Giving this location just 1 start is too much. The staff is clearly underdeveloped starting with the branch manager. Today went in at time of opening at 8:30am and was greeted with a hey from the branch manager. Advising the teller has not arrived just yet. Her options for the members was to wait for the teller or come back later. The branch manager did not offer to help the 6 members who were waiting; claiming she doesn’t have a drawer. I will never understand how the Branch Manager is not equipped to assist members in every transaction that can be made in the branch. I know for sure that the previous branch manager would have jumped on the teller line and assisted members. Do better Hyde Park United Credit Union.

Been calling forover an hour. Has one phone sit on hold, while the other phone we dialed loan department, account services, even collections. Couldn't get anyone to answer. Eventually started just dialing by name at random and getting voicemails. If your employee and you got a voicemail asking

Went to this establishment to grab rent money, due to my credit union being closed on the weekend, no greeting, when I entered, grabbed a slip to fill out the lady immediately said we are not processing due to low currency, I don't understand how a credit union can operate with "low currency" didn't even ask how much I was trying to take out? But was quick to tell me what they weren't going to do, the customer service in this establishment is not up to par.

The only reason I have this bank is because it was provided to me through Nissan when I traded my car in. However, I believe that I can get better service somewhere else and will move forward looking into my options. I call and call and there seems to only be one call rep and they don't understand the issue at hand. No one from management has returned my calls or anything as requested through the call rep. I've been dealing with this issues for over 6 months. Back in Jan is the only time I received a call back and that was because I left a voicemail on who knows who phone, they were the only assistance I've ever received! I do not recommend this bank for any services. If you are in charge of loans and other finances you should be easily accessible and they are NOT!!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with United Credit Union, and I must say that I am thoroughly disappointed with the level of customer service provided. The lack of responsiveness and professionalism displayed by this institution is nothing short of abysmal.
To begin with, the unreturned phone calls and messages were a clear indication of the bank's disregard for its customers. Despite numerous attempts to reach out and seek assistance, it seemed like my concerns were falling on deaf ears. It is incredibly frustrating to be left in the dark and have to continuously follow up, only to be met with silence.
Furthermore, my interactions with the staff at the Hyde Park branche left much to be desired. The employees demonstrated a poor attitude and a complete lack of common courtesy. It was evident that they had no interest in providing quality service or addressing customer inquiries. Their dismissive and apathetic behavior only added to the already dismal experience.
To make matters worse, I overheard bank employees engaging in derogatory discussions about other customers while I was present in the branch. This not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also raised concerns about the privacy and confidentiality of customer information. It is completely unacceptable for employees to openly discuss and criticize customers within earshot.
The bare minimum I ask for is common courtesy, and I certainly did not receive that from United Credit Union. The consistent lack of customer service and the deplorable behavior exhibited by the staff have left me feeling frustrated, disrespected, and utterly dissatisfied.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering United Credit Union to think twice before entrusting their financial needs to this institution. So I havent been with this credit union for more than 3 months I have a portion of my paycheck going here. I needed a replacement debit card and the lady working the counter claims she doesnt do that and come back tomorrow when the other lady is here. Im off on Friday/sat and theres no way im coming to this place on my business off day thats the only day i have to handle business pay bills volunteer at my kids school ect. 😒🙄. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW U WORK AT THE CREDIT UNION BANK AND IS NOT QUALIFIED TO PRINT DEBIT CARDS.

Do NOT bank with them. someone sent me a check that wasn’t right. They made all kinds of problems. Said I was going to be locked out for 3 months. I talked to me like it was my fault. The guy I think his name was Alex gave me a massive attitude. It was overall a terrible bank. They constantly put money holds my account before this. It takes them forever to lift it. This has made me miss MANY bills. If you value your credit DO NOT use them. The 2 years I have been with them has been absolutely terrible.

First of all I was charged a extra 9000 for car insurance when I clearly had insurance. Ten my car was paid off by chase because I bought a new car and they were supposed to cut me a check and this was Aug 23rd now I can’t even get in touch with anyone. Holding for hours or no answer at all. Horrible business.

VERY BAD COMPANY and NEEDS to be SHUT DOWN!! Called to get a 10 day payout and Jasmine Austin who’s over my account never answered or called me back. I finally talked to her after I called again 4days later after I had to leave a message with a different agent. I told her I needed to cancel my auto pay and she told me she received my message and I need to send an email to cancel. Like why? If I want autopay just call and they will put it in but to cancel you need to send an email?…which doesn’t make sense. I told her another company is paying my car off and she’s saying I need to write an email to get a 10 day payout and the 10 day payout is more than what I owe. I told her we tried to call to get the payout amount but she never answered or returned my calls and the other company decided to write the check for what I owe. Like why am I talking to you for if I have to write all these emails. VERY BAD COMPANY!!!

This Credit Union did everything they could to prevent me from becoming a member. The website was had to navigate. I filled out an application online for a checking account, ran my credit and I was denied. I called and ask why I was denied. I was told I have to open a saving account before I am allowed to open a checking account. I asked the banker to open a savings then. She told me she couldn't, and that I would have to reapply online, click savings account and have my credit ran again. I wasn't going to have this CU run my credit again. Why would the website allow you to click checking account only and run your credit, if that will be an automatic rejection. The whole time she was upset as of I was wasting her time.

When I closed my cd I waited standing in front of a hallway automated machine. It took 11 minutes of standing, after chatting with clerk. At fidelity I came in , gave them my stuff and had a coffee and sat in a comfy chair with WiFi while I waited .

Garbage. Unfortunately my auto loan was sold to them and I didn't have a say in the matter. Will be looking to refinance and move to a reputable bank ASAP. Their website is from the 90s and has almost no functionality.
I want to edit and add that Ms. Candice Battle was very helpful and pleasant to speak with but she needs some help. Why is she the only person who answers the phone? Either severely understaffed or just doesn’t care. Not sure which.

The customer service is excellent. When I called the representatives have always been friendly, courteous and helpful. The loan department is excellent. They were able to process my loan in one day. The only problem I have, when sending money to my account CAFCU from an external bank (CHASE), it takes days before it reaches my CAFCU account. My external bank (Chase) and CAFCU are both in Illinois and I don't understand why it takes up to 5 days for the deposit to hit my CAFCU account. Overall I really like the credit union but they need to find away to get deposits in accounts quicker.

I am a city worker, so I thought this would be a good place to open a savings account, boy was I wrong! I’m in the process of buying a house, and I have gotten zero help from this organization. I have called, emailed, and even been there in person. The teller told me that he emailed a mortgage expert and they would be in touch with me soon. Never happened. Now they have changed their hours so they close at 3pm. I get out of work at 2:30 and can’t even get there in time. Luckily, I have been able to work with a different mortgage company, made an offer and will have my own home soon. I will be pulling out my money from this disaster of a credit union, and putting it elsewhere. If I could give them no stars, I would. Don’t waste your time with this place!

I've been banking with CAFCU for over 5 years now and have never had any issue with them. In the rare instances where I need their customer assistance, they have been nothing but helpful and courteous. Their services are very easy to use and sensible.

I been a customer with TCU for many years and to charge $15.00 for a one page statement is crazy given that they pay no interest. They should know their customers can’t wait until I move my account to another bank.

I’ve been a member of United Credit Union for over 35 years. The clerks are always friendly and in some cases know you by your name. The credit union is convenient and close in my neighborhood. I’ll take UCU over some of the banks that have horrible services. Sometimes there are issues that take a bit longer…however you’ll be pleased and not waiting in long lines. Thank you UCU Administrators and the Banking Personnel that offers excellent services.

Called ahead about getting a check for my home closing using "Shared Services" from another Credit Union. They said yes on the phone. I show up in Rosemont and the teller refuses. They said that HQ got it wrong. Called HQ and they said yes again but not before telling me that I was probably confused about the shared services and giving me an attitude in tone. Then put me on hold and left me there. Go to American Airlines credit union in Rosemont. I was in and out in 2 minutes with the check. I should have lost 30 minutes from work, instead it was nearly 2 hours.

You are only allowed 5 debit transactions per month. It's $1 per debit after that, so you have to remember to use your debit card as a credit card when making purchases. On-line banking goes down a lot.

I called the branch manager to get a vehicle loan and was approved for $25,000 with my trade in and $500 down payment.The next week I went into a reputable dealership and give my information to them about my approved loan. I have been playing a cat and mouse game with them ever since! The branch manager came up with all different excuses about my trade in and my FICO score. Leaving me frustrated and embarrassed! Next time before giving approval for a loan ask more detailed questions!! This branch manager has no integrity. She dangles a carrot of an assured car loan only to snatch it away with trade in stipulations and extended warranty plans at the brink of closing a sale with a dealership.

I have been a member of this credit union for over 10 yrs. I have enjoyed the convenience and good customer service provided at the Hyde Park office during that time. I'm very disappointed that the only credit union on the near southside will close until further notice. This is a extreme inconvenience to your members.

I have used Acme for over 10 years. They have always been pleasant and helpful. Their Christmas account is so easy. The funds are available in the middle of October and you can call them to have them mail you a check. I was also able to get a credit card with a low APR that has been an absolute life changer.

This CU stepped in and helped federal employees subjected to the oppressive 2018-19 government shutdown in a way that few financial institutions (and certainly not banks) would. The peace of mind they gave me during that difficult time was a Godsend. Always had courteous and helpful customer service as well, in the nearly 10 years I have been a member. I intend to stay with them for keeps.

Hands down the worst banking experience I have ever had. 1. It took me 3 days to get someone on the phone because either no answers the phone or the automated directory goes nowhere. I never actually got anyone on the phone, they called me after I sent an angry email. The person assured me the phone was fixed. An hour later, I tried to reach them again and couldn't get anyone. 2. You can create an account online, but then they notify you by mail of the result. There's no way to check the status because no one answers the phone. It took me several weeks to learn I even successfully created an account. 3. I was going through all of this to get a car loan. They require you to have an account to get a loan, which is pretty standard, but then you can't get anyone on the phone and they won't process your loan until you've gotten the the dealer to send them a finalized statements of the total expense, including tax and registration fees because that's realistic. They won't pre-approve you and they wont accept listing info from you. You have to get the dealer to send over the complete package. I gave up on the whole thing or so I thought. 4.) Several weeks went by, and I randomly receive a welcome packet. This is the first time I learn that I actually created an account during all of this mess. I started the account with the minimum amount required $25 because the whole reason for this account was to get a car loan. Two days after I got the welcome packet, I received my first statement, saying I now have $9 left in the account. Paid $10 new account fee, $6 check deposit fee, even though i have never deposited a check, cashed a check, blinked at a check, or whispered aloud the word "check". 5. All of this happens, and I ended up not even going with cmecu because I found a lower rate with the dealership, and I didn't want to miss out on a second car waiting to get approved.

The customer service we received from this credit union was not good at all. I will definitely not do business with them again. When we called them to discuss our account, they acted like it was an inconvenience for them. We lived in a different state so we couldn’t just go to the branch. It wasn’t a one time thing with a single teller, it was every time we called. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

I have been with this credit union for two years. They nickel and dime you for everything. The fees will drain your account. When you ask for courtesy fee reversals they say they don't have to. No customer support at all.

Lady working there was extremely rude. I was trying mail an envelope and she was causing unnecessary drama, told me to take off my glasses and made unprofessional rude remarks. She then tried to over charge me for unnecessary tracking option. I hope she gets fired.

Took an entire summer to get my mailbox re-keyed. When the postal worker called to finally tell me when they were going to complete the work order he was too informal with me. He presented himself like the "drunk uncle at a barbecue" and tried to passive, aggressively chastise me for being vigilant about getting my mailbox re-keyed. I gave him the most professional terse tone allowed and then he calmed himself. Every time I use USPS services there's always unnecessary problems. I hope the higher ups do an over haul and re-vamp the system and get rid of employees that obviously do not want to be there. At this time I would rather pay UPSW or FedEx to deliver my goods, at least they try to contact you in a normal amount of time.
