The New Union

If you just want a room with a bed you can pass out in, in a decent location, then this might be for you. I'm afraid I demand a bit more nowadays and would either stay in a Travelodge or Premier Inn instead. Think carefully about what you really want before booking. It's a busy part of town, and it's a pub. If you don't mind the sounds and smells that you'd imagine would go with those things, fair play, this might suit you.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday night out! Amazing drag performance and great staff, we only wanted to pop in for a short while and before you knew it we stayed until 4 am

Visited new union tonight. An elderly relative was having a medical episode and the door staff just simply DID NOT CARE. At first I was physically holding her up and managed to get her to a lamp post where I asked the doorman for assistance to get me a chair so that she could sit down and he refused. Wouldn’t allow us to get a chair outside because it’s a “public area” and wouldn’t allow a chair outside because it’s a “smoking area”. When I got my friends outside to help me, I again asked for a chair and he said to ask the manager. At that point I just ran back in and got the first stool I saw myself (such a chore!) they refused us re entry to get her some water. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ll be reporting you and I’ll never be visiting your venue again! The doorman in question will be getting karma coming his way. Your have a duty of care and health and safety of your patrons and simply did not care!

had an absolutely amazing time. loved it. drinks are fairly cheap, taste good, free shots, amazing show, fab crowd work. deals with hecklers really well. loved it! thank you!!!

Nothing short of amazing.
The show starts at midnight and had us (two straight men) hooked until the end two hours later. There's audience participation just enough to have you worried.
Professionals at what they do, truly.

I had amazing time last night the staff were grate doorman are good staff and managers I like the club lot and I'm looking forward to going there soon and I would recommend this place to people I was bit drunk and I wasn't allowed in with my friend but I hope to be able to go back again soon

Gosh this is still going.. wow! I was coming here in the early 90s.
I walked in and nothing has changed apart from the introduction of plastic over glasses. Though I could understand this as a night here in the day usually got quite messy and maybe it still does. I mean do people still dance and have fun... apparently they do because on the day I was here there was a Sparkle event and indeed there was dancing.
I did throw in a few moves for old times sake ( I ached on Sunday).
I got talking to quite a few nice couples as well, very friendly. I've been away from the scene for over 20 years but because of circumstances, it looks like I may be in the village a little more often.
I would visit again...just to dance, drink and watch the acts if nothing else. 👍
