Looking from the outside I might not have gone in without knowing about it first. But don’t let that put you off! Inside it’s an old school pub with a good selection of drink and the food was really good.

Unfortunately not even a zero rating would do justice to our experience, more like -5! I grew up in the area albeit many years ago and have very fond memories of all the places around the hotel including the hotel. We had a business back then that provided produce to the pub and had a great relationship. We a.friend suggested we go their I was really looking forward to getting back to the area and reliving my early days. Unfortunately the experience was horrible. It started off well as my friends were already there with drinks on the table. An hour reminiscing went by quickly and time to order, that engage with staff. Now that didn't go well at all. Went to the bar to order their signature pie, mash and pies, 4 PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME, and pent the next 51 minutes waiting to be served!!! Not sure about everyone else but this really isn't acceptable especially when staff made no effort to hurry when serving customers. They to serve all their local customers at other locations around there bar rather than the first customers. By the.ti.e we ordered, there we at least another 10 people behind us. I understand when a business favours its repeat local customers but since the place wasn't busy, thought they be interested in getting new customers but not to be. The food is for another post! Reliving this experience is enough for one day and.suffice to say I will never be going to the Unicorn Hotel in Paddington ever again. Such a shame because in the day, you had to queue for ages just to get in the place!!! Bring back those days...

Love this place. Heard about their steak which is even better Monday night and it’s fantastic. Staff behind the bar are wonderful and the steak was perfect. They also offer different sides if you want a break from chips. Cool vibe, great food, lovely people.

Came for the schnitty and the pie but didn't get past the tasty snacks! Super filling and really tasty and perfect with a cold pint. The IPA was pouring really nicely and the stuffed chicken wings were a hit but the highlight was the eggplant dip which was super value for money and the pickle plate that came with it was jam packed with tasty veg! Only note on the snacks would be the French Onion and Jatz could have a little more French Onion punch!

The Aussie tunes and the classics pub vibes were perfect place to start the Saturday night

A Saturday afternoon in March was a slow day here but that was fine; there were some people playing pool, a family group having lunch, a first date couple and me. It looks like a very local kind of place which was cool and the burger was okay, as was the cider and I rested my feet, so it met all of my needs.

Had lunch on Saturday.
We enjoyed the food but not the wait.

Waited 15min for beer and lemon lime bitters (2 groups in front ordering 4 drinks).
Waited 51min for the food and had to remind the staff that we've been waiting too long before the schitty came out.

Wonderful gem 💎 of a spot. Great food, large venue and reasonable prices (in a very pricey neighborhood!). Conveniently located to the SCG and Allianz stadiums. 🏏🏉

❗ Don't miss the lovely courtyard, just head downstairs and it's out the back.

🍔 Went with a group, friends had delish burgers and I had an amazing eggplant dip and pickle platter (I'm vegetarian). Kiddo had the standard pub kid menu fare.

🍺 Nice drink selection, fair bit on tap.

🐶 Dog friendly

Friendly staff, conveniently located to any public transport on Oxford St. 🚘 Parking a bit tricky as most city street parking can be.
