Kinda cool to see my family name on a National Park sign
Great small scale dock to meet your boating buddies and have them pick you up on the Anacostia River right by Nat’s Park.

While your on Pennsylvania Ave in Dc take a stroll thru this Sculpture garden. It’s has some very cool and unique pieces of art.

There is also a huge fountain where everyone sits around with a cafe that sells food and cocktails. It was an enjoyable break for our sore feet running around touring DC. A galore of food trucks parked on the street too.

This is a hidden gem and very nice sculpture garden! ⛲️ Such a great day walking through the garden and learning about the history of the sculptures along the way. I highly recommend checking it out!
Heard a great deal from locals as a must-see attraction. A good Park, sure, but pales in comparison to nearby Boxcar Willie Park.
The mulberry trees are loaded this time of year, go and eat your fill

A beautiful spot when the tulips are blooming, right on the tidal basin park. Many different varieties you don't often see. There is parking in the park here, but the metro is always a better option.
There were a lot of beautifully dressed Japanese women there celebrating the gift of the beautifully flowering Japanese cherry trees with were given to Americans after world war I.

The central place in the park is occupied by a beautiful fountain. The sculptures are fascinating. The right place for enjoyment and rest.

One of must-visit places in DC close to the art and history museums. You can chill out in this place and get rest for the rest of your DC exploring trip

During the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the star is the Cherry Blossom tree. But the Flora Library also showcases a mix of popular spring flowers, like Tulips in varying colors.

Cherry Blossom Treasure
The National Cherry Blossoms in Washington D.C. are a true wonder of nature and a sight to behold. Every year, during the springtime, the city comes alive with the vibrant pink and white blooms of the cherry trees, creating a stunning landscape that attracts visitors from all around the world.

What makes the National Cherry Blossoms so special is not only their beauty, but also their history. These cherry trees were a gift from the people of Japan to the United States in 1912, as a symbol of friendship and goodwill. Today, they are a symbol of the strong bond between our two nations, and a testament to the enduring power of diplomacy.

Walking through the Tidal Basin during peak bloom is an experience like no other. The air is filled with the delicate scent of cherry blossoms, and the sound of birds singing among the branches. The sight of the trees against the backdrop of the city's monuments and skyline is truly breathtaking, and something that everyone should witness at least once in their lifetime.

The National Cherry Blossoms also offer a wealth of activities and events for visitors to enjoy. From the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade to the Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival, there is something for everyone. And for those who want a more peaceful experience, simply strolling through the blossoms and taking in the sights and sounds is enough to provide a sense of tranquility and wonder.

Overall, the National Cherry Blossoms are a true national treasure, and a testament to the beauty and resilience of nature. They serve as a reminder of the importance of friendship and diplomacy, and bring people together from all walks of life to celebrate their splendor. If you ever have the chance to see them in person, do not hesitate - it will be an experience you will never forget.

This is one of the best spots to break out of the crowds during the rush with the Cherry Blossoms. Lots of shady, grassy areas to spread out and enjoy the views. The parking lot is closed to traffic, so there’s a lot more room for pedestrians, and they also add portable restrooms in the parking lot area during cherry blossom festival.

There were many sculptures and an ice link in the Sculpture Garden. Many people were having fun skating on the ice link. There was an special sculpture that showing 3D house but it is not.
Calling this a park is hyperbolic. But for a small free space it is nicely up kept.
Unique views and nice seats.

Teague park is a nice place for date night. Clean bathrooms, a lot of places to eat. No playground but the kids love playing in the water and a great place for a picnic.

This is a neat place to take a walk and see some unique pieces of art! The only downside is that it’s almost all in the sun, so it’s super hot in the summer. The good thing is that there are benches, public restrooms, and a cafe.

Be sure to check this place out if you’re in the area!

Had a great time viewing the cherry blossoms and walking the monuments surrounding the Tidal Basin. Easy train ride in on the Metro and a breezy stroll took less than 3 hours. Just past peak but still well worth the visit.
Delightful little park nestled between DC streets.

We went to the park for a city organized fishing event on two consecutive weekends. My young sons both caught catfish. They had a ball! The program is catch and release and has become pretty popular so there were many families with their children learning how to fish on the pier and bridges. The instructors are patient and fun. My boys really enjoyed themselves.

Is usually locked during the middle of the day.
A nice lil public park situated on the banks of the #anacostiariver in SE DC, near the the Nationals baseball stadium, restaurants, a boardwalk and adjoining pedestrian pier sitting just inches above the river's waters! I love the peaceful environment, the views of river and New Frederick Douglas Memorial Bridge!!!

Could be a pretty spot alongside the railroad tracks, but it's not well-maintained (railway & utility vehicles tear up about half of it), it's not designed for active use (no chairs or anything to make it inviting), and it's not programmed with any events or activities. It's a forgotten park that isn't even good enough to serve as a lunch spot for nearby office workers.

Great place to see playing Batala DC an all women Afro-Brazilian percussion group. Stop by you won't be disappointed. They practice every Saturday morning.

This is a park on the Washington Navy Yard. As a military installation belonging to the US Navy, it is accessible most easily to those with a DoD CAC, Uniformed ID and Privileges Card, US Government-issued ID, Federal PIV Credentials, or TWIC. If you have an escort with one of these credentials, they can take you in as well. Others must take their photo ID to the Visitor Control Center (VCC) at the primary access gate at 11th and O Streets SE (GPS address is 1022 O Street SE, Washington, DC). The VCC is open weekdays, 6:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

This is great place to relax, with benches and tables available to eat and watch the squirrels. If you’re working in the area and/or visiting the museum, I highly recommend this as a spot to rest.

Good green space on campus. Is not very big, but my organization has held multiple events here. We use the barbeques in site with charcoal to make burgers and hotdogs. There are benches and tables to eat at our do crafts, etc. There is even room to throw a ball, but not enough to play many games. Overall a good outdoor space, but you may need to contact the university to gain access.
Nice place for family fun or evenings by the water

Attended a really cool “Be a Drummer for a Day” event here! Tiny little park with no amenities, but super close to the metro station and parking nearby. The group we saw was an all-woman Afro-Brazilian band playing Samba and Reggae. They brought enough instruments for everyone and taught the crowd their signature song “Batala”
This was an educational boat ride about the progress of cleaning up the Anacostia River. You learn about plants, different birds, turtles, and there's even a Ball Eagle's nest along the way! Great adventure for kids!
Best part of the day.

This park has all of the things that are too big to fit in the Naval Museum.
Best place to grow in DC
Great place to troll for hookers at 2am...those benches are soiled.
A must see DC icon!

Lovely outdoor area with seating and various naval historical pieces.
Really small urban park, squized on 6th street. But it has benches, a dedication sign and I think the earliest irises flowers.
A national treasure celebrating a remarkable American. Pythagoras would have been a huge fan.

For two years random cars are parking on the grass at Hancock park and the amount of cars is increasing. People are parking on the park property (for free) during the day while at work/conducting business. They have destroyed the grass and beautiful park (tire tracks and mud everywhere). I ride the VRE everyday and walk through this park twice a day. Nobody is monitoring the park and removing or ticketing these people who are parking their cars on park property for free.

It's a tiny little park on the side of the street. The recent addition of chairs and umbrellas make it a much more desirable place to hang out and eat lunch.

Good park that's really improved with recent development. Good picnic area for lunches and dinners, easy access to docks on the Anacostia for weekend activities, and good vistas for the sunrise. I'm not sure why anyone would install permanent ping-pong tables (especially ones outdoors and smaller than regulation size), but I suppose it's a bit quirky and fun. I've never seen anyone playing ping-pong. Perhaps it's time for a tournament.
Small, shady park! Go there to read or let your Dog run around

There is a cool little red cardinal that lives at this park. He is running the show, stop by and check him out sometime.

Small rectangular shaped park with meandering concrete path located above the 9th street tunnel south of the National Mall. Here, earth day is every day.

Quiet and relaxing are the words to describe this small park. This is not a place to come to play soccer or run around. It's more of a sitting park. There are many long benches to sit on and plenty of tree cover to get away from the sun. Great place to eat some food from FoBoGrow which is next door or a packed lunch from home.

Surrounded by magnificent trees this is a pleasant reprieve from the hustle of SW DC. Bounded by C Street on the north, the railroad tracks on the south, 7th Street on the east and 9th Street on the west this park is large enough to get away from the noise of this very busy neighborhood. Being adjacent to Le L'Enfant Metro and a Capital Bikeshare stand makes access very convenient. If you happen to be here at lunch time you can sample a large variety of the famous DC food trucks that park along adjacent 7th Street and Maryland Ave. There are no benches in the park. If you don't mind sitting in the grass you can find some shade and make this is a pleasant place to take your food truck meal.
