Well, I imagine a bit something else. We ordered 1 simple tapas and 2 fishes: one fish they forgot to bring, the other (lubina) was raw in one part. The desert however was amazing: lemon tart and apply pie. At 9 PM the restaurant was full and super noisy. The decor is basic, but I guess people come for food. One time is enough for me.

I was surprised that the tapas dishes were quite small for the price and a few things that should have been hot, arrived warm. Overall, many dishes ordered were sweetened by sauces or flavours. It was an interesting experience, but not one I imagine myself repeating.

Service and food absolutely the best. Lovely family run restaurant. Miquel creates amazing flavours and combinations of the best quality food and his team expertly deliver them. A wide tapas menu for sharing. Worth the wait to book a table. Better than Michelin experiences I have had. No pomp, just a great atmosphere, no tourists either because of the waiting time. We are booking another date today, Next time, I will leave out the dessert as far too large. Maybe a smaller option for one would be good. My fault I ate because it was there¡ all the food was wonderful, but my recommendation would be the ceviche.

Magnificent food.

Excellent portions.

Hospitable service.

Quaint locale.

Be sure to book a table weeks in advance.

The food is just a tad below a star in the guide in my opinion.
Some dishes are however on par with a star, but not all not trying out the restaurant during your stay in Denia would still be a mistake.

The menues are in spanish, but the waiters are happy to help you out translating.

Best food I've ever eaten in a restaurant for 15 years, better in fact than several Michelin star ones I tried in several countries including my native France ;) Dishes are original but the flavours really work together, it's obvious they are not trying to throw weird ingredients together for the sake of it, but instead putting a lot of effort to make all dishes taste orgasmically good (we had 5 dishes and all were out of this world, don't think you can go wrong randomly picking any from the menu)! PLUS the price is that of a normal restaurant, the atmosphere is querky and homely, and humble. No stuffy upper class rituals, owners and staff are smiley, casual, responsive. That may also influence who comes in the restaurant: friendly crowd and not overwhelmed by tourists ! The presentation of the food is creative, fun but the portions of normal size so you get to really taste the amazing flavours. The homemade Vermouths are pretty special too (loved the bitter orange). We had to book 3 months in advance because the locals KNOW just how good it is, now we do too! Thank you El Baret for this unforgettable experience.
