Close to the Met Museum of Art and worth a quick visit to see if you are walking through central park.

So bear with me here, this statue is a group of bears, not one, not two but THREE bears! TRUELY phenomenal, I can hardly bear it.

Small and simple little display, lots of seating to take a break from the heat or rest your feet.

Nice place to sit and relax in the shade. I love the bears. They are adorable.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Lewis Miller Design covered the three bears (mother and her two cubs) with flowers. Whenever I go to the Met I always love to stop and say hello to the bears and today was extra special. Thank you Lewis for the flowers. Live video of this new scene is available on my Facebook page 🔥 @mickmicknyc

The 'Group of Bears' bronze sculpture just south of the MET at 79th Street and 5th Ave. in the Ruth and Arthur Smadbeck-Heckscher East Playground area is interesting to see before or after visiting the museum.

The sculpture is cast of the Paul Manship original bronze from 1932 and was erected here in 1989. It is similar to but more playful than the Manship 1963 bronze cast situated within the MET.

The Group of Bears is a child-friendly monument, similar to the nearby Hans Christian Anderson and Alice and Wonderland sculptures. Thus children are welcome to touch and climb upon.

There are park benches surrounding the Group of Bears so this can be a good place to take a quick rest of feet while your little ones enjoy the playground and the sculpture. Then move on with other intended sightseeing around Central Park and Museum Mile.
