The service station used to be alright, however on this latest visit, the disabled lift was out of order. The service station was dirty. I ordered drinks from Costa with the intention of sitting in. I asked for proper mugs but was told I couldn't have them and had to have a paper cup. Only to look around to see bins over flowing, floor and tables dirty with proper cups that needed clearing. The staff at costa were working as hard as they could it just felt there was not enough people to keep on top of the rubbish for a busy weekend lunch time service. To add further there was a poster to give costa feedback on the costa website, however because the costa was at a service station the location wasn't found! I had to clear a table in order to use it. Very disappointed

The urinals here in the mensroom have no partial dividers, and are quite close to each other. Would not recommend.

Disabled lift access constantly blocked access to the toilets is blocked with coin operated machines creating people bumping into each other trapped air in the whole building the place definitely needs better management improvement probably hiring Extra staff to cope with the busy times of the day.

I can honestly say I have never smelt something as bad as this place. The smell from the toilets is literally horrendous genuinely worse than a farm yard. Me and my family stopped here on the way back to Nottingham from the Lake District just for a quick toilet stop and after that experience in the toilet i genuinely wish we’d have just carried on driving and hadn’t stopped. How people are meant to consume food or enjoy a respite in the proximity of these toilets is beyond me. Please sort this out.

Ok brutal honesty alert. As a rule British service stations are necessary evils and you won't be hard pressed to find ones on a par with Knutsford. Externally - tiny. Parking - chaotic when busy. Internally - quite fetid. Saving grace is the upstairs M&S. Do a hit and run and get back on the road PDQ!

Out of the big three on this stretch of the M6 – Keele, Sandbach and Knutsford – I had always previously thought Sandbach, with it’s 1960’s bridge of terror, to be the worst.
Having now reacquainted myself with the sheer delight that is Knutsford Services, however, I find myself re-evaluating that opinion.
What an unpleasant Services this one is – it clearly started life as one of the classic overbridge services, with café etc above the motorway – time has not been kind. This one has grown like topsy, with the addition of cluttered little buildings and concessions scattered around at either entrance. Entering from the southbound side alone, you encounter some sort of pasty shop around which you must dodge, just dumped in the pathway, and then the ground floor bit itself has sprouted a Burger King and a Costa, alongside the ubiquitous WHSmith.
The toilets here managed to achieve the trifecta of awfulness – badly located, broken and tiny. Squirreled away to the left, beyond Burger King, this is the smallest provision I’ve come across to date – on this occasion made worse by the fact all the urinals were out of service. Sad and inadequate for a major motorway services.
WHSmith here is a prime example of its type – large, but somehow not selling much of any worth and in need of a refurbishment. No self-service tills here, but plenty of giant handwarmers should you need one… in July.
Definitely one to avoid – if your journey offers you a choice, Keele is the clear winner of these three on the M6…. If you must go here, then good luck..🤞
