I love it around here. It's one of my happy places.
It's a nice bridge to look at and the views off it are amazing seeing all the boats when I was coming to Cornwall in the 70s with my parents it was free to cross and in the 90s with my own kid it was free now it's free to get into Cornwall and get ripped off coming out of Cornwall I think 2.90 a rip off for one way it should be 1.00 each way for any vehicle but me I will just use the A30 if they put a toll on that I will just stop going to Cornwall
Easy on the train. Good views all along the coast to Dawlish
Really poor crossing times throughout the whole of summer or during business hours. At times up to an hours wait, not great for the local crossers given how much we keep the bridge going for everyone else.
The architecture is wonderful, but the lane management is dreadful. Can often take 40 minutes to get across. Between not having all booths open, people still paying cash & often having the wrong direction for the middle lane. It becomes a headache. The lane studs have been broken for about two years now, too!
A brilliant view whether your on the train or bus or driving along! Would recommend a nice visit to Cornwall!
Sounds weird giving a bridge 5 stars, but if you drive through Saltash and head down the incredibly steep street to the riverside it is beautiful. We live fairly local, so our family treat every few weeks is to get McDonalds just off the A38 and eat it by the riverside under the bridge. There is a playground down there for the kids and it's very picturesque.
