What an interesting sculpture of a wild man covered in leaves and foliage. This sculpture and fountain have been in place since the 17th century and was used to keep fish alive at the market. Its a great place for a photo. Don't miss the pickles nearby.

A very beautiful statue on the fountain which was used as an "aquarium" for the fish sold at the fish market.

The Wilde Mann fountain is a fountain just opposite Furtwänglerpark of the University of Salzburg. The fountain figure represents a "wild man", and "dressed" in leaves. The wild man stands at attention is holds in his right hand a large branch in the manner of a spear. In his left hand, he holds a shield bearing the Salzburg city coat of arms.

It's a odd choice of subject matter for a fountain and for that I'm giving it an extra star.
