This post office is hit or miss. It’s literally across from my house and I hate going there. If that lady from India is there because she is one of the rudest person she never wants to help you and likes to talk loud and make you feel like an idiot.
This is the second time I came to do a passport and she returns me because she already had enough people and she does not put under consideration that we having to leave work and take the kid out of school to come do this. We were there at 9:10 for God sake.
my package has been stuck at this location for over a week now. Either somebody stole it or one of your workers lost it I’m the receiver of this package and I’m writing this review from Florida right now because it’s been stuck at this distribution center for over a week. If somebody would love to comment back and please help me out here by all means, but I highly doubt I’ll be receiving this package. Thank you UPS workers you guys are doing such a lovely job. 🙄🙄
Why do grocery store staff get to post a sign saying envelopes only? This post box is USPS property. This post box is for the people in our community. Can the post master please contact this grocery store Harter House in Springfield Mo? I’m definitely never shopping here again; I called last month the post master said the staff are not allowed to put up this sign? I’m not even allowed to put a plastic envelope because the staff want paper envelopes letters only?
I called multiple times about a package not delivered. No one answers the phone. I can't leave a number less than 1. They deserve a "0".
Not a fan. Why would a rep of the usps try to tell me tracking is wrong and that it's only an automated calculated shipping and not accurate. My package has been lost for almost a week in Springfield but instead of helping me out, they claim the last scan was in Kansas city. When clearly it shows it's in Springfield somewhere for the past week. I've received numerous other packages since
Went in person to pick up package, couldn't until it was delivered unless I wanted to pay for "package intercept." Okay, reasonable, on me for not doing my research. Employee tells me I can do it now, so I do, and then I pay $30 for the package intercept, even though i've already PAID for the package and shipping. Get back in line after doing it, then the manager says we can't get it to me as it's already been shipped out to the next dist center. I couldn't even get a refund. Not only does USPS make it intentionally difficult for someone to get their package, the employees will make you spend an additional $30, then be wrong, have you waste $30, unable to offer a refund. What a joke
Go in person and did a change of address and a month later they still haven't done it. Everyone else in the house got theirs processed, but mine magically disappeared. Great job guys. You guys are doing a great job lol...
I'm with peaceful Streets projects Canada we hear that this post office was terrible with customer service and change of addresses that are not being done putting people of domestic violence at risk we are coming to do a full audit and hold you accountable we tried to contact via phone with no success

They didn't deliver my package due to a gate being locked.... considering I don't have a gate my mailbox is in a mailbox ROOM that is unlocked 24/7...
Apparently is closed on Sundays, yet will accept your package on Sunday and just not give it to you.
Tired of things being closed on Sundays, not all of us are religious. We have lives that don't stop for your imaginary sky daddy.
I went to drop off my eBay package and a letter . Didn't have any problems with the eBay package. But they tried to charge me 4$ for a letter in a regular envelope with four pieces of paper. Then when I asked for the manager she was very rude and I would hate to say this about our united states postal workers but she made me feel as if she were literally making fun of me with the other worker. I didn't catch her name but she was the manager and the other worker was Richard. I left in tears. To try and charge me four dollars for a regular envelope with four pieces of paper in it and then to tell me they will reject it if I try and send it through there system. And on top of that to stand there in front of all the other customers and make fun of me. I do not recommend this postal service to anyone. I know it all sounds very petty but I'm a sensitive person and for u to make me feel like no matter what I'm going to have to pay for dollars for what should only be sixty cents isn't right. Truly insulated my intelligence and defaced my character in front of the other customers. If I had the number to report them to their boss I would in a heartbeat so if anyone could help me with that I'd appreciate it.
Tracking said my package was delivered. I have a ring cam on both of my doors. It wasn't delivered. USPS said the local post office will call me in 2-3 days. Not acceptable.

Ever since I've lived within this post office's district, I never get my mail.

Every one of my packages have gone missing or returned from USPS specifically, even when I have an Amazon FedEx or USPS delivery sitting on my porch the same day, at the same exact time that they claim to have tried to deliver, so it's not someone stealing them.

I've had plenty of days where I sit on my front porch waiting for my package because I don't believe that they're even attempting to deliver it and have confirmed that there's no mail person that comes through this street half the time (my street is very small with only five houses located in town) and I'll get a notification that there was an attempt to deliver the mail when no such attempt occurred.

Consistently our mail handler will not even scan our package into their system at the start of the day (or any other time) to show that it's out for delivery. So how can you notify me that there was an attempt to deliver when it was never even updated that it was out for delivery in the first place?

Almost immediately after being notified that it failed to deliver I'll get another notification that it's being sent back to the sender, with no hold whatsoever, thus not allowing me to even go pick it up half the time.
I've gotten lucky on a few occasions and been able to rush to the post office to go pick them up the very next day but if I'm unable to meet that window of the next day I can pretty much consider it gone.

This time it's the last straw because I am leaving for my father's funeral and needed some things for the funeral and I sat on my porch waiting for them to deliver it, giving up a ton of my time to do that. The Amazon portion was delivered by Amazon but the USPS package was delayed so I waited on my porch another day and it was never delivered and I did not see a postal worker on my street that entire day either. After it failed to deliver I called the office several times to no answer since I am unable to drive to the post office for the next few days.

They also never deliver really important mail like my driver's license/birth certificate, and just completely lose them apparently because when I go to the facility they claim to have no idea what I'm talking about and then are very condescending about it.

Every now and then I just get a random piece of mail from some random person I've never heard of before (no it's not "or current residents" just random people, I know the rules) so I know there must be some sort of mail presence just not doing their job.

Aside from this, I have professional history with the USPS so I will be contacting the postmaster about this branch because whoever is supervising this specific branch obviously has no idea how to manage their workers.

This is just unacceptable.
Lately this station has improve a lot, the line move faster and the station looks clean, stock and organized. The Clerks that work there mostly during the afternoon are really friendly and well imformed.
It's amazing how badly the service, people, etc have greatly went down hill!! You can't talk to a human when you call, everyone passes the buck when you ask question ir do nothing!! No wonder people turn to other means of shipping! Any type of Company definitely need to rethink using usps expespeially with time sensitive products!!!! 5 DAY DELIVERY FOR 1ST CLASS IS NOW been 10!!!! Daily is no better 4 or 5 days no mail then tons!!! Always a month Late pretty much , Bit hey I got my water bill from 2017....news Flash it's late!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr
I'm angry they continue to ignore the parking situation here. the lot is full zero spaces and yet the post office is completely empty. the government can't manage to designate parking for the post office only? and the old Asian lady in there has really angered me several times in the last 2 years. First of all she has the nerve to act like she doesn't speak English sometimes. Secondly when you walk in and there is no one there except her she still won't acknowledge you, speak to you, show any form of customer service as if she was getting paid to be there. Why do you let this lady be the main person helping customers? I sell items online and 95% of the time I use the drop box and never even need to speak to anyone but when I do it's always awful customer service for my basic needs. if I need to drop a large item that doesn't fit I want a receipt that I dropped it off. The lady gives you a dirty look for the fact she has to scan and print a receipt for you.. come on!!!
Taking their sweet sweet time to waste as much of my time waiting for package processing. If they promise you 3 days, expect the package in 4 1/2 days.

Impossible to call and get ahold of someone. The only thing the USPS is good at is being unavailable and making sure packages don’t get delivered. I hope all the people who work in any capacity for this organization have the worst day of their lives each and every day that they grace the earth with their inabilities to do simple tasks.
The clerk literally made me cry. I’m a young girl, have never been to the post office and was just asking for help and she treated me like I was an idiot. I’ve never been spoken to like that, I couldn’t see or find a pen to label my envelope & she talked horribly to me and told me I could go back through the line with my baby, when she could’ve just gave me her own while she was ringing me up. I wouldn’t even be so upset if she had just spoken lonely to me & asked me to go back through the line.

This is a weird place, even by post office standards. It's mainly for distribution and mailcarrier training, not full-service.
Great post office. Teresa is especially a joy to talk to, but the whole staff is usually very nice and helpful. I have never had a bad experience here. Sometimes the wait can be a little long and I wonder why they only have one person working the counter, but I dont think thats specific to this location or within the employees control.

This place is a joke. Reported a carrier who attempted to mace my dog today while he was no where near her. When I say dog I mean our 3 month old puppy. She came into my yard and pulled her mace on my dog who was sitting at my feet. We were on my porch. The supervisor who called us back basically said it’s our fault and he doesn’t care because our dog wasn’t leashed. We have NEVER had a problem with any carrier ever in the multiple years we have lived in our home. In fact most of them ask to pet our puppies when we have them out. He told me it’s her first day on route. If she’s going to mace or attempt to mace every dog she sees she is NOT FIT for this job. Below is a photo of our scary massive puppy she attempted to mace for no reason. The second photo is of my screaming at her seconds after. My puppy isn’t even in that photo because she was trying to mace an unprovoked puppy. This is not acceptable.

There are five letters that represent the reason for my five star review. And they are “Joyce”. It’s so incredibly rare to receive overwhelmingly great customer service anymore, but Joyce should be training all service employees across the globe. She helped me in multiple ways, when she didn’t have to, and did it all while she was juggling multiple customers and things taking place all at the same time.
Amy was amazing. We didn’t have a passport appointment but came in as soon as the place opened and after hearing my story and my stress, she decided to see me right then and there because appointments didn’t start until 10 AM. She was a lifesaver and very patient with me and my mother and relieved a lot of stress.

I missed a parcel recently, so I called to schedule a pickup. The teammate who answered my call was polite and looked for solutions, and was able to help me pickup my package (which I needed for my job) right away.

As just an individual I would never have expected such kindness and consideration for one parcel, but (just like Christmas) the USPS branch here goes above and beyond. Really appreciate our mail carriers for the Heers Lofts downtown, and also for all of the support staff behind the scenes that make the magic happen. Thank you all!!!

First time I came here was because my apartment complex didn’t have a mailbox key for me and wouldn’t fix it, so had to drive here to see about getting a new one. The front desk lady was extremely rude questioning my life choices about not having money to cover the fix even though it wasn’t even my responsibility to have it fixed. (my paychecks hadn’t switched to direct deposit and my only income was locked in my mailbox). She had the audacity to question me and make extremely rude statements. Her supervisor backed her up saying that she was “just trying to offer motherly advice”. What a joke. Fast forward to now. I was expecting a very important piece of mail. It was paid to be insured and tracked. The tracking number confirmed the delivery but it was not in my mailbox. Went to the annex and they said they would call me with news after the carrier goes through all the mailboxes at my complex. That was about 4 days ago, and I haven’t heard anything. Tried to call and just rings and rings with no answer. Worst postal service I have ever worked with. Not to mention they’re in some sort of feud with my apartment complex so both the complex and the postal service are a complete joke for that reason alone, seeing as they won’t take care of their customers who have nothing to do with the problem.

Update: they never called me to tell me any news about my package, which was a car title btw, and i needed it to receive money from the salvage yard for my car which was then going towards my new car. I had to go in a week later in person just for them to tell me they officially lost it. i went without the title for nearly a month. the postal carrier “supposedly” went through all the mail boxes and said they couldn’t find the package. LUCKILY for me someone found the package in their mailbox while checking their mail yesterday and brought it to me. Saved me a trip from having to go to the dmv and who knows where else to get a new title. Clearly they didn’t bother to check or at least check thoroughly. i have maybe complained one or two other times about service somewhere in a review or directly to management, but this experience takes the cake.
They literally don't know how to do their job. Made me go to UPS for a return even though the box and label said USPS. Wouldn't let me even show her the label. Just kept rudely saying we don't do that and brushing me off. Next time I won't be so nice and put it in SpongeBob terms for them. Or call my mom who works at another location and have her tell them how to do their job. Second lady was nice though.
As someone who just relocated to the U.S, I am not sure how to drop off pre-paid package so I just went here this noon, and the staff was so extremely friendly and helpful. Theresa is awesome!!

My package left here at 9pm on Feb 1.srill has not arrived at destination a week later using express Mail. These comments got me feeling doomed.
Cordial and efficient people!
Not giving only one star, because one day there was a very helpful lady who worked there. The Next week, I told the lady I had had a stressful year with several moves and she just busted out laughing. I said that I haven’t received any guidance on how to get my mail to the right place and she said with an attitude “well they don’t know because they see all these addresses listed”
Walked in with 3 minutes left before 5. Had a package ready just needed a tracking number printed. The older man working just laughed, turned around, and shut the service for the day.

It was a pleasant experience coming in to mail a package internationally for Christmas. They were very friendly. I bought a mailer there and inserted my item into it, brought it to the front desk to see. She mailed out my item. I let her know before I left that I hadn’t sealed it. She had already taped all the details on the package and assured me everything would be sent out. A few weeks later, the package is received without the item inside. The attached video is what the recipient got. When I brought this up with them, the owner/manager (I’m assuming?) picked apart the video and told me that Canadian customs and/or USPS were responsible. She said that the tape where it’s sealed looked like it was curling which meant that somebody else took it off and put it back on.. but adhesive like that curls after being in transport. She assured me that they would’ve sealed it and that customs frequently rips things apart, even puts on different labels. She blamed everyone but Mailbox Too. She even went to the back to speak with her husband. At this point, I know I’m being lied to and so I give up, there’s no point in continuing a conversation with a business that would lie to your face like this. She offered no help in finding that missing item nor with bringing this to the attention of USPS or Canadian customs. I’m very disappointed. They’ll probably reply to this review and vehemently deny everything, like the other negative review. If you decide to go to Mailbox Too, I hope things don’t go wrong for you and that you don’t have to ask them to fix a problem.
Arrived on time for our appointments to have passport applications done. Amy helped us through the process, explaining why she needed additional ID, all the fees, etc. She was very nice and professional, and definitely knew what she was doing. Highly recommend this post office for passport processing.

First time visit to mail some Christmas packages and I was a treated to some excellent customer service! Cindy was very friendly and knowledgeable! I know I’ll be back!
Theresa is the nicest post office employee I’ve ever came across! She was more than willing to scan my entire tub of packages even though the store was closing soon. Meanwhile she was also answering phones and greeting the new customers coming in. I don’t often see this kind of customer service at other post offices around here, so I will be visiting this one more often now.
The amount of mail that I have never received over the last few months is outrageous. Packages are marked delivered, but the postal worker was not even at my home (I work from home and I have a Ring camera). I’ve called, submitted claims to get some sort of compensation for lost packages, but they either do nothing or outright close the ticket. I’m at a loss for what to do. I’m so frustrated and I have lost so much money, gifts, etc because the packages never arrive. PLEASE be more mindful of where you are delivering people’s mail.
I'm disabled, with a cane, & so much in pain, just to get to the (sometimes) long line, to the postal person, it's extremely hard to hold myself up, on just a cane!
So, one day, I had a very thoughtful postal person, who asked if I cud go ahead of the other 3 customer's...they agreed WiTH SMILES!!! I will NEVER forget that kindness, of even taking that initiative to even CARE, then to actually ASK!! AMAZING; & ESPECIALLY APPRECIATED.(HONESTLY, I didn't even know, if I cud stand that long, & STILL stand, to complete, mailing my DAUGHTER-IN-LAWS: bd gift, IN TIME!!! REALLY thought, I probably needed to leave, B4 I put SO MUCH pressure, on my knee, that I wouldn't be able to get back to my car!!! So thx, so VERY MUCH, Independence Post Office ❣️ ❣️ ❣️

I had never been to this place before and took some large/heavy packages which needed to be returned to a store. The woman who helped me was so kind and patient. She came out to my truck and measured the items and price checked them there to make sure I had all my information to make my decision rather than go through the hassle of lugging my items into the store. I decided not to return my items but will definitely be coming back just to support this place.

Hope you don't have a problem with a package; they are seemingly great to deal with until that happens. We have been dropping all packages, but won't do any more. If you have a problem, the fault is all yours, they accept none. Last Saturday we emailed them a label, visited and they printed for a reasonable 54 cent charge. I watched their guy place the label on the package, but evidently he didn't scan. Turns out that was my fault??? the package was not scanned in and they are both arrogant and hateful in not accepting accountability for the scan; prefer to blame on the me or the FedEx driver. For all I know, one of their employees is enjoying a $400 antique wall cabinet at my expense and my customer is without. Shame on you!

Went to the post office and it felt like a prison, but this place feels like a warm hug. I was greeted by two lovely ladies! I can tell their vibes rub off on their customers because the last person paid it forward and it covered my charge :,) I would gladly sell my soul for this place<3

This is the worst Post Office I've ever worked with. My mail carrier regularly loses my mail and then they don't answer their phone when I call to ask about it. Losing my mail isn't really a big deal because I only usually get junk mail (No, SpeedyCash, I don't want a $500 loan with 300% APR). What inspired write this review is that I was supposed to receive a $5k check in the mail on or around 11/5. It's now 11/12 and I haven't received it yet, but the person that sent me the check says that it's already been cashed. This leads me to believe that they delivered it to the wrong address. I've been trying to call for 3 days with no answer and the corporate 1-800 number is totally useless. This needs to change. Many people get important documents and potentially life saving medical supplies through the mail. The fact that I can't even call the post office to file a complaint is absolutely abhorrent.

Getting a package delivered by them is probably worse than the regular mail. I order stuff from the internet frequently. Every time the merchant sends a package, it NEVER shows up when it's supposed to. It's always late. I can't prove it, but I'm pretty sure whoever's responsible for delivering packages signs off that all of his/her deliveries were made when he/she picks them up from the post office. He/she then delivers them at his/her own convenience. It's worth it to pay more to use UPS, Fedex or even DHL.

Stopped by here as it was close to my house and I was trying to mail an odd shaped manila envelope. The guy working the counter was very nice and helpful. He directed me to 2 different locations and let me know my envelope would be fine. They do not have the retail services like the ones on Chestnut and Glenstone. Thank you for being so nice!
It was home health
They had one person working to other standing around so you had to wait a bit.
This place is understaffed by a lot, that being said they were friendly enough though could use a bit more customer service training. The prices are a bit high on PO boxes compared to other locations and other cities and other states. I do not know why that is, but I do know they hemorrhage millions of tax payer dollars to stay in business. Over all I would say we would be better off if the service went away from being government run and another company took over. I'm not for taking away people's jobs...but from my many experiences in USPS locations there are a lot of lazy workers that act annoyed when you ask them to do what they are being paid to do. Not this location just saying in general that is the attitude you get at a lot of these places.
This is a good post office. It's well stocked and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Easy to get stamps and mail items. Lots of Kiosks
Just a bad experience overall in the building the last few times I had to go there..
Zero stars isn’t an option. I wanted to send a bike to a person serving in Iraq. The post office accepted the package. It cost well over 150 dollars to send. They mailed it around the US and decided it was too large to send. So they returned it to my home. 6 weeks later. After multiple phone calls they told us to go online to request a refund. The site said can’t refund 30 days after being mailed. Even though it hadn’t returned to residence for almost 45 days. Scammed me out of a lot of money. They will not contact me back after more calls and emails. Theft at its finest.
Nice and helpful employees
I recently had a phone call with one of the ladies who work at this post office. I was inquiring about my intercepted package that was being held for
pickup. Right as the phone call began, the lady on the phone was extremely rude and offensive, with a condescending tone and attitude. I understand it is a stressful time for everyone, especially those working at USPS due to the volume of packages they have, but that is no excuse to be so hurtful and harsh to a customer who is simply worried about their package and wanting to ensure it is not lost. She blatantly told me it is not possible to pick up packages from the post office, which confused me further as my whole purpose in intercepting a package was for it to be held for pickup. She was of absolutely no help. I tried my best to be nice and understanding, but unfortunately her attitude has led me to leave this review since I would hate for anyone else to be met with such unprofessional behavior.

It is always a pleasure to do business with Mailbox Too. The staff is amazing every time I walk in the door! I very highly recommend this business.
The older man who services the front desk is very rude. I purchased some envelopes and was going to quickly scribble down the address and he interrupts me as I start writing and says, “No, do that over there so I can help someone else.” I had to come back again a second time and hopefully the last to this post office as I will probably just pick up a pack of envelopes and stamps instead of dealing with this location. He wasn’t rude this time, but as I waited in line, he was condescending to a few customers who asked questions.
After reading the reviews, we were hesitant to use this branch, but couldn’t get a passport appointment anywhere else for today. Super pleased. There were four people working and all were super friendly people. Since we were there for about 20 minutes, we saw dozens of interactions, all were friendly and helpful. Great post office!

Original review:
Liza who works at the desk is always so great with her service and accommodating. Great that this is my local Post Office.

Update 07/08/22:
I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Liza again, I'm happy she's still here years later.

I think the issues with this place is that people forget the USPS employees are people as well - countless times when I have had to drop a package off to send off, people are so unjustly rude. I understand impatience but audibly complaining isn't going to make the service any faster.
