You can purchase an all day parking pass (good for 24 hours) or hourly. Probably gets much busier during weekends (beach valley ball?, boating) but weekday visit presented a moment for a peaceful stop by the water. There are a couple spots to eat if you’re hungry as well. I recommend The Hive ground floor of AMLI buildings just up the street; it’s is organic and offers vegetarian options.
Decent place to put in a kayak for the marina but beware there is lots of stingrays! Like you basically cant walk there without stepping on one...
There is a parking lot that is something like 5 bucks an hour hour you can easily find street parking nearby and walk over.
They do rent equipment but at $40/hour you might as well just go buy your own kayak from Costco for like $100
The best part of going to this beach is all the good seafood nearby. Yes there are some really overpriced and silly places like the warehouse but this is also one of the only places in LA you can get an SF style crab sandwich. If you haven't had one, just know it's better than any lobster roll you've ever had

This beach was close to our hotel. It was quiet on a weekend. Very relaxing. Dog friendly beach. Shelter for picnic, playground, volleyball.
This beach was nice. My girls loved the play ground as well. We all had a great time. The only thing didn't like was the portapoty
It's okay when the ocean water is not contaminated because when it is the sand is black with dark tar I guess it was but love that when it's clean, it is nice also love that if you don't go into the water the have a playground for the kids 😍👍
love this beach!!! so family friendly and very calm compared to other beaches. crowded even on an overcast day but everyone is so friendly. would highly recommend!
Pretty place. I liked the morning walk around it with breakfast from the local Bagel place down the street. They had a rowing team practicing, too.
Farmers market right there too! On Saturday mornings. Awesome organic local fruit.
