Highly Reviewed Malatang in Gold Coast

Atmosphere and Service;
The service is good, and the staff are quite helpful. The location is convenient and easily accessible from the Gold Coast Light Rail.

Food;
The food selection is somewhat limited, with a few sections often empty. Soup base options and extras are also limited. If you prefer chicken or avoid other meats, your choices will be very limited. That said, their stir-fry and mushroom soup base are quite enjoyable though.

It wasn’t a bad experience overall, but the limited food options could be improved.

Extremely easy to navigate and server was very helpful. Good choice of food options even at 9:30pm! Very delicious and the Tom yum soup was perfect. Highly recommend!

The price is very reasonable. The taste is spot-on, with a rich, flavorful broth that’s perfectly spiced and customizable to your liking. What sets this place apart is the variety of options for filling your soup—there are plenty of choices for meats, veggies, and toppings, allowing you to create the perfect combination every time. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular, Fire Panda offers a delicious and satisfying experience without breaking the bank!

I have tried Malatang for the first time.
I wanted to try it because of the interesting system.

I was wondering if I could dish up the portion that I can finish.
I picked some veggies, fish cakes, meat, and 2 types of noodles, and it was 430g.
The portion was great for me, who eats the same portion as regular women.

I wanted to try Signature Malatang so chose Szechuan spicy soup (level 2).
I was a bit worried about “Chinese spicy soup” which made me imagine it as very spicy, however, the staff suggested me if I was not sure I should go for level 2or 3, and if I felt less spicy I could add chili sauce later on.

Next to the counter, there is a sauce station that has some kinds of sauce to help ourselves.
His advice was perfect!
The spiciness was just right for me and I liked it more when I added “sesame sause” from the sauce station.

The price for a 430g with Szechuan Spicy Soup is $16.93 when paying by card, which includes a 1.5% surcharge.

I think I should come back soon to create my favorite taste.
It was very interesting experience.

We came about 11:45am on Monday, they haven’t opened for long, but lots of the selections were half empty, 4 rolls of lamb left, only minimum seasonings left/didn’t fill up, couldn’t tell for sure.
Flavor was good, we had mushroom soup, the soup was tasty. Service was standard, you pick your own and pay to get them cooked at the counter.
In all, average for everything.

I recently discovered my absolute favorite Malatang spot right next to the Southport tram stop! I've tried so many, but this one tops them all. Their Szechuan soup base is so tasty, everything is fresh and the prices are reasonable. The gentleman who served me was friendly and kept the restaurant very clean. I would recommend to everyone !
