Oct 2023 Glad to see Honeywell still supports the community and sponsors kids from around the world to attend the leadership camp. Honeywell is forging the way of the future!

It's one of the most amazing sites to visit!! Safe and secure site. As well as the Botanical Gardens are breath taking! Hot today in Alabama 99 degrees!!

Family space camp was everything we hoped it would be. It’s rare to leave a spot and have all three kids (ages 8, 10, 13) say how much they loved a place. The bunk beds aren’t the most comfortable but it’s camp. So if you can bring a thin blow up pad for a sleeping bag do it. 100% worth the money for the experience. The cafeteria food was good although they always ran out of the salad bar. I’m gluten free and they always had an option for me.

pretty nice, although the bedrooms are pretty bad, and there are not many options for people with diet restrictions the food there is pretty good and the people there are friendly and welcoming i’ve gone there for 3 years now coming up on my 4th here in a couple of weeks and the counselors are always lovely, just what really kinda made me mad was that when going to the man made lake as an activity they made the girls wear long shorts and a t shirt whenever swimming while the boys were allowed just to wear their normal swim trunks, maybe it’s because i’m from MN and it’s not really a normal thing for women to have to wear a full on outfit over their one piece bathing suits but it really irritates me so it ruins the whole activity but besides that one activity that always is so irritating , the rest is pretty fun, the missions are cool and the rides are so fun!! I do definitely think there’s many things that they can improve for sure with the amount of money they get from the admission fees (with it being $3,000+ per person)but overall it’s nice

My 11 year old is there now and is telling me he hates it. There are probably about 30 kids in bunks in one tiny room and he said that the door to the room is kept open at night, which allows for the light to shine in and keep the kids up. He said the counselors sit outside the room and talk, which makes it even harder to sleep. The mattresses are plastic covered and thin and he said the room is hot. He just finished day two and said they have done nothing but walk around and talk about stuff so far. No activities, nothing. When you’re paying this much for camp, you’d think they would have more fun things planned for the kids to do.

We waited in line for about a hour to get checked in, which is crazy. This is not the camp I remembered having during my childhood. Needless to say, he won’t be back.

Upon arrival we were met by a small room which stank of bo. There were cockroaches and warnings left on the ceiling by previous campers. The sleeping situation was not much better either, the mattresses were torn and it was like sleeping on a slab of rock and the bed frames were being held together by zip ties. There is a foot high gap in all the room doors which is especially inconvenient at night, as the hall lights are left on. The food was alright, however it is not very vegetarian/vegan/special diet friendly. One night we had hamburgers, and the veggie burger station was being used to stack the plates for the hamburgers, so the only option for me was salad which I ate for dinner every
night. But other than that the food wasn't too bad. All the staff were really nice especially our counselor Kelly who was great. The activities were fun, but the day is around twelve hours. However you do get to visit the museum after and before regular opening and closing, which is cool because you get the whole place to yourself. The rides are also really fun, and I would recommend trying those. Overall, the experience wasn't too bad and I'm glad I went. (Although I'm never going back.)
