A lot of reviews are very very positive. Yes it's good food and yes the service is very nice. However, I think the quality price ratio is quite bad, food and wine paring. I have eaten in the surroundings better menus for less. It's very nice to combine two quisines that I love very much, but it's kind of out dated and not quite there.

Horrendous service. We asked to taste the wine before ordering it and we were lectured about how ‘ one does not do this, and that we should order a glass of we want to try the wine’ . We had to raise our voice to actually get them to agree to bring us a drop of wine to taste. The waitress eventually came without a smile or word and slammed the glass on the table . Food was average, service appalling. Don’t go there

Dishes sometimes lacked creativity in terms of taste, but overall very good. Wine and wine advising was top notch. Price is higher than better restaurants in Switzerland, there are only 3 choices of menus, and you can't order different menus at the same table. For the child they served overcooked pasta with cheese for 25 Euro.

Personally, the best restaurant with local cuisine in Elsace. Frog legs and snails - belissimo! Located in a nice town Riquewihr. I totally recommend.

The food was acceptable but nothing special but the service was so horrible to beat all the other bad service experiences in France . One waitress was actually calm and pleasant, but the obese, mid age, stressed lady was extremely rude. We tried to get her attention after 15 minutes of waiting to make the order amend she replied that she was very busy and that if we were in a hurry we should have gone to eat elsewhere. If we weren’t so tired we would have left on the spot. Those people that have no manners seriously should work in hospitality industry. Avoid at all cost.

Die vergangenen 3 Tage jeweils abends zum Essen dort gewesen. Kleine aber feine Speisekarte. Mehr braucht man nicht. Das Essen war klasse ebenso die Weine und der Cremant als Aperitif. Dazu kam ein hervorragender Service, welchen man nur sehr selten findet. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Preisniveau ist fair. Ich kann das Le Manala nur empfehlen und komme gerne wieder.

Fantastic spot amongst touristy town. Even advertises air conditioning; must get hot in the summer!
Amazing Soupe de Chou & Celeri! Seriously delicious. Had a 2017 Cremant Reflect Brut Nature by JC Buecher to start, and next a glass of 2018 Riesling Grand Cru Wineck Schlossberg by Henri Klee (paired excellent with soup).

A one star restaurant but what an experience. They differentiate themselves with a very innovative way of cooking making use of their own vegetable and herbs garden. The creations they make are unbelievable. They will at any course blow your mind with a superb mixture of a perfect course together with well chosen wines.

Your very Alsacien food restaurant with typical dishes from the region. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting area. Outdoor area is shaded with greenery. The only issue is some of the items in their menu are not available when asked. Some servers speak English. Kids and family friendly for sure

We've noticed that Riquewihr offers a very specific type of food - Alsatian food. And why wouldn't they? So we did our best to embrace the culture and upon arriving here we ordered 4 different wines to try along with some cheese covered spätzle. There wasn't a whole lot of seating but we were lucky to catch a little lounge toward the back of the restaurant outside under some umbrellas. Service was nice. The food was... cheesy. ;)

Many of the restaurants on the main street seemed to fill up pretty quickly for dinner and we had just arrived without a plan. So we wandered around a bit and found this lovely place! We were also excited to see some nice options that were vegetarian and somewhat light. Winning! There was a dish that just offered a salad, cooked veggies and some cheese on bread - that turned out to actually be really nice. And the vegetarian Flammkuchen really light and crispy and perfect! Service was nice and friendly and the wine was great!

So for our anniversary we decided we needed to do something special. We booked a table at Au Trotthus. Now, not going to lie, it really isn't cheap, but oh wow! Oh. Wow! The food was nothing short of sublime! We went for the Wagu tasting menu, and it was perfection on a series of plates. My own favourite was the tuna & salmon tartar, but every dish was a masterclass in balance. Nothing overpowered anything else. The portions were just right, and after 7 courses you were satisfied without feeling uncomfortably stuffed... and who knew black sesame ice-cream is a thing? Will we go again? In a heartbeat.

Just went there with my wife, I ordered the special with the white asparagus with a few slices of ham and 2 sauces (no complexity). Unfortunately 4/6 asparagus pieces were not peeled at all which I didn't notice with the first bite and I almost choked(!).

Please make sure that this very fundamental kind of processing is taken care of before getting the dish out of the kitchen - especially when we're talking about the main ingredient.

What I liked was the ambience and decoratation of the restaurant.

Overall a pretty unpleasant experience in one of the most beautiful places in France.

We were a group and had a lot of different menus, and non of them were good.

The risotto was made of porridge-rice and was way too over cooked. The steaks were dry and overdone too. No tastes on the platter harmonized. The salads were unappealing and so was the dressing.
Maybe the chef were sick that day, because nothing was thought through.

The appetizers had awkward tastes and nothing really worked to be honest.

The only good thing was the wine and the water.

Honestly, would not go back and please.. if you get the chance, go somewhere else as there are plenty other good restaurants in the town.

Outstanding experience. Every single dish was absolutely excellent. In our opinion (and with enough starred restaurants to compare), this place certainly deserves more than one Michelin star. Also, the service was absolutely professional. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Honestly not impressed, especially after experiencing the tasting menu at a 3 Michelin star restaurant in paris. The red everywhere gives the place a sinister vibe. I didn’t like a single dish. The cranberry on the cookie was wayyy too tart and had no components to calm that down. The service was also subpar; there were many times I had to wait a long time for a wine refill. Definitely not worth the money.

We were fortunate enough to have the almost undivided attention of chef Phillipe Aubron, the Wagu King, and his incredible Wagu beef and imaginative seafood dishes. Not for the unadventurous but certainly one of those experiences we'll never forget.

It's hard not to be impressed by a chef with such passion for their craft, such pride in their creations and someone who experiences such joy in the enjoyment of others. From start to end we savoured every flavour, every crumb and drop. We can't recommend this restaurant strongly enough, or the recommended wine pairing.

One day, we had a dinner outside - tasty food and the waiter was ok. The next day, we wanted to have some drinks and dessert inside, the have seated us and during the order, when the waitress found out we dont wanna have meals as well, she got very angry and told us we were let inside by mistake. She received our order though, delivered it and since then, nobody showed a slight little interest in us, so finally, we asked for a receipt and left. We felt very uncomfortable and i wouldnt go there anymore.

Absolutely wonderful, it’s the only restaurant that we went twice during our 6 days stay in Riquewihr. The staff were very friendly and approachable (especially children friendly, really appreciated that). We ordered pig knuckle, fried sea bass and a local dish that I really can’t remember the name (it was with cream, puff and homemade pasta), all very tasty and the portion was giant. I recommend 100%! Though make sure you reserve upfront as it’s fully booked everyday.

Good tasty affordable food some cooked right there on the street which you can eat undercover or take away or you can order indoors a full meal .

Prices are affordable and meals where all delicious definitely would stop back by when in the area again to try creamy potato dish out front as the potato and sausage dish was very delicious.

Had a stunning lunch here! A red decorated restaurant. That is why the pictures are a bit reddish. Food quality is good. A lot of sweet desserts at the end. Price for menu was 100 euro and with all the amuse with it we thing worth the money. We recommend this place !

Sitting under the grapes wich give a natural shade is nice.
The food is pretty good. The wine, we tried the pinot noir, very good. Staff is ok. Prices are on the higher end imo. 1/2 liter wine for 17€ is not cheap at all.

It is a good restaurant with fine Alsacien foods and especially when it is warm and hot the covered terrace is very comfortable because they have those water vapourers spraying from the ceiling.
We had a great lunch there 3 times.

Stopped here after driving in the Alsace region, for lunch on a very nice sunny day. Set in one of the side streets off the main road thru the city
The food in this restaurant called "the frog" I can say is fantastically tasty and very French. We ordered the cordon blu with the munster cheese, which was delicious.
We also ordered the chicken skewer, and beef skewer, they were both cooked to perfection, the beef was tender and succulent,as was the chicken, and tasted so so good, just yummy, accompanied with a bottle of pinot noir just wonderful.
The chef came out later and introduced himself and asked how the food was. Could not fault a thing.

Very good Alsatian specialities. Pork knuckle was flavorful and very tender. Much better than the average restaurant in Riquewihr. Service was very good and the wine selection was above average. Relatively inexpensive. Reservations recommended.
