Had a wonderful evening at The Botanist Restaurant! The ambience was fantastic, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere perfect for a nice evening out. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which significantly contributed to our enjoyable experience.

Marlena, our waitress, was very patient with us and ensured we had everything we needed. Joanna, the manager, was attentive and made sure our visit was pleasant.
The food was delicious, exceeding our expectations.

If you’re looking for a place with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service, The Botanist Restaurant is definitely worth checking out.
Superb hanging kebabs (the standard chicken is all you need if you are a meat-eater, go for loaded fries with buffalo sauce with them), gorgeous building, buzzing area, top service. Perfect weekend night out with mates.
Typical gig venue looking like it’s stuck in the late 90’s early 00’s facilities ok but again could do with being upgraded the atmosphere was great and the show was good
Visited this venue to see Casey McQuillen.

A very intimate venue but really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were really friendly.

Would definitely recommend a visit even if it's just for a drink.

Was surprised at how small this little hidden gem was. We went to see Casey McQuillen on the last night of her tour. It was friendly, felt safe and was a really fun and cosy venue to see emerging artists perform. Drinks were priced well but standing up all night was tough on my back but didn’t spoil the night for me.

Great venue! Thank for bringing us a great show
Not a bad little cocktail bar, with top shelf decent spread or runs, whiskeys and gin.
Not cheap either...
Usually have live music and that's rather nice
Not too busy either.
Older crowd...as in over 30's.
Good place to chill away from the rowdy joints along temple street.

Was in the balcony section and was forced to sit down by security/events staff, I get they was doing the job but forcing people to sit down at a concert is stupid, I get not everybody may want to stand but nobody was complaining and seemed to enjoy the concert more when standing. Being forced to sit down really put a downer on the experience specially when you consider the view when sat down, paid £40/£50 for my ticket for my view to be pretty much completely blocked by the railings etc and could probably see about 20% of the stage where as standing up had a full view of the whole stage. If this is the case either allow people to stand (those that are not on the front row) or list these tickets as restricted view
Such a lovely little place, the interior design is so beautiful and well thought out. The cookie dough desert was incredible. I liked the way you could pay and leave a tip of a device it made leaving quicker instead of waiting around for the bill for ages. Loved it :)

Took my 15 year old to her first ever gig and had a great time. We sat in the balcony and had a fantastic view of the bands and the mosh pit. Drinks were a bit pricey, but that's not unexpected
Confusing queue systems before getting in. Slightly expensive drinks, but overall a decent music venue. More accessible womens toilets would be good for those that struggle with stairs.

Great venue fantastic night out even if it did run out of lager !
Kim petras was amazing and the team put on a perfomance 👏 the venue was nice, looked well maintained, and had adequate access.

The bars OK, didn't have much on other than cider and beer, but I didn't much mind, staff were attentive and friendly

Standing is mildly obstructed by pillars, but there was plenty of room.

As a smoker, i was glad to see a designated area that wasn't a trek to get to.

And let's say this, I have been to enough gigs to know the bathrooms are usually disgusting. But this place seemed some what clean.

Would visit this venue again.

Great live venue in Digbeth, plenty of parking nearby, decent pubs for a pre-gig beer.
The cocktails are very good. An excellent simple menu and good choices for those with dietary restrictions. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

As always, the music at the New Year's Gala was fantastic, but very little atmosphere this year due to moving the event to the afternoon. This was even more apparent from the amount of empty seats at a typically sell-out concert. Many people were disappointed with the atmosphere, but again, the music was fantastic and beautifully played.

Tidy, well kept and reasonable prices on refreshments. The arena itself was grand with its size helping create a brilliant atmosphere when seeing the London orchestra, playing the amazing Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, Avatar and more. All a good price, would highly recommend.

Outstanding we had a fantastic time here watching the Grinch in concert but please beware when booking a ticket for a event the grand circle is extremely high so people who are scared of heights this is definitely not the place to sit the duty manager Tom who was on that day was great and he was very kind to reseat us as we booked tickets on the grand circle has we have never been here before and it was just to high so thank you very much Tom without you we would of had to go home and miss the show i highly recommend this fantastic venue it was truly an amazing show.
Great band venue. Go early for seating as it's a tiny place. It's definitely worth checking out.

Fantastic concert venue - the best for classical music in the country in my opinion. Comfortable seats too. Bars and plenty of toilets.
Great little venue. Friendly staff and a decent choice of reasonably priced beers.
Amazing night at the Alex as always. Watched The Bodyguard for my birthday. Phenomenal performance.
We had stalls this time and a great view
Went to see the bodyguard. Wow superb. From start to finish, I could watch it all over again.
But I have to say a huge thank you to the theatre staff. Particularly Andy who assisted myself and my daughter from the moment we arrived and then checked on us to make sure all was OK. Thanks Andy you made it even more memorable.

Went to see the Aussie Pink Floyd. The hall is fantastic with comfortable seating. Parking was good at Q-Park about a ten minute walk away. The staff were generally pleasant except one over officious little security man at the VIP Q&A, which leads me to the not so good. The feed back from the box office about the VIP tickets wasn't good. When we got there none of the security knew anything about the VIP pre-show and sent us to the door for the main show (2 different fellas!) Finally we found the desk hidden away and a lady came over and ushered us in. All in all....a great venue with mostly pleasant staff but get there early and don't expect great communication before the event.
Great venue! Really nice room in the Academy2 to see Electric six, and it sounded great.
Only negative for me was that the drinks prices were extortionate! I had a few drinks in Birmingham before hand and they were considerably cheaper than in the academy.
What a great venue. Hadn't been here before, but chose O2 Academy Birmingham because of previous excellent experience at O2 Ritz Manchester (which wasn't one of the venues this time around for the Billy Strings Europe Tour). We are so glad that we made the right decision. All of the staff were absolutely brilliant. All so kind, thoughtful, caring and respectful. In this day and age, it's rare to come across such high standards of customer care. As an "Access" ticket holder, it was important to me that my mobility needs were considered. The lift was a huge help, as I struggle with stairs and the lift attendant was very polite and clearly very disability aware. We had a fantastic view from the upstairs balcony, which was reserved for myself and other "Access" ticket holders and the seats were comfortable too.
I would 100% recommend O2 Academy Birmingham, without any hesitation whatsoever !
Incredible venue, best sound engineering and live mixing I have experienced
I've been there for a open day with my daughter, and I can say i was blessed. The lady that had the speech for the future students (she has a polish surname, but I can't remember the name) just convinced even myself that i should go to that university. Top place, top people 🙏
Great little venue, highly recommend it 👍🏻👍🏻

I am standing outside the venue in the rain doors for the band were supposed to be 7 i have that on my ticket -its now 8.50 -the q of people is up the road -no information no staff on the door no nothing -if i could give the venue a zero for communication i would. Can i have my money back ? -thought about posting something on instagram guys ..no too complex for you? but you are able to use it to advertise the gig?-Update the gig is now open its 9.07 -all bands will play short sets ...if you are unhappy take it up with Live Nation i have been told ...nice!

A beautiful space within the International Conference Centre.
The reception areas with bars outside the levels are nice and work well as buffer areas for people entering and leaving the hall. There are lifts and stairs so accessibility is good and there are toilets at each level and they are clean and well maintained
The staff are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable if they have time to talk about the building and their work there.
I didn't realise that the Hall houses an organ that was being played while people were taking their seats. It was a nice surprise, but I felt the choice of music didn't really demonstrate the full capability of the organ, but music is a very personal thing and this is only my view.
Seating is comfortable for a couple of hours, but the hall was a little too warm for the duration of our visit and lots of people were using their programs as fans - wear layers so you can cool down if necessary.
It's a beautiful well organised venue and I would be happy to return for concerts or other events.
This place is nice. It's got that cosy feel where you want to hang out with your friends. The food is great, and the choice of beers is good as well. The staff were unfortunately understaffed and overworked, yet attentive but slightly absentminded, probably due to the workload. Eg, they were unaware of what is unavailable and would take the order and return to inform us of unavailability. They also forgot to bring us one dish that was ordered, which we finally cancelled. Would go back again and recommend it to all.
Fyi the soul shack wasn't there.
Dismal, dank, depressing place, no atmosphere, felt dirty and oppressive when walking in. Only one toilet operative.

Feel sorry for the act we went to see. Thankfully we'd seen her earlier in the tour, we stayed for a couple of songs and left. Had planned to come to another show in a couple of weeks but I'll try and see him elsewhere now, definitely won't be coming back here for anything.

Went to see Alfie Boe, a great show with an unexpected guest, as Roy Wood joined him for a couple of songs. Staff were good, and the only slight criticism was that the queue was too long for the drinks, as there seemed to be a problem with the card machine.
Nice building, and I thought great acoustics. We went to see a violinist and had a wonderful time. It's not a huge venue by any means. It's on campus, don't expect too much in terms of refreshments, other facilities etc.

Went to a gig here, and found myself doing it with a crutch, shortly after knee surgery. No way to get around the stairs, of course - but the staff were all incredibly helpful and understanding, and made it possible for me to still enjoy the event. Absolute stars.

Great gig venue, too.
Beautiful building and a fantastic concert by Esther Abrami, the acoustics are fabulous, really enjoyed our evening, lovely staff and talented Esther made it a great night😊😁, and to meet her afterwards and get photo's and a signed promo card, amazing night❤

Beautiful Hall. Cheerfull staff. Pitty all bars aren't open upstairs for pre concert drinks earlier. We were crammed into the foyer bar having to sit on the stairs - not ideal. Paul Carrack was amazing. Support artist depressing.
Friendly staff make for a lovely experience at The Sunflower lounge
Visited here to see a band in the basement room and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Staff are lovely and allowed us to try a beer to see if we liked it
Prices are average for city centre with a good choice of beer.
Will definitely visit again

Amazing concert. CBSO are fabulous. Their new conductor, Kazuki, is inclusive, energetic and entertaining. Sheku Kanneh-Mason was so accomplished, he put so much emotion into his wonderful interpretation of Shostakovich cello concerto. Thank you 😊
Had a really enjoyable evening here, Starving Dogs put on a good show. Reasonably priced drinks and a great crowd.

I was very impressed by the quality of performance for children. My daughter enjoyed the show reasonable well, the venue was clean and well maintained, the staff was friendly and helpful.
Great place with amazing atmosphere, friendly service, and fantastic food! Had a lonely dinner experience! The place is very cosy, has a great atmosphere with all the lovely decoration. It's quite big - there are tables outside, bar area, few dining rooms inside and lavatories on the lower ground floor.

We were greeted at the door and asked if we had a booking, we didn't but still managed to get a table. It was Thursday night, so it wasn't that busy. The service was very friendly and fast.

The food menu has interesting dishes, a variety of vegetarian options, and their famous kebabs. I definitely recommend the chicken one. It's served either with chips, couscous, or coconut rice. I went with chips, and they were so crispy. The kebab was also delicious. There is a variety of drinks as well, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. I really liked the alcohol-free Mind mojito. The deserts are out of this world! I had the most amazing Orea chocolate cookie dough! The prices are also reasonable.

It was a great experience, and I definitely recommend this place!
Great venue, esp. to see my son awarded his degree. Impressive exteriors and fine stained glass window inside the hall, including a panel of "electroplating" of all things
Just checking out the theatre where Dirty Dancing is starting Tuesday for the week. Heard some old Dixie in the stalls bar? I’ll include my day In Birmingham. First time I’ve performed here proper. Exquisite buildings and shopping areas here. I love it.
Great Rolling Stones tribute show. Lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. But £ 7.30 for a bottle of beer!? Amazingly, no queues at the bar during the interval. Wonder if they've made the connection...

We always enjoy our time at the Alexandra theatre.
Is a nice place to see a good show and be well entertained.
The price of snacks and drinks isn't cheap but you're in the heart of Birmingham and it's to be expected.
The staff are super friendly and really helpful if you have any questions or needs they'll do as much as they can to help.
Friday date night.
Staff were welcoming and friendly our server was Rachel who was excellent.
I had the salt and pepper pork skewer with coconut rice was delicious pork was tender.
The burger my partner had was tasty as well.
Both dishes worth the money was disappointed with my after dinner cocktail too much ice, the glass it was served in and having a big slice of kemon/lime actually in the glass it was a twist on a white Russian.
The live music that was on very talented overall had a great evening. Recommend going here again.

Great theatre with lovely staff. This was our first visit to The Alexandra and it was wonderful. It's only a short walk from New Street train station so easy to get to. The main box office entrance is just across the road from the rear entrance so make sure you get the right one. It's very nice inside, the seats are comfortable and the sound was great. The stage is a very good size and we had no trouble seeing from our seats in the stalls. The prices at the bar are a little high but the norm for a theatre, and there was a live piano player who was excellent.
We saw "The Ocean at the End of the Lane", based on the Neil Gaiman book, which was the best show we have ever seen. A dark fantasy tale, both scary and emotional with incredible production values. We will definitely be back. Recommended.

Absolutely thrilled with tonight's Movie Magic performance by The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra @TheCBSO.
Listening to these world renowned pieces of music from box office hits was spine tingling. The highlights for me was: Harry Potter, The Avengers, Jaws, Back to the Future, The Great Escape, Star Wars, Star Trek and many other fantastic pieces, bringing back emotions and memories of when I first watched these great films.
We were visiting the University of Birmingham campus for other reasons, but wandered in for a coffee. We got a lovely welcome from the guy behind the counter and the coffee was great.

We loved the decoration.on the walls that celebrated the live music gigs played at the uni dating back to the 1960s, and the corner devoted to Joy Divisions last gig there was very special.

I had one of the most amazing experiences here meeting 6 of the Neighbors cast at the celebration tour. The show was incredible. The theater is beautiful and the staff were really helpful. There is a lot of recycling facilities right in the bar which we love to see. The whole night was very well orchestrated, hugely helped by the amazing tour manager but the venue staff must have worked very hard to pull everything together too. The security guy was very reassuring when I was late.

Great small performance space for music. There are lots of concerts here of various styles, generally classical and contemporary music. What a wonderful theatre! Loved the decor. Good sound and lighting. Seating is a bit tight, both in leg room and width.

Pink Martini was amazing on the evening that I went.

Access to the theatre is pretty good. From parking next door to getting into and out of the theatre.

Good ratio of bars and food outlets to audience. I didn’t wait too long to be served.
My sons gigs here are so good as well as other live bands. Great vibe and atmosphere.

Nice venue and good, huge function room upstairs. Great for big functions. My critisms would be the lack of bar upstairs and the ladies toilets. Can tell they have been revamped but the walls and ceiling are quite bad. I rate it 3.5 stars but google does allow half star rating!

Had an amazing experience at city banqueting from the first consultation to the end of my event. Nicky was exceptional and on hand to answer all my queries as I was quite nervous and hadn’t organized a event before. She put me at ease and guided me every step of the way. Our event was amazing and all the guests thoroughly enjoyed and we had really positive feedback. The food was served hot and tasted lovely - we trusted Nicky and didn’t trial the food and were not disappointed! Thank you so so much once again Nicky! You and your staff were amazing!!

We had a party on the weekend. I dealt with Nicky, from the onset, attention detail was of importance, she was on hand to answer any questions I had (even if they were little late in the day), nothing was too much trouble. The venue in the day exceeded our expectations, she delivered well above what we wanted, her team were amazing, food was hot and nothing was too much trouble. Over the course of sorting out the party, Nicky has become a good friend, all mainly due to her friendly, bubbly personality. Finally a venue and team that I look forward to working with again!!!!

Where do I start!? We had an party for 120 people. This was our first time using this hall but Nicky has been an absolute gem in helping my family plan out our event, from the decor to the food.
Service was BRILLIANT on the day of our event. Staff were very attentive too.
Venue itself was lovely along with the decor arrangments.
I can't really fault it to be honest. We had a fab time and had massive compliments on the day about the venue and the food.
I would not hesitate to book my next event here and, in fact, look forward to hosting one in City Banqueting Suite again.
Thank you Nicky and team.

Worked with the CBSO as part of assorted projects featuring my school.

Staff and musicians go out of their way to help and are really making music accessible through their community initiatives, breaking down the barriers between an orchestra and young audiences.....quite literally walking amongst them as they perform!!

Do yourself a favour and go see them in action. Hairs on the neck stuff once they fire up!! Uplifting and a great day/night out.

Very lovely place, the manager Nikki was very helpful and friendly... she and her team really gave the best support ever... they were able to manage the large no of pple at the party and still managed to put up a smile... will definitely recommend . And i must say Nikki was very understanding with good response from the start.
Manger Nicky was extremely helpful, friendly & professional & went above & beyond her duties. This is the 4th time I have had the opportunity to coordinate with her & her team & each time has been excellent. Even the Owner stayed & assisted myself & my team at the end of yet another successful event. The Bar staff & Security were both welcoming & attentive, So I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I would highly recommend The Banqueting Suite as a viable, cost effective venue choice which comes with a high level of service that is unfortunately very rare within today's society as a whole.

Could not fault this place at all. Hired the downstairs hall for engagement party. Only 100 people but catering was included to avoid any headaches. Have to say Nicki..or Nicky..was brilliant as were the waiters. Hall was clean and tables and chairs nicely decorated. We had a car park for guests and a space reserved outside the hall for the all important car. Staff even stood near the door to stop annoying lil kids running out. Excellent. Was really impressed and all the guests left singing praises for the place and service provided. Cannot understand the negative reviews, we got a stress free amazing service start to finish. Will definitely consider booking again.
Fantastic small music venue and bar. One of the venues on The Decoy and Freeze The Atlantic tour. Great sound engineer!
Good wide choice of drinks available.
