Thank you for helping me get into a private rehab feels great

Awesome Place far boosted by recovery

Kolmac offers a multitude of services to help during every phase of recovery from and the team is dedicated to providing top notch support!

Option for virtual and in person is nice and flexible. I feel like unless you’re court ordered or super new to recovery, the intensive out patient program is rudimentary and seems standardized and one size fits all.
Also there isn’t a lot of practical application (for me) and the groups seem disorganized and session topics are disconnected. It’s like an open group talk therapy vs. a structured program (which I prefer structure). I keep going because an unstructured program is better than no program for me.

What a gem. Most places that offer an ADHD assessment for children have a six-month wait time, don't take insurance, and I assume require in-person appointments. Not only did these guys take my insurance and book me a virtual appointment in two weeks, I felt the provider actually listened to me, and talked about lesser-known effects of ADHD in girls, namely emotional dysregulation and rejection sensitivity. I know so many parents in my same boat and will be recommending AHS to them. Take note, providers, this is how ADHD assessments should go!

My Brother Louis just went and my entire family is so super grateful to jordy and the entire team
We had such an amazing experience
You don’t choose addiction
But you can choose where to get help
And we are so lucky to have chosen you
God Bless you and the entire Team
Would highly highly recommend to any other family seeking help

These people are SHADY, SHADY, SHADY ... They told me they called my insurance and my co-pay with my Tricare insurance would be $150 down and $200 a week.
I told the representative that that was too expensive. She said " well just give us a credit card"
My doctor called to find out why they were charging me. They said that was prices for people without insurance and that they never told me that was my co-pay. LIES!!
I read reviews for several of their locations. On average they have 2 1/2 stars and most reviews are negative.

The worst bed side manners I have ever experienced. In addition, provider repeatedly sent prescriptions to pharmacy without necessary information required to fill script. When I call provider to inform them of missing info and have them resend prescription, they act annoyed and drag their feet. This had led me being without my medication for weeks on end on multiple occasions. Plus side, font desk staff are lovely.

While you’re able to shower eat and sleep, there’s ample deficiencies in their operations management such as no cost free laundry services without asking for help. It smells of wet zoo animals in the dorms. A person should never need to ask for help. It should be apparent in that they’re homeless. Laundry Services should be part of the sanitation protocol. Common sense dictates that much. It boosts morale in a human being when he has clean clothes and is able to earn a living. I shouldn’t have to engage in secular politics to get clothes washed.

A person blocked Mt number when trying to call them

This program was great for me but they are not accurate and honest when discussing costs before you enter. I was told all I would have to pay was my co pay which I was doing along the way. Then 2 months after the program ended I received a bill over $3K . I asked to speak to someone in a supervisors role and never received a call back. Instead I was sent to collections which is totally unprofessional.
The clinicians are great the rest leaves a horrible taste in my month hopefully I will not need a resource again like this but I will definitely warn others about this.

Superficial group topics and poor communication/follow-through from case management. Don’t waste your time

ok so i spent a few days here. first i will say that it is a clean place and you get fed...but thats all the good i will say about it. i was not the correct color nor of the same mindset as the people who stay here or of those who work here. i was told we could not wear our hat inside...but yet others who were not white were allowed to wear thier hats without any problem. i attempted to get clothes many times...to no avail..always an excuse why no one could help me...the people who work the desk and have lived here for 3 years looked as if the needed to have a work out center as well. you could tell they lived well off this mission. i will never return and if i was you and i was not of a certain color i would not go here. i believe i may have to return and open a mission for caucassion people here.

Wow! The care of the clients is so inspiring I enjoy learning about the recovery process every day with this company

One of the best! Everyone was sweet and very understanding/accommodating
Highly recommend

The staff is invariably friendly and loving. The counselors helped me to build a foundation for a better life, each offering their own experiences and wisdom in ways I could never have anticipated.I am at home and with family when I walk through the doors. If you are struggling, if you are hurtling and unsure how to get your life back, I can think of no better place and no better people than Aquila to help.

This place provides over the top great food and snacks, They also provided great class all day, great one on session with your counselor, unlimited snacks, water, drinks through out your stay on a daily basis. Everyone is warm and welcoming so don’t worry about judgement cause this place is a keep it to your self judgement free zone. If your seeking help and truly want to get sober then call them. Really though, you won’t regret this place! This isn’t my goodbye, this I hope to see y’all one day again but under different circumstances. I love y’all Aquila Recovery Clinic!

I have no problem helping this mission. Because I no longer live in DC I am still able to help by donating to the Thanksgiving and Christmas funds. These holidays can be very lonely for those in need. I understand because I was also homeless at one time.

I love the detail and care that Aquila Recovery provides to everyone that walks into there doors. ❤️

Central Union Mission this is only male shelter in DC. For sure is a great blessing to be part of the RTP program. I am in my way to reach for Christ and keep for Christ . God bless you all the staff member of Central Union Mission. I am bless by the best because if God is with us who could be again us.In God we trust.

I've had some bad experiences with previous providers, but AHS has been very helpful!

This place deserves 5 stars off the intention alone of what they're doing, and attempting. To keep short, their not interested in holding your hands either. Can be a semi-rude, a points bit obnoxious. But they're really willing to help provide shelter and meal to those in need. Even those out of state. The intake process isn't too long, and the feed people in need (even those who do not reside within the residence) three times a day. A true marker for the community work being done within DC. I believe they could incorporate more group sessions or social gatherings addressing common man issues, but it's hard to ask for more because of everything they're already doing. If you know someone I'm need, this is a great place to for to come and heal. Just will have to find something to do while inside, thats all

When I was seeking treatment the pandemic was still in full swing so most of the treatment centers in my local area were not accepting new patients (or did not accept my insurance). Access Health was able to accept me as a new patient via their Telehealth service very quickly. Even though the treatment centers in my local are have opened back up I am sticking with Access Health, they are fast, friendly, and flexible with scheduling

Great services provided. A very helpful and caring staff.

Its a very very good place to be if you need help with your Mental issues. They will help you.

I've been working for Kolmac Outpatient Recovery for 7 months and it has been a very rewarding experience. I am honored to serve our patients.

Watch out! If you're thinking of attending addiction therapy at Aquila make sure you know this. Aquila will ask you to provide a urine sample each week, which I did.... ONCE. I just got my Explanation of Benefits from Carefirst BC/BS and was shocked that the lab they use, Apex Labs, submitted charges to my insurance company in the amount of $3,302.83. Carefirst coded many of the charges as "mutually exclusive procedures, those that overlap and/or lead to the same outcome" others were simply denied. I went there for alcohol issues, but apparently Aquila runs a full screen for every drug imaginable, 33 tests in total! My insurance paid for some of the charges, $576.01 to be exact, but the mere thought of them trying to bill such egregious amounts for these tests concerns me. When I called to express my concerns I was told they know the lab they are using is charging egregiously for the tests. What the heck? Thank god I have insurance to handle this for me. I can only imagine how I would have handled this if it was self pay. Please note, I went to Aquila of my own accord, no court order. I wanted help. I didn't go there to lie about my use and didn't need to prove my sobriety to anyone. They should have explained what they were testing for and why. I would have saved my insurance company a lot of money and declined the test.

I discovered Central Union Mission online, after my ex-students reported to me the issue of homelessness, among their peers in their public high school. If it were not for my beautiful students reporting this grave image that was etched in my conscience, I clearly would not be at this venerable organization.
The Mission has been a think tank for me - literally. The goals of the Mission is to restore the men, spiritually. So, that they can reconnect with family members and friends. And, to live successful lives.
The entire organization exemplifies courage, goodwill, trust, love and respect. I love it when I volunteer and someone says hello. A little kindness goes a long way. But, the secret is that kindness enables the men in the shelter to feel better about themselves, have more confidence, believe in themselves.
I have witnessed powerful transformations, due in large part to the certification programs offered at the Mission. These programs work! It's a successful formula. The men provides testimonies on a regular basis.
The Director provided invaluable information directly to my ex-students who were anxious to help their peers. The information will be with them for a lifetime. Think about these young people, our future leaders of America listening to a Director who has expertise on homelessness.
It was incredibly moving! I watched my ex-students faces. The powerful message was sinking in.
Finally, I am incredibly blessed to be working beside a Coordinator who works tireless. He shows compassion and commitment to everything he does, on behalf of the Mission.
His presentations regarding the history of the organization is so thoroughly inspiring. The volunteers walk away knowing something about this institution that they didn't know before they arrived. What a learning experience!
Thank you Central Union Mission for helping me to reach out more, share more, love more, support more. At the moment, I'm reaching for the stars, on behalf of the men in the shelter. To the men, YES, YOU CAN!

The staff is respectful and has a positive attitude all the way.

I have a family member who has been 45 days and wanted to start outpatient treatment at kolmac. After a few days of the program he met with the nurse practitioner. During the meeting she pushed vivitrol/naltrexone multiple times. He refused and told her that he doesn't want to use anything for his sobriety. She then proceeded to give him an ultimatum that if he doesn't take her advice and take one of these prescription drugs that she would kick him out of the program. He absolutely could not believe what he was hearing. It really makes me wonder what the true intention of this facility is - support for sobriety or pushing prescription drugs? It's really sad that people are coming here for help and the nurse is threatening to kick them out of the program for trying to stay sober without the use of additional drugs.

They have breakfast for overnight guests everyday that you have stayed there the previous night. Lunch for anyone. And dinner for anyone also. To secure a bedspace for the night you must be at the Mission between the hours of 2:30-6 pm. They secure beds for the elderly and physically disabled first. But you must stay inside of the facility once you have a bed. And you can not leave until after breakfast. So once in you must stay in. But it is the cleanest Men's shelter in the area. The rules in place make it safe, secure and polite for all.

Thank you guys for the good job you are doing by serving meals to the homeless. Keep up the good work. I helped to serve food here once and would do it again. If you are looking for some charity work to do while in Washington DC around Union Station then consider this place. You will be blessed.
