Huge waves

We wanted to go to the beach today but we were not allowed to go swim due the official sign from 30.08.2024. There is also a sign that rockfall can happen. So just be careful at this spot

One of the best beaches of the island. There are not a lot of people who go there ( but the parking is really limited too, so you could have some problems to find it) and the view is amazing. The waves are always quite big and strong, but swimming inside is a fun activity ( beware of the sea current).
There is a shower but no bathrooms or changing rooms.
Even if the area is really windy, the beach is protected, so you won't be cold.

We visited multiple beaches on Madeira and I personally liked this one the most. It was wild and waves were strong, so we haven’t dared to go into the water. Still worth visiting even just for a peak.

Gorgeous location, black sand beach just by the mountain, Hawaiian vibes. Worth to stop.

One of the best wild beaches on Madeira. Easily accessable by car or better short hike from Porto da Cruz bay area. Be ware!!! We spotted a number of Portugese Man'O'war jelly fishes washed ashore on 28th March 2021. Looks like plastic waste bags, do not touch under any circumstance. Watch your kids not to play with these. Watch for falling stones off the nearby cliff; do not stay near it. In stormy or swelly ocean conditions do not go bathing or close to water. A surprise wave set can catch you or children and drag into the strong rip current. It might get impossibly hard getting back ashore.

Beautiful beach with restaurants nearby in the village. It is a favourite with surfers.
