The campground is very spacious with mature trees and has a nice area for dish washing and screens on bathrooms door which keeps out bugs, we attended a ranger program here at night which was a short walk from the campground. We had electric at our site. Definitely would recommend this campground very private and clean

Peaceful well maintained campground in Acadia National Park. Sites, roads and bathrooms were all in good condition.

Check in was quick, you get a sticker to put on your car. There was a sign saying the office closes at 5, so if you're arriving late I'm not sure exactly how the process works.

Bathrooms were very clean, however no shower facilities. Campground was quiet overall. There are a few trails you can hike to out of the campground without needing to drive.

This is a good campground choice if you're booking last minute, as it's about an hour from the main park area so more likely to have openings. Overall this is probably the most secluded campground option in Acadia, but is still very clean and well maintained.

Wonderful! Beautiful campground, clean bathrooms, private sites! Only thing that would make it better is showers. I took what I could get as far as sites, so I ended up with an RV site and it didn't have any room on the grass for a tent. We had to put our tent right on the gravel driveway, which wasn't ideal, but at least it fit. From the campground, we were able to hop right on the bike paths and bike around the whole peninsula, which was my favorite experience in Acadia.

Great hiking trail. Very clean.. restrooms attended to daily, very well kept up. No showers. Sites are clean.. fire pits.. open..good sun. Lot of rocks, if your tenting make sure you bring appropriate stakes for the ground. Very quite!

Schoodic Woods has to be in our top 3 list of favorite campgrounds. We stayed on site B32 which is a spacious pull-through, perfect for our 37 foot trailer. Many of the sites in B loop are big rig-friendly and all offer plenty of privacy and nature views. The facilities are clean (note that there are bathrooms but no showers or laundry facilities.) It’s quiet and the staff have been nothing short of amazing. My son loved the Owl program run by Ranger Brooke and the whole family has loved walking around the beautiful campground. The Schoodic peninsula is the quiet, less touristy part of Acadia and we’ve enjoyed every minute of our adventures here.

You can’t say enough good things about this campground. The rangers are extremely helpful and friendly. The B loop has huge pull thru sites with electric and water- extremely quiet. The sites offer excellent privacy and from walking around it seems that the whole campground is the same way. Close to Winter Harbor and Schoodic Point. This is the quiet side of the area, if you don’t like crowds and lots of people- come here. You can drive to Bar Harbor or take a ferry ride over there and be rid of the bulk of the tourists. Be aware there are no showers available so you need to make plans to dump if you are here for an extended stay.

Sites are well separated by trees and undergrowth. Our site (A41) had taller trees and was at least partially shaded (hard to tell, as it rained the entire time). Many sites were open overhead. The restrooms were clean, and the buildings they were in were beautiful. No showers or hot water, but a place to wash dishes, dump food scraps, recycling, and trash. There is also a dump station for RVs.

It's about 45-ish minutes to get to the rest of Acadia, but it's a nice drive. The town of Winter Harbor is quaint and a fun little place to walk around. This was a great get-away from the chaos of too many people, like in Bar Harbor and lots of places along Park Loop Rd. Definitely the best of the 3 campgrounds.
