I was thrilled to get to know my elderly sister's caregiver—an energetic, competent, lively, resourceful woman who anticipates needs and then fulfills them. We started with the minimum hours per week, and I saw how my sister thrived with this stellar home care and companionship. When her condition began to deteriorate, we increased care hours to five days a week, and her caregiver was responsive and essential not only to my sister's increasing needs, but to my own ease in knowing she was well taken care of, and that the home would be spotless. Her caregiver stepped up to the plate and accompanied my sister when she was hospitalized and I was out of town, and communicated with me frequently. This caregiver was a reliable (and funny) member of our team, and she often made suggestions that only improved the quality, and safety, of my sister's life. Another reason Georgetown Home Care worked for us was the easy availability of a replacement when our caregiver was on vacation.

I have been using GHC for elder care support for my father since my mother passed 18 months ago. His care needs have changed as he's adjusted from being a grieving widower, caring for an ailing wife, to a patient himself experiencing health issues of his own. I cannot say enough good things about GHC as a caregiving agency! Our caregivers have made all the difference for my family's peace of mind and my dad's quality of life. We've had wonderful relationships with his primary caregiver and have been able to add hours and staffing as his needs have changed. The office staff is creative, professional and responsive in working with us to design solutions that meet his evolving needs. But, the biggest thing has been the quality of the care my dad has received on a day-to-day basis. He's had companionship, support and true compassion. As I cannot be there all the time, our caregivers have been a valuable source with observing changes in patterns. Approaching 96 years old, I can say that GHC has helped my dad get the most of his time, live with dignity and be able to stay in his home, as per his own wishes. That is priceless!

On short notice, Jennifer Fitzgerald set me up for 24 hours of care after outpatient surgery. The daytime caregiver, Nefertiti, arrived at the surgery location during my procedure and then drove me carefully home in my own car. She cared for me until 8 pm when she was replaced by Nardos who stayed with me through the night 'til 8 am the next morning.
I wholeheartedly recommend Georgetown Home Care for the compassion, ease of communication and scheduling with Jennifer, and recommend without reservation both Nefertiti and Nardos.

Due to a life changing medical situation on Aug 18th 2021, I spent 15 days in a local DC hospital.

The caregivers are well trained and compassionate, and they really made a big difference in a safe return home for a friend that I was assisting.
