The Heart of Midlothian Mosaic in Edinburgh is a fascinating piece of history. It's a must-see when exploring the Royal Mile. The tradition of spitting on the heart for good luck adds a unique touch to the experience. Highly recommend stopping by to learn about its significance and take part in the local tradition!
It’s also worth searching for the origins of this tradition, fascinating story!!

This little historical spot is not well marked, but can be located using your phone map on the Royal Mile just outside St. Giles cathedral. The Heart of Midlothian mosaic was the gate to The Old Tolbooth prison where many execusions were carried out in the late 1700s. Due to the history you will see the Heart being spat on.
