The entire store has a sick, fishy smell. Food is overpriced. They need to be open 24/7 due to their great location. The sub-section has to be fast, clean, and cheap. Security guards need to be professional. Self-checkouts need to be managed to increase profit. Use an iPad to speed the checkouts. Better parking generates more customers. They do seem to have this heightened sensitivity to customers presence, as if I were going to steal something. They should run more promotions. In short, this location needs an ambassador from a successful Harris Tetter location to change it with a few ideas and an open concept.

This is the worst Harris teeter I’ve ever been too. They have almost nothing outside of food. They have 3 types of body wash for men, no Zum sprays , and its layout is the most confusing and lack luster design I’ve ever seen. I’ve NEVER seen anyone upstairs for the wine . This whole story needs to be redesigned or remodeled because it’s a hot mess. The staff is fine , the space is TERRIBLE. Please for the love of any god and the people who live in uptown PLEASE help this store out

Jacob was very nice .He made great tasting sandwiches. Niqua as soon as I stood in line told me to get on the other side however she said nothing to the guy who had walked in which happened to stand in the same spot..The lady at customer service with the braids walked away from the customer service desk when we brought our items up, however she did offer to help.

Two stars for convenience, having it's own parking, a decent variety of items, and being pretty well stocked on all the staples. Otherwise, this Harris teeter is a disaster. ALWAYS check expiration dates on fresh/refrigerated foods. The packaged meat section is the worst offender... I went yesterday and all the organic ground beef had expired a WEEK ago. This happens all the time at this location, along with moldy produce and old canned goods. There are a few nice and helpful employees, but most hate being there and you can tell.

This is a neighborhood store that caters to simple essentials/groceries needed. Does have a seafood/meat department. All check out lanes are self served just for references purposes. Parking can be somewhat limited in the parking garage as its shared with other businesses.

It’s hard to understate the visceral contempt I feel for this particular location. It’s not the parking, which is a disaster.. It’s not the limited selection, which is annoying. It’s not the gum chomping checkout attendants who literally can’t be bothered when your self checkout station needs an associate. That’s standard almost everywhere. It’s mostly just deli counter. Counter attendants mostly come across like it’s their first day on the job, and judging by the number of new faces, it probably is. There is one counter attendant in particular who really earns the one star for this because he’s been there for a while. In a typical Harris Teeter, I would have expected management to have weeded him out long ago, but not this location. (I’m not even sure management exists here.) This guy will take his time making his way over to help you, even though you’ve made direct eye contact and it’s clearly his post. Before acknowledging you, he’ll fumble with the scale or meat slicer, maybe the block of cheese he left out after the last customer he begrudgingly had to serve. His ineptness is staggering but pales in comparison to his lack of work ethic.

I have lived and worked in uptown for about 10 years and I shop here primarily out of a lack of options. Whole Foods isn’t really my thing and a 20 min walk while this location is across the street. I have long resisted writing a negative review viewing them as mostly an exercise in self righteousness, today’s experience with the aforementioned deli attendant pushed me over the edge. It’s not worth the details. I imagine that anyone reading this either shops there or works for Harris Teeter’s reputation management dept and therefor knows the particular employee I’m referring to and can relate to the sentiment without the boring details of today’s worthless interaction which resulted in me, having walked to the store for a lb of fresh sliced deli meat, walking home completely empty handed. (Not by choice)

In the 19 years I have shopped this location, I’ve left annoyed ( and even angry) at the ineptitude more times than I can possibly fathom. Today stood out as a new low.
