific and picky, and just letting them be creative seems to get me and my partner great results every time.

Occasion cakes did our son & daughters christening cake and wow how amazing! We discussed our theme of Peter rabbit and the girls came up with a bespoke design that we loved! We’ve been loyal customers for years having got our wedding cake and numerous birthday cakes over the years and they never disappoint.
