This was the best dining experience I’ve ever had! I’ve never felt such a high level of care given to every part of the meal at any other restaurant. Thank you so much to the chef and staff for making our evening truly so so special. I’ll be dreaming about this sushi for months. We’ll be back!

Chef Mitsu is incredibly talented and remarkably skilled, the omakase was fantastic. All the fish was very high quality and served beautifully.
The room itself was incredibly cozy and the service was outstanding too.
Highly recommended.

Super traditional omakase. Only place in U.S. that I've had alfonsino. Generous nigiri portions. No mucking around with overpowering garnishes. Each piece lets the fish flavour shine through. Each course feels perfectly paced. Not too fast, not too slow.
Overall a fantastic experience and worth the price.

Went for dinner on a Tuesday night at 8pm. Every seat at the 10-seat sushi counter was taken. It’s a minimalistic space with four employees- the hostess, the waitress, the sushi chef and his helper. The service was fantastic and we were greeted warmly with big smiles.
The chef here is a true professional and it’s a one man show similar to omakase restaurants in Japan. I loved the omakase here because even though it was pricey ($200 for 12 courses), the sushi truly spoke for itself.
Unlike other omakase spots in NYC, that puts all sorts of toppings and frills onto each piece (like wagyu on top of toro on top of caviar and gold flakes), each and every piece here spoke for itself. There was no need to add all these bells and whistles. Very fresh, very high quality.
The RICE was incredibly seasoned, and just perfect sushi rice, and the size of each piece shows why this place is true “omakase”. Especially how they instruct you to enjoy the sushi. You can tell this is a classic and it was very well worth the visit!!!

AMAZING!! Came here for the dinner omakase and was absolutely blown away. The Hokkaido uni was the star of the show for me but every piece was delicious. Mitzu is very knowledgeable and skilled at his craft. One thing to note is that they do not have a handicap accessible entrance. The entrance is underground and you need to go down a flight of stairs. There is no elevator.

My boyfriend took me here for the 12 piece Omakase. I would say this was a more traditional sushi experience with fresh, beautifully cut pieces of sashimi over deliciously seasoned sushi rice. Each item was unique and we tried quite a few fish we had never had as sushi before. The food was amazing and we absolutely loved every piece we got. We especially loved the Nodoguro and the Hotate.
The chef is very friendly and talkative and has quite the personality, which we found to be different from other traditional omakase places. He was very knowledgeable about Japan and sushi and gave us tips to enjoying the sushi better and how sushi is traditionally eaten. Pro tip: get tea when you eat sushi and take sips of your tea between pieces of sushi to cleanse your palette - there is no ginger offered between courses here.
The restaurant is an intimate 8-seat bar where you face the chef and are directly served by him. He serves each pair in turn as you advance through the meal. The meal ended up being about 1.5 hours long.

The best traditional Omakase experience that I have been to in NYC! Chef Mitsu is a true master of his craft and he makes sure that the sushi is the star of the show. The setting of this restaurant is traditional and very intimate. I enjoy that there are no gimmicks or bells & whistles to this place. It's simply you, the chef, and incredible sushi. The customer service by the team is also very good. You can tell the team tries very hard to make sure that you enjoy every small detail of your experience. This place is quite popular so I definitely recommend booking a reservation in advance. Also, I would encourage you to try any of their beers. These are not your typical Japanese beers that you find at your local sushi spot.
