Very busy place with a lot going on. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. A must for people in need. Our government is not doing enough to help US citizens and now there are all the new immigrants that need help as well. The government needs to wake up.
Called they said they weren't registering people and to come and grab a number to grab an emergency bag .got there parking is extremely small and went in the office only to be told that you have to be registered even for an emergency bag . Yet you tell me that I'm able to come because you're not taking any registering I'm soooooooooo mad for time wasted and gas. And my own sanity.now I have to search for a different food bank !
Came to Metro Caring back when they first opened when we were going through hard times. They have rebuilt and are able to provide more food assistance now. Emergency bags can be picked up just a bit of a wait. You can also go online and schedule a sort of grocery trip through their food center. That is a once a month trip. Only down side is if individuals with larger family groups go before you and you have a later visit, there may not be much for you to choose from after.
Amazing all I anticipated and more, we were lucky enough to arrive in time to see the Dia De Los Muertos parade. All the art exhibits were beautiful. Looking forward to attending the next one.
A very helpful, well established resource for the less fortunate citizens in Colorado. A place to connect, learn and grow in your community. Because community and food help people in so many ways. Also one of the best places to volunteer because they treat you good and make you feel your time is well spent.

A lovely zoo, and clearly on the way to bigger things. The elephant enclosure is very impressive, the largest I've seen outside of Dan Diego. What they have now seems small for a city the size of Denver, but multiple construction projects are underway. The staff were friendly, informed, and engaged. More detailed maps throughout would be a nice touch, as we missed things and had to backtrack because the main map gave the impression of a simple loop that was not a match for how things felt while walking. Even with poor weather it was a great day out and I would visit again in the future.
I've only been to Metro caring about three times. Out of the three times I've gotten my goals done pretty quickly. The employees aren't really enthused to be working there or so it seems, but will answer your questions.
When I dropped off a couple of things to donate the staff was really helpful. I fully support this organization and it was a pleasure to continue to donate to them.
ON THE CONSTRUCTION- if people took the time to read, the construction is 1. New habitats for current animals 2. They are adding an exhibit for new animals incoming! So there is nothing you really miss! That was a dramatic statement from people. They do no longer have seals but I’m sure there’s a reason for that.

Wonderful, dedicated people helping others who are less fortunate
We visited the Denver Zoo as a part of a school field trip. It was a lot of fun but there was a lot of construction going on as they were renovating a lot of it. I'd say the coolest and most unique aspect of this zoo is the Elephants and the Elephant show that they do. It is incredible to watch how the trainers interact with such huge animals and how the animals perform. Such a fun experience for the kids and the adults!
We hadn’t been to the Denver zoo in a few years and I was so impressed with the transformation that has taken place. They have redeveloped multiple areas of the park to better accommodate animals and allow for close up viewing. Several areas are under reconstruction and I’m excited to see what is coming next! We had special sightings of a baby mandrill, wallabies being trained, an elephant presentation, and a baby sloth from right underneath. All staff were friendly and informative and seem to really care.
This was a massive disappointment. The zoo itself is clean and the staff is friendly. But that’s about all I can say that’s positive. I’ve been to a lot of zoos over the years and this one was by far the most empty one I’ve ever been to. More animal exhibits are empty/being rebuilt than ones with animals.

They really like to trap you in the elephant and monkey exhibits so you can't find your way out but overall it's a fine zoo. The short and sweet elephant show was great with lots of conservation info and Jake (the elephant) did such a good job! You can tell the employees really care, for example an orangutan mommy had just given birth and they had a zookeeper there explaining everything and keeping order so all guests could see the baby. I also really liked their animal hospital and that you can observe procedures, very unique and awesome experience if something is going on. The only thing I'd wish was for more big cats :)
Great huge zoo. 5 mile walk to see it all. Perfect weather today made it a great experience. The 4 lion brothers and the baby mandrill right at the glass were truly memorable.

The Online portal to buy tickets was a bit confusing since I feel like they're still using the old covid protocol & asking us what time slot we wished to come in at, I decided to just bite the bullet and buy tickets at the door and it worked, we didn't have to wait for a timeslot or anything, we walked right in. 😀
Most of the animals were up and alert. We even got to see the tiger walking around when they're usually sleeping.
Wish I tried some of the food they were selling cause it all smelled so good.
I'd definitely come back!

Went here with my family during a recent trip to Denver and had a fantastic experience. There is a huge variety of animals here and the park is very big so we couldn't even see everything. Loved the sea lion show, and the elephant habitat was very impressive. The park amenities are in very good shape, and there are a lot of good food and beverage options. They have coffee and beer for adults, which is always appreciated.

There is some ongoing construction but nothing that should really affect your experience too much. The zoo is also a little tricky to navigate, and the app is pretty much worthless. Better wayfinders would be very helpful. Also, do not pay for the train ride. It only lasts about 5 minutes and you can't see anything.

My family travels to aquariums and zoos every chance we get. This is by far one of the BEST zoos we have visited. It is clear that the employees have a deep concern for the animals, the environment, and for conservation. They were happy to speak to all of the visitors and answers questions and offer information about the exhibits.
There was much care given to ensure the safety of the animals, which included taking them off of display if it was in the animal’s best interest. This was actively communicated to the visitors through Keepers Notes.
If an animal was not in it’s normal location, this was also communicated. Absolutely LOVED this zoo and highly recommend visiting it.

Great area to walk around and visit the various art galleries. I really enjoy first Friday and when they close off the streets so people can safely enjoy walking around.
This is a really fun, large, and clean zoo. They have a wide variety of animals and exhibits. Being quite large, it does require a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to take breaks if you come with very young children. It was also quite hot the day we went, and while there is some shade around the zoo, you may want to prepare by bringing water and sun protection. The elephant exhibit was especially impressive. We really enjoyed this zoo and would definitely recommend it for families and anyone who enjoys seeing animals!
Best food Bank I know of!!! Make appt, they get u in, get wheeled cart, pick whatever u like, get weighed, then load up and head out! They. Are. So. Friendly!!! Huge plus!! Absolutely cherish this place, AND it's only ONE of their features!!!! Such. A. Blessing...no more needed 😁😎💯🌟😊

They don't really have low income housing. I feel like they more so cater to two parent homes. For the most part you need to be making $6000 a month to work with them...just a heads up
I was lucky enough to be visiting Denver on a first Friday of the month so I was here for the mini art festival where a lot of the studios and galleries open their doors to the public, creating an unlikely museum with open air passages between exhibit spaces. There was a bunch of great food trucks parked around the side streets off Santa Fe with plenty of options for all diets as well as some restaurants and bars between studios. We met some great people, saw a lot of great art and genuinely had a great time. Highly recommend you visit if you get the chance.
Never received order. Sent multiple messages which were never answered. Went to Paypal for a refund and this company must not have responded to them either.
As a place to helps people I'm very shocked, broken hearted and very upset for the fact that you want to charge people and someone like me a $99 pickup fee for furniture that I'm trying to donate. Your customer service gal had no empathy for the situation that I'm going through. You see.....I was involved in a 2nd severe car accident that left me petrified of being in a car and has left me riddled with PTSD and Anxiety. I am just trying to get help getting the donated furniture out of my apartment and sent to a donation place. I'm even a separated and abandoned military spouse with no other options and nobody will even help me! Sounds like you have an issue with the military and their spouses.. My stress, emotions and anxiety are x100 because you can't help! I'm not even that far from you guys. I have lost all respect for you and will never support you because all ypu care about is money and not what someone is going through especially when they just want to DONATE GOOD STURDY FURNITURE!
These people are racist. Me and my boyfriend needed to do community service and 5 minutes into the service. They came up to us telling us that we smelled like weed and that we had to leave. My boyfriend and I don’t smoke weed at all!! I honestly think it’s because we are young black kids and they proceeded to ban us from the next location as well…Racial profiling and discrimination is not okay!!!
Everything Youth Empowerment does is for the advancement and stability of all the youth involved in the programs that they offer and the programs they offer cover a wide range of life skills, and gives the youth outlets and opportunity's to see and do things that they haven't done so they can prosper.
Working with Sherie and Debra is amazing. They really listen, put things in action and care for the youth and community with everything they do. Their passion for what they do speaks for itself. If you have the opportunity please check them out and let the magic work. 😁

Y.E.A is amazing! They provide a very family oriented environment and have a variety of programs to offer children of all ages and interests. My kids love it! If I could give more than a 5 star rating I most definitely would!

I need to preface this review by saying that I did not deal directly with Habitat for Humanity. The problem is the company they use to pick up donations - Resupply. I have been trying to work with Resupply to pick up my basement full of nice furniture to donate to the organization. Habitat for Humanity lists them as one of two donation options (which is actually the PAID option as I need help getting the furniture out of the basement.). All I can say is that Resupply is extremely incompetent. I sat around for two days waiting for their movers to arrive. Both days I got an email at 5:30 pm that they would not be able to make it that day, but could they come tomorrow. On the morning of the second day, I received an email from someone entirely different at Resupply who did not have a clue what had been discussed with another one of their employees the day before. They do not communicate with each other. And the worst part is that there is no way to speak to anyone directly. All communication is done via their website - through a chatbox - or email. If this was a matter of being patient with volunteers, I absolutely would be. But this is the paid option offered on Habitat for Humanity's website and I was willing to pay over $500 for this service. My recommendation is for Habitat for Humanity to not offer this service and for consumers not to do business with Resupply.
As a mother, and a active community member I really enjoy Y.E.A and the programs they offer staff very well organized and the programs always run smoothly, and are engaging for my daughter. We truly recommend anyone to join this program they are always doing fun events all around Aurora and Denver metro area. A non-profit I stand behind.
I enjoyed walking around in search of street art. Good way to welcome the New Year. Not as much art as Rhino district but I enjoy a good treasure hunt.
If one has a SNAP card, Admission is only $1, up to 10 admissions - a way better deal than the $24 now being charged. Incredible that is costs that much - way more than when I was a kid. But then, the DZ has upgraded its exhibits and facilities through the decades.

I've had my habitat home going on 10 years. Even though I was denied the first time the second was a breeze. I know they changed their policies to apply and Denver has grown substantially they can't help everyone. I know they mean well and I hope they continue to show such great respect to incoming homeowners. I love habitat and my children and I thank you for our wonderful home. FOREVER grateful THANK YOU habitat!
