Highly Reviewed Malatang in Gold Coast

Atmosphere and Service;
The service is good, and the staff are quite helpful. The location is convenient and easily accessible from the Gold Coast Light Rail.

Food;
The food selection is somewhat limited, with a few sections often empty. Soup base options and extras are also limited. If you prefer chicken or avoid other meats, your choices will be very limited. That said, their stir-fry and mushroom soup base are quite enjoyable though.

It wasn’t a bad experience overall, but the limited food options could be improved.

Extremely easy to navigate and server was very helpful. Good choice of food options even at 9:30pm! Very delicious and the Tom yum soup was perfect. Highly recommend!
The price is very reasonable. The taste is spot-on, with a rich, flavorful broth that’s perfectly spiced and customizable to your liking. What sets this place apart is the variety of options for filling your soup—there are plenty of choices for meats, veggies, and toppings, allowing you to create the perfect combination every time. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular, Fire Panda offers a delicious and satisfying experience without breaking the bank!

I have tried Malatang for the first time.
I wanted to try it because of the interesting system.

I was wondering if I could dish up the portion that I can finish.
I picked some veggies, fish cakes, meat, and 2 types of noodles, and it was 430g.
The portion was great for me, who eats the same portion as regular women.

I wanted to try Signature Malatang so chose Szechuan spicy soup (level 2).
I was a bit worried about “Chinese spicy soup” which made me imagine it as very spicy, however, the staff suggested me if I was not sure I should go for level 2or 3, and if I felt less spicy I could add chili sauce later on.

Next to the counter, there is a sauce station that has some kinds of sauce to help ourselves.
His advice was perfect!
The spiciness was just right for me and I liked it more when I added “sesame sause” from the sauce station.

The price for a 430g with Szechuan Spicy Soup is $16.93 when paying by card, which includes a 1.5% surcharge.

I think I should come back soon to create my favorite taste.
It was very interesting experience.
Deliciously spicy and utterly addictive, this Malatang spot brings authentic flavors to life! Each bowl is a perfect mix of fresh ingredients and bold, customizable spice levels that warm from the inside out. Fast service, a lively atmosphere, and unbeatable flavor make this a must-try for any hotpot lover

We came about 11:45am on Monday, they haven’t opened for long, but lots of the selections were half empty, 4 rolls of lamb left, only minimum seasonings left/didn’t fill up, couldn’t tell for sure.
Flavor was good, we had mushroom soup, the soup was tasty. Service was standard, you pick your own and pay to get them cooked at the counter.
In all, average for everything.

I recently discovered my absolute favorite Malatang spot right next to the Southport tram stop! I've tried so many, but this one tops them all. Their Szechuan soup base is so tasty, everything is fresh and the prices are reasonable. The gentleman who served me was friendly and kept the restaurant very clean. I would recommend to everyone !

favourite malatang cuisine!!! service is amazing! gentleman at the front told us we’re welcome to have more soup if we run out as we got such a big bowl ❤️ felt cared for as he refilled ingredients and ensured everything was stocked and filled. prices are amazing!! massive bowl shared between two for $60, plus leftovers for lunch the next day. szechuan is our absolute favourite, flavours are amazing, most amazing heart warming soup base, and comes boiling hot!! can’t express my love for this place 🥰 will always be a favourite.

This food is AMAZING and great value for money! I ordered through DoorDash and requested no egg + shrimp and one of the staff called me to check if I wanted oyster sauce (which I didn’t!) such thoughtful staff that is amazing service. Will be coming here a lot more often.

Appalling behaviour by the older gentleman cook. He clearly wasn’t in the mood to cook when I happened to walk in just after lunch. Completely ignored me even after saying hello. After ordering I noticed I had been overcharged and when I was refunded the difference that’s when fridge doors were slammed very loudly, tongs being bashed against the counter and clearly angry while using the wok. A very uncomfortable experience. Unfortunately cannot rate food as I walked out while it was still being prepared.

Best Laksa I've had in a long while, great price, great portion, rich, delicious and generous with the meat. Carrots were a lot nicer than anywhere else I've tried too. Not exactly dine in style but I always get take out anyway, prefer good food over a pretty store front any day. First time customer, so if their other dishes are as good I highly recommend.

They had crispy noodles. That was enough to bring me joy. We had them add chili to the Mongolian Beef and it was perfect. We shared that as it had noodles mixed in it. Two spring rolls, prawn crackers, two drinks and it was $29. No public holiday charge. Must go.

I ordered the satay and mongolian beef noodles. These were the best noodles I have tasted. The noodles were hot, fresh, and rich in flavour. They were not dry, they didn't stick together and they were coated in sauce. I highly recommend this place. 5/5
As you walk, it's just a little takeaway place, there's tables and chairs available. The chef's English isn't great, but he tries. Is friendly. The combination omelette is $16.90 with rice in a separate container, and it's full to the lid. My picture isn't great as I'm trying to eat this delicious lunch in the car.

Wow, authentic Thai cuisine with the actual Thai Street hawker feel combined with modern interior aesthetics. Truly one of the best spots in town for Thai food.

Soi 38 has some really excellent Thai dishes worthy of its higher price range.
I went on a Wednesday night with in a group of 4 and about 2/3 of the tables were dined. We order a number of dishes to try and share as a group and didn’t really hold back.

Grilled beef skewers were good but otherwise standard.
Sago peanut dumplings were nice but in our opinion the gelatinous dumpling layer could have been a bit thinner or more filling to balance the ratio of dumpling skin to filling.
Papaya salad was great and embodied all the sweet, salty, sour, and spicy flavours. Nice and refreshing.

The pork jowl salad is one of the dishes I recommend to get if you don’t mind eating pork fat. Very tasty and well seasoned.
The pad Thai chicken is another recommended dish and one of the best pad Thai’s I’ve had. A good level of spicy and although pictures look like just a regular pad Thai it is far from it. Mix all the ingredients in and $30 may seem like a bit much but it was well worth it.
The bbq chicken is also recommended dish and had a great sauce to on the plate to dip in. You get a whole chicken so a good one to share.

The green curry with beef was not a good dish. The beef was very dry and tough. The curry barely had any flavour.
The sticky rice was also rather dry but otherwise edible.

We also had one of the desserts. The sticky date pudding but we swapped the cinnamon sorbet for coconut sorbet. It was nice and sweet in contrast to the dinner. I personally would have liked if the sorbet scoop was bigger.

Overall would go again to try the other dishes given that the hit/miss rate is well in favour of good.

Really enjoyed eating here. The setting is very pretty, the food was beautifully presented, and the service was excellent.

Everything on the menu sounded delicious, and I look forward to going back to try more! An excellent wine and cocktail list too. My only complaint is the Spicy Margarita I ordered came out in a tumbler, and looked like it could have been a lemon squash (along with the straw in it)! They redeemed themselves with the next cocktail, called Night Market, which was gorgeous (and yum!).

Contemporary Thai cuisine in a modern space, with friendly and responsive front of house. The food was delightful in plating, size and taste. Worthy competition for the likes of Golden Boy and Von Thai.

Excellent service! We went there yesterday to have my mum's birthday dinner. All the staff members were so friendly, made us feel welcome. Food was absolutely delicious, good portions and reasonable prices as well. Thank you so much for making our day special. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Was expecting an amazing aray of food and service but didn't hit the mark. Staff almost like going through the motions, and although the portions were generous, the food was tasty but nothing special. Asked to leave to make way for another seating. Had the Tour Of Thailand menu option, spent $600 for 5 people ..... corkage was extortion at $35 a bottle. Enough said

Seeing a lot of recommendations for this venue on the Internet I thought of giving it a try. I had the expectation to be surprised but ended up being disappointed.

We ordered the Coconut lime Daiquiri which was good. And blue swimmer crab on the betel leaf which was good in presentation but lacked the taste of crab in it. And for mains, We've ordered Pad Thai and a pork curry with steamed rice. To be honest, it was the first time that I had a pad thai that sweet, it was overpowering. If I hadn't requested the extra chilli while ordering, I would have stopped eating it. And the pork had no flavour, it was more like pulled pork in a curry. The portions are too small. It was not worth since their prices are too expensive. I have had better Thai food than this here in Adelaide.

This restaurant is more like Thai fine dining, that's their concept. I don't know what kind of a crowd do they target because that ain't real Thai food for me. Truly it wasn't worth the money spent. Had the feeling of "should have dined somewhere else"!

Fresh. Hot. Delicious.

Over 50 options to choose from at Tasty Noodle with an extensive range of both noodle and rice dishes.

Prices range $11.90-$16.90

Garlic Chicken with seasonal vegetables and rice - massive servings of stir fried chicken, onion, carrot, capsicum, broccoli, cauliflower and corn

Prawn omelette - egg omelette had 6 prawns and had lots of sauce

Also got a tub of crispy noodles, because they always add a bit of texture and crunch to the dishes.

Servings are quite large and usually do me for dinner and lunch the next day.

Big thanks for the complimentary prawn crackers.

Ordered thru Uber eats (07072020).
Sweet and sour beef with rice and wonton noodle soup.
Portion size was generous for all dishes ordered. I'm disappointed with sweet and sour beef as felt not all were beef. Wonton soup was delicious but a little salty and slightly oily for my liking.
