La Cocina de El Sereno

Nopales con costillas de puerco (cuctus with pork riblets)were delicious. Rice was fluffing and had a good flavor. Agua de pepino was perfectly sweet and refreshing. The chile relleno was a bit too greasy. I would suggest trying the tamale (of corn) de elote. I bought it unheated to steam at home.

My kids and I love their food. Everything is delicious and fresh. I love their carrots and jalapeños just wish they wouldn’t charge extra for those.

They serve great food at a decent price, it's not that cheap but also not that expensive. you do have to wait a bit for your food to be made if there is a long line of customers but it's not a long wait time vs other restaurants I have been to that make Mexican food.

parking is available right next to the restaurant from their own private parking lot to free street parking without a meter! I've been to places where you have to pay for parking just about everywhere in the city just to be able to get some lunch. They accept cash, debit and credit cards, visa Master cards, etc. They have some of the BEST Aguas Frescas, I love their mixed fruit one and the pineapple water. I highly recommend this place to you if you are ever in the El Sereno area. I live in Highland Park and come here just to grab some lunch.

It’s a decent place. I like my torta more than gorditas. The meat seems a bit overly salty.

Gorditas de chicharron seco are fire.. my daughter had the tacos mixtos and they were so good too. The workers seem like they're unhappy working there but to each their own.

This place is one of the food landmarks that everyone should try. Their famous Gordita with carnitas meat is our favorite and highly recommend. They have a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner foods to choose from. Portion sizes are hefty and you will be satisfied at the end of your meal. The choices of Aguas frescas are extensive and each one is a home run in our opinion. They also have a great snack menu ranging from fruit to tosti-ocos and if you don’t know what that is. Try it! We come here all the time and the location is not far from where we live. If you’re from out of town they do speak English and Spanish here only to our knowledge. They have restrooms still available for use and they use safe procedures in every aspect of their business.
