The service was really bad. The gentleman and the older lady were plain rude when we called them and they were clearly operating over their capacity, because everything took a very long time.

I had lunch here with a friend a few days ago. The last time I was here must have been 25 years ago. It hasn't changed much, if at all. The world and Munich, though, have changed a lot over the past 25 years. It's 2023 now, get a card machine and start taking card payments. The 1970s called and want their cash register back.
Also, breakfast. The menu is basically the same as 25 years ago. Trouble is, I'm not. Where are the vegan options? The same goes for the main menu. Although the daily specials menu did feature some dishes that could have been vegan, the regular menu essentially only offers salads and a bread with sliced tomatoes.
I salute the café for providing a constant in a changing city. It's still a lovely place to come for a coffee and to read a book or the paper, but that's about it. When we stepped out into the sunshine of Haidhausen what remained was a lingering feeling of lost opportunity mixed with a little sadness.

I was surprised to read such good reviews of this place. The backyard is indeed quite nice and seating outside is quiet & there is shade (good for 30 degrees).
However, the food & drink was rather mediocre and took a long time to arrive. We came for brunch and had a cheese platter and yogurt with fruits. The bread was dry, the cheese was bland and the fruit was not very fresh (though it was a hot day so maybe just out for too long). The service was incredibly nice, but forgot part of our drink order.
Overall I don’t think I will come back.

Lovely cafe tucked away in a courtyard but clearly signposted from the street. The English breakfast has baguette instead of toast but the marmalade is genuinely marmalade in the English sense (slightly bitter as it should be in the context of claiming to be part of an English breakfast) not sweet orange jam / Marmelade... 😜 The Hof is peaceful on a sunny day and there is comfortable indoor seating too.

Got here just as they opened on a monday morning, ordered the English breakfast and it was great.

Such a peaceful place for breakfast or coffee. The musli bowl was the best I’ve had in a while!

A very nice cafe for catching up with friends. With background music that isn't so loud and comfortable, we can catch up without so much noise in the background. Dimmed and very nice lamps and decor by the way. For protocoll in early 2022, we need to show our Vaccine card and Ausweis (2G).

The ppl are nice, and they answer questions politely. Will coming back when I'm strolling near Ostbahnhof.
