A very pleasant museum, the history is very clear and of great importance as a faithful witness to the evolution of Germany. Highly recommended!

It's a free and impressive museum showing as the people lived in the times of comunist Germany.

Such an eye opening experience on how people lived under Russian rule. It was unbelievable how every part of their lives were monitored.

Brilliant museum tucked away in the Kulturbrauerei. Free entry and absolutely full of fascinating displays, photos and items about living the in DR, in which this building was a factory during that time.I especially loved the Trabant tent. Nice shop with the cheapest prices of any where I went, get a mini Trabant model here for much less than anywhere else.

Amazing small museum with many interactive elements. Lose your self in the DDR for an hour or so. A comprehensive look at all aspects of life in East Germany from a people point of view.
And its free!

Free and very informative museum located in Kulturbrauerei! Visually it is really nice and gives us a lot of information about life in East Germany during the cold war. I advise you to do the visit with the audio guide available on your phone simply by scanning the QR code at the entrance, it is available in several languages. Moreover, the reception staff is very nice. This is a museum to do if you have 1h30 to spare!

Fascinating insight into the daily lives of citizens living under the Communist regime of East Germany. Grocery shopping, life in a Commie block high rise, how they went on vacation…these are the mundane pieces of history we don’t often see in the books. Plenty of exhibits with descriptions in German and English. I arrived an hour before close and the staff were professional and helpful. Free entry so stop by if you get the chance.
