As a frequent visitor to Collingwood I’ve been on the hunt for a “home away from home” course. After a round at Duntroon, I decided to give Cranberry the old college try. Here are some noticeable features from my first and only visit; the first of what I hope to be many more. (October 2024)
From a player’s perspective, the conditions of the course were great. Well maintained greens and tee decks with properly hydrated fairways made for an enjoyable round. Only complaints were that the driving range was pretty chewed up, and the construction on the course interrupted the flow of the game a bit.
Originally a Tom McBroom course, the club has opted to make significant changes to the routing of the course to accommodate condo developments. Personally, I found that the routing changes aren’t exactly intuitive to the golfer, but worse, the GPS data of the course hasn’t been updated. This led to me relying on my group’s knowledge of the course to determine how to play certain shots.
Playing from the white tees, I felt that the layout of the course was equally challenging as it was rewarding. A considerable amount of blind tee shots, protected greens, and risk-reward shots definitely contribute to the character of the course. Additionally, relatively wide fairways with trouble on both sides creates the need for tee-shots that consistently find the fairway.
Overall, I had a very positive experience at Cranberry Golf Course. Price was reasonable, conditions were great, and the challenge of the course will have me coming back.

The course was difficult but fun to play. The staff were all so kind, helpful and understanding. It was our first time playing here while visiting for a few days and we definitely would come back for the service alone!

I recommend not going to this patch ! I am ashamed of my self for even going! The holes don’t match up! You have no idea where you’re playing no clue what hole ! No half way house ! Kart girl didn’t come till hole 14 ! For 121 dollars it’s robbery they should be ashamed of them selves! I wish I could turn back time and make my self not go and save my self the shame of going

We just ate there, but we watched people golfing it looks like a good course. Beautiful views looking at mountains in background

Went once and used the driving range in casual clothes, no issues. Went again today and they turned me done for not being dressed right. I‘ve never been turned away anywhere else for not having a golf shirt on just to use the range. Silly attitude for a public range imo, won‘t be coming back.
