Good wee castle to visit. Head down the path through a tunnel of trees and end up at St Peters seminary.

You’ll need wellies to trek to this spot when it’s been wet. 16th century tower house losing its battle against nature whom is trying to reclaim it.

Sadly when we visited large portions of this old castle was graffitied.

A ruined medieval castle currently being reclaimed by nature just north of Cardross, Argyll and Bute.

It's situated close to St. Peter's seminary (now derelict and in state of disrepair) hidden in the woods of Kilmahew Glen.

No one knows who built it but it's believed to have been a member of the Napier clan in the late 13th century.

This is easy to miss, especially if you're intending to visit the seminary without knowing there are other builds in same woods.

It's definitely worth walking out here to come and find this place. Woods are lovely and fun to explore without any worry of getting lost.
Beautiful old building.

The walk to the castle is very relaxing and quiet. The path is muddy in places but well maintained. You pass the pond on the way to the castle. When you get there there isn't much to see, 1 room and that's all. The view is really nice when you look out towards the mountains and the river.

Beautiful view over Cardross and astonishing history but disappointed to see graffiti.
