A nice place to eat but quite expensive. Understandably, given the location. But, a good resupply point for AT hikers. A nice gift shop. They even have nice gas pumps!! Gas wasn't too much more than any other place. The park Rangers, especially the very kind, friendly, welcoming gentleman at the south entrance point, we're all very knowledgeable and professional.
Excellent visitor center with super friendly & informative rangers & staff. Clean restrooms. A lot of information and cool trivia is available here. Plenty of parking. Decent gift shop exists here as well with nice magnets, stickers and whatever other merchandise that you might want.
The employees were really helpful finding a hike for us to go on and was very knowledgeable of the roads nearby. Bathroom was a bit humid and stunk a little but it’s okay. Very nice visitor center, some cool stuff to look at. Theatre was cool also!
Wonderful stop on the Blue Ridge parkway. You can get your NPS passport stamp here and earn a Junior Ranger badge. The rangers were so nice and knowledgeable! My son really enjoyed the hands-on exhibits!
Wow what a challenge but views are amazing. Went March 19 to 23. The NC ride is harder than Virginia. Parts are closed check their website for info. The visitor centers are closed except the one in Asheville. Not many washrooms this time of year.
Very impressive! This was a great place to stop and check out. Clean restrooms and very informative, as they had much on display; from wildlife to hillbilly stuff. There are people who will talk to you about the local area and about the parkway in general. They had a theater where you could sit and learn about the area too.
Fantastic!, Fantastic!, Fantastic! Do not skip this place before stopping by to see and get information from a Park Ranger. Stop rods and trails were closed. There were warnings even about Bears. But guess what we saw a Bear in the middle of the road that scurrying off into the wood line. Wow! That was excitement for the family. They now had a Bear Story! Ha! Ha! Be sure to like and follow...thank you.
Great to be there.
Suggest to visit before you travel on Blue Ridge parkway becuase some part of road it 's closed.
Had to stop here after driving through 200 miles of the Parkway! Great information desk, lots of stuff to read about the history of the Parkway. Good stuff in the giftshop as well. Be sure to grab the map and free guides! They're really helpful
Located on-site with the Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters. This visitor center is a must stop as you adventure along one of America's greatest road systems! What makes it special is that it gives you a wonderful look into the history of the Parkway and people of Appalachia. There's also a gift shop. Be careful in there because it's easy to spend a bunch of money. If you find yourself in that situation, justify it by telling yourself, "I'm supporting Parks." :-) Also, there are Park Rangers all around, which makes it a lot of fun for kids.

Adventure awaits! Be safe, have fun, and support the Parks!
So much educational information and a staff that can tell you exactly what trail best suits your needs. I've never "needed" to stop because i know the parkway fairly well, but this was a fun put stop and has a great gift shop too!
I think it would also be a great place to bring kids for a day of learning!
Great stop for a quick hike. Can connect to Folk Arts Center and mountains 🏔️ to sea 🌊 trail as well. Clean bathrooms at info center. Water fountains also.
Excellent visitor center! Great for kids and adults. Lots of information about the parkway, beautiful interior architecture, nice gift shop, helpful rangers, maps and really cool hands on displays for kids/adults! A worthwhile stop!
