We only had to wait because we arrived at about 15 after and tours happen on the hour. It was perfect for us as it gave us time to walk out to (and tour) the graveyard and back leisurely. Our tour guide, Bryce, was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the family, the grounds, and the history of the area. It's not far off the interstate and definitely worth the trip.

Cute place to visit. Small but lots of variety. Main house was shut.

Great place for a field trip for the kids to the educated about the Scottish family Moores and how life was lived in the revolutionary. Here in the Carolinas. Morgan was an excellent tour guide.

I recently visited Walnut Grove Plantation with my husband and my mother. There was only one other couple there at the time we went (11AM), which was nice for us as we hate crowds! We really enjoyed the experience. Lots of things to photograph, which is always a plus for us.
Our guide, Paula, was very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the history of the plantation. She has all of this info ingrained in her memory! She was open to questions and general conversation as we moved from structure to structure.
If you are going, please wear good walking shoes as there is a lot of bare ground and in some places, fairly high steps up or down. Wear your sunscreen, and maybe some bug repellant, too!
There is a small gift shop and nice clean restrooms in the building where you enter and exit at the front. They do take credit cards.

A must visit! We are both history buffs so we throughly enjoyed the tour but even more so the conversations after with the wonderful staff and volunteers. I was amazed at the abundance of knowledge and love for the state of SC they have. We will be celebrating my birthday there during the hot air balloon and kite festival.

Deep history of the area with a tour of the home and other buildings. This historic home dates back to the American Revolution period. A must see for history buffs and children will find some amazing things to learn.

We’ve been to several events at Walnut Grove Plantation and have enjoyed everyone! Their Festifall event is my favorite! Be sure to buy your tickets in advance to make sure you gain entry! If you come to an event in the summer be sure to bring lawn chairs, bug spray, and sunscreen! SC is hot in the summer!

If you enjoy learning and exploring history then this place is for you. Bring a camera because there is a lot to see. The tour guides are very knowledge and after taking you around you are free to walk and explore. Be sure to walk down to the family graveyard where there is no less then 176 people buried.
