There are full of corners that can easily take you back to the 19th century. You don't necessarily would get there early for Broadway theaters, but please do for shows in Park Avenue Armory. It's more like going to a home theater of someone's mansion than dedicated performance theater, which is sometimes cold.

Except for the sadness of missing Juliet Stevenson the night we attended (and Dee Nelson was outstanding anyway!), our experience with "The Doctor" and the Armory location was transcendent!

saw 'the doctor' starring juliet stevenson here. the play itself was good although was far too undecided to feel like it was saying anything substantial besides 'wow isn't this all quite complicated'. but the venue was stunning, particularly the lounge. good views from all the seats also as they're all tiered - we were sat in the back row and could see everything well.
Great place to take photos!
好拍的景,很美的街頭藝術,如果剛好在world trade center 可以順便來旁邊看

I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this play was (The Doctor). The acting was perfect, the direction was amazing. I had a wonderful evening. I look forward to returning many, many times for future events. If you are "on the fence" regarding this play, think no further and go.

Unique building that is historic and wonderful interior spaces, which being restored are a special performance stages. It can be utilized more, but certainly an additional room space for the performance chamber idioms.

Decorative art for tourists at insane prices. They don't stand behind their artists. If you like something in this gallery, wait a bit and find it for sale elsewhere or at auction for a tiny fraction of their price. Yes, I'm bitter and $40K poorer.

The space was very cool. The stage was inside an enormous space with the seats on risers. Thankfully the actors are amplified so they can be heard. Staff was very helpful. Hope to see a better play there in the future. The one I saw tonight was awful.

Just saw a much better show, but I really don't like the performance space that much.

Every time I walk into Eden Gallery, my mood lifts! The high ceilings, the natural light and the design of the place is so pleasant on the eyes. Love walking around and looking at their new collections.

If you like elegance and sophistocation, I recommend checking out Eden Gallery in Madison Avenue. High end and luxurios feeling, they have gorgeous art, interesting pieces and also very good customer service. Overall, great place in multiple ways.
So pretty!

Rating for Julian Rosefeldt's show - Euphoria.

Wow. Powerful, sobering yet hopeful.

And the setting is very unique I bet you have never seen a musical like this. Best / most appropriate way to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Adam Smith.
Hope received my wife, son and I very graciously for a peak of the opening night of Strider exhibit- fabulous- thank you Hope,
Well intentioned and useful for open studio tour but suffers from 2 major defects. Quality and prices are very wide selection as are the mediums and styles of many artists screened for mostly below market rents. All serious about careers. But but but, to give my very seasoned opinion as a pro gallerist and publisher for 40 years.....1. Get serious quality curators to select better admissions and not sure if friendships are involved in allocating studios in central location by Port Authority. 2. You need a serious board reawakening as not for profit when you allow an artist to rent long term who hits it big earning huge income and can afford to give way to emerging or aspiring artists needing the subsidy. If the board allows this gross inequity and you take advantage like rent control for the wealthy... What does it says about you?
I attended a workshop here, organized by a friend. Nice gallery & artists residency space.

This place is unlike the Broadway theaters, it’s inside the armory warehouse and very large space converted to the theater, the seats are build up levels with armchairs, seats are comfortable and the levels are high enough so you don’t have peoples head blocking your view. There’s not really a bad seat in the theater because everyone is facing front sitting in square space.
The public facility are also very nice, dark wood decor with large oil paintings of military figures second floor has gender mutual bathroom and lower floor has another smaller bathroom. The room to get drink is also very cute like a library.
Cool, friendly gallery with plenty to see for the size. When I visited, it had an interesting selection from Otto Piene with a variety of mediums. It took about 10-15min to see everything.

Nice bit diffict
I was New York Wednesday Sept 11th to see my friends solo exhibit "In Plain Sight" @fridmangallery. So awesome and well displayed. The Canvas art was suspended from the ceiling. There was a moving playing on the back wall of succesfull black women from the 1900"s, just incredible. The artist name is Dindga McCannon, @didnga, she is a mixed media artist that works in fabric, making quilts, on canvas using fabric jewels and paint, she hand makes clothing and paints murals. Everything about this exhibit screamed Dindga's vision. It's a must see.
No air conditioning on the closing night

Crowded, noisy, and poorly laid out. Basically an attempt to squeeze in office space that took axle grease and a shoehorn, and was put together out of scrap from a bigger project.
Incredibly nice printmaking shop with intaglio relief printing and screenprinting facilities the monitors are incredibly nice and you can meet a lot of really cool artist here it is amazing and I always wish to go back the hourly rate is reasonable and the membership is incredibly great deal for the city. Barbara Dee my friend said that she loves the classes that are offered here because the teachers are really knowledgeable and are very nice and you get extra studio workshop hours to hone your skills that you’ve learned
I interned here and it's a great place with cooooool art people! 😉
It is an organization for the arts. Open house two times a year. Studio Space, Gallery and Printmaking Workshop.
A nice art space. What you would expect in the West Village. Go for a beer at The Ear Inn afterwards. Just a hop, skip and jump away!
I was in the Chelsea district and saw the Garth Greenan Gallery sign, I had heard he was really extraordinary...a "visionary" as they say, so I went inside.

I saw a collection by Nicholas Krishnick which was fantastic. I was awed by the abstract nature of the artists' work, all in vibrant colors of red/blue and black.
The images were pure and unique in every way.
I asked for the gallerists and he actually came up front and introduced himself.

Pure genius, young, very charming, engaging in a way that made me want to be in his company whenever I was in Chelsea or whenever I wanted to buy art. A magical kind of person!

Apparently he is highly regarded in the art world. I put myself on the mailing list. He is pure celebrity, so is his gallery!

It was interesting although the theater was very very tiny the performers were great and the price was right
Très pittoresque
The EFA provides emerging, mid-career, and established artists with studio space at a prime location; it consists of a vibrant community. The member artists open their doors once a year to the public through an open studio event, usually in October.
