A very long walk from our international arrival gate to passport control. That was fast, though. The. A long wait for baggage. And since we were travelling on, we had to recheck our bags. LATAM continues to demonstrate horrible customer service (since my first flight with them in 2016). There was only a single attendant at baggage recheck, the self service was offline, and she had to put new luggage check bands on even though my bags were checked through to La Serena from my Seattle departure.

No bars or restaurants to sit at between 22:00 and the morning. It's supposed to be International airport, not the village hole... People arrive or go to different time zones and cannot relax here. Very far from high standard airports. There are also limitions, you cannot have a beer just like that, it have to be a proper hour and a meal to go with it...

The currency exchange on arrival is a rip off. They wanted EUR 3-4 service charge on top of their obscenely ridiculous exchange rate. Published rates for EUR:CLP is 980 and they quoted 780. The only ATM is Santander and the machine wanted CLP 7000 for foreign withdrawals. I walked away. Best way to get into the city centre is TransVIP- CLP 8100 to get into any location in the city centre in a shared van and they accept foreign credit cards for a CLP400 fee. Turn right for their booth from the exit.
