Didn't get to go inside cos it was closed but open? Like I was able to enter the building but the rude security guard needs to be replaced :(

So my wife and I decided to go to the Walters for a date in our anniversary last Saturday. We had both been years before, like 20 years in fact. I remember it being laid out very nicely and having a large ancient artifacts collection.

Obviously the displays were different but the walk ability and amazing collections did not disappoint. My wife was especially captivated by “Mery” the mummy in the Egyptian section. I think my favorite piece was a fertility figurine dating from 5000bc! It was the oldest piece in the museum.

The house attached is a beautiful side area that is truly architecture as art. Gorgeous mouldings and stairs.

We walked around for 5.5 hours and had an amazing time.

A must visit in Baltimore. Very educational and fun at the same time.

This stunning museum was amazingly FREE to enter and perfect for wandering on my own during a short weekend trip. They have a coat, umbrella check as well as amenities such as maps (showing 3 floors on view), and a small area on the first floor to purchase coffee and snacks. The location of the museum is close enough to walk to other downtown shops and restaurants.

You’ll enjoy a wide variety of objects and a majority of rooms are interactive for children.

Small well curated museum with very knowledgeable friendly staff. Take your time. Worthy of multiple visits since admission is free.

Another great place to visit when you find yourself in downtown Baltimore. Check out the religious paintings, including that by Raphael. Entrance is free, and it's worth a second or more visits.
