We love coming to this spot for their all-you-can-eat sushi! The service is always top-notch, and the sushi is consistently fresh and delicious. The quality is excellent, and we've never been disappointed. It's become our go-to place for sushi, and we always leave happy and satisfied. Highly recommend for sushi lovers!

Nice staff, always friendly and they welcome you with a huge smile. The best part are the meals and extra gadgets they have. They have a conveyor belt with sushi plates (the inner Child in me is showing up) and a train that transports the sushi to where you are!!!
They also have boats....yes you read that right.....BOATS of sushi to order.
It is an amazing place with a great atmosphere in the middle of Japan town here in San Jose

We have been coming here for years! We have set at the Sushi Bar, main dining area and the makeshift “patio” areas countless times. Each have their own feel to it, but the amazing food remains the same no matter where you sit. Kristy is our favorite waiter. She is great. And Yuki San is just the best sushiwoman period. We also often order it to-go and the food is still yummy. I personally think they are the best south bay sushi restaurant!

The food is decent, but I had a bad experience with the service.
I ordered the California Combination from the lunch special menu, and was given the complete wrong thing. When I pointed this out, I was brushed off with "yeah that's the lunch special". Didn't have time to fight for it to be remade, and wait for that to get done, so they got to pick what I had for lunch today. 😑
This will probably put me off the place for a long while.

My family has been eating at Gombei since before I was born so this review is long overdue (I’m 31 at the time of writing this review). It’s still my favorite Japanese restaurant, and one of my favorite restaurants period. The food is delicious and comforting, and the service is always efficient. I love Gombei ❤️

My girlfriend and I were excited try this place because we didn't see anyone in it. After this review you can see why.
SERVICE - We first sat down and our waiter took our drink order and recommended the hanabi. So we ordered the hanabi and a veggie tempura. The hanabi took about 10 minutes. We were brought out a shrimp tempura but we refused it because we ordered a veggie so they took it back. That is fine but then after at least 10 minutes later our waiter comes back and asks "you guys didn't want the shrimp tempura anymore?" lol why ask that. We finally also ordered our entrees after that. We get our tempura finally and they were missing some of the veggie specified in the menu. It's fine but if it's specified in the menu I expect it to be there. Just put assorted veggies in the description. The tempura was good until my girlfriend ate some raw batter in the bell pepper. I'm lucky I took a picture because when I told the waiter he took the plate away so fast. He thought an ice cream dessert was a reasonable fix. We barely saw him the whole time we were at the restaurant until his friend left we started seeing our waiter more.
FOOD - the Hanabi was hard to eat. The avocado was stuck to the plate. The ponzu was good and the yellowtail was good too. The tempura was not as described on the menu. The tempura sauce didn't really have too much flavor. One piece of the tempura was raw. Udon was sweet but the tempura flakes made it good. The noodles were over cooked, they didn't have a bounce to them. The ramen was ok just go to ramen nagi. The noodles were over cooked also. The toppings were good tho. Negitoro flavor tasted muted. The cucumber over powered everything. There was a laughable amount of green onion. Free ice cream was good had an orange jam with it that made it taste great.
AMBIANCE - Looks nice and modern but food and service couldn't justify it.

We tried their special sushi rolls and all were tasty. Their veg tempura roll is also yummy.

The service here is above average. Our server was very attentive and nice.
Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. We had so many leftovers that we brought home because the food was just not tasty.
The atmosphere was bleak also. Watching sushi rolls on the conveyor belt as brown pieces of avocado adorned sad looking rolls was depressing. And the interior was very drab.

I was very impressed by the $39.99 AYCE at Kenzo Sushi, and I think it's the best in the Bay Area. (IMO better than Ultra Sushi, Sushi 85, and Daiki Sushi.)
I think the only one that is close is Ultra Sushi, and I think this place is better because:
1. You can order as much as you want as frequently as you want
2. The service is much better
3. There is a wider variety of rolls
4. Much wider variety of sides.
Kenzo offers a ton of delicious rolls, hand rolls, nigiri (if you get premium), and sides. Now normally, I don't really eat many sides at AYCE sushi places, but this place has so many good Korean ones (fried chicken, tofu soup, tteokbukki, Korean corn dogs). I think the variety is so nice when you get tired of eating just sushi.
The rolls are top-notch and there are so many that do not have any imitation crab, which I think is great. (I don't like how for most AYCE sushi places, all rolls are stuffed with imitation crab.) The sushi cuts are generous, and the tuna is the best tuna I've had in an AYCE place in the bay area. (Not dry and has flavor)
Highly recommend this place, as an AYCE sushi lover!

This place has some amazing and authentic Japanese food. The interior is a little small with a bar side and regular seating. It was very busy (during peak lunch). Since it was busy it took a little longer for us to get our orders in and our waters, but the wait was definitely worth it. I ordered a Soba and Pork Cutlet combo #6 on the special menu. My cousin got the #2 special combo. Both of the dishes were great. The soup for the Soba was loaded with flavor and umami. I will be back to try a different dish! :)

Decent food, decent service. Short list of fish compared to other places I’ve been to. Quality won’t be as good in comparison to some other places; it will be cheaper in LA or Sacramento.
But hits the AYCE sushi spot !

I've been trying to go here for almost a year now and every time I make it they either just closed or I accidentally went on a Sunday/Monday. This was such a great place to eat! The staff were super friendly and got us seated right away! The food was fantastic and the variety is so cool because the daily specials really are specials since they seem to almost never stay the same. The portion size and flavors are truly top tier as well and their location and atmosphere really make you feel like you're stepping into a tiny piece of Japan! I can't wait to get more food this next time!!!

No exaggeration, best Japanese food I've ever tasted. I had the curry with chicken cutlets, and my partner had teriyaki chicken and shrimp which she also very much enjoyed.
Portions are generous and very well worth their price. Servers are very kind and the kitchen staff are absolutely on point.
This is a must eat for us every time we're in San Jose from now on!

My new favorite local sushi place. Beautiful presentation and delicious taste. Hot the sushi platter, sushi and sashimi, and flaming dragon roll for two people. Just enough. By the way, their miso soup is also really good it’s a standalone building and the area is a little divey but inside is nice, clean. Service is fast and friendly.

The food is amazing! You must visit this restaurant while you are here. They offer sushi, sashimi and more.

Have visited Ozumo a few times and quality is a hit or miss.
The last time we visited, the quality was not what I was expecting for the price you pay at a “high end” restaurant.
Dishes are beautifully created and served and the restaurant can get very loud during peak times.

Food was good. The service was slow. I went for lunch at 1pm and it took a while to get served. I had to ask for utensils. The Bento box was a good size for the price. Utensils were all plastic, and felt cheap. Even the spoon for the Miso soup wants the usual big spoon but a cheap plastic normal spoon. The service was for four people scattered so between the first and last there were 5 minutes. No big deal but few things that reduce the overall experience. When it was time to leave, I had to search for someone to pay. Service was done half with a human and half with a cool little robot who navigated the floor.

Good place for sushi and Japanese dishes.
We ordered bento and grilled unagi.
Food was good and tasty, and the service was good.
Would go there for a casual outing or quick meal, but not on date or formal dining.

We have visited many restaurants, and this is our favorite one in the whole South Bay! The food is always excellent, the service is top-notch, and we always look forward to coming back for chirashi, bento boxes, and other yummy dishes.

If you are looking for a home style, Japanese food, then this is the place to go. They always have new chef specials on the wall, and just all around all of the food here is good. The staff are always friendly and smiling. I love this place!

This has to be my favorite sushi spot in San Jose. The employees are friendly. The kitchen and sushi chef's ypu can tell you have a lot of knowledge. It's a great place to eat if you are an experienced sushi monger!

I’ve been a loyal customer for 2 years, dining at least 2 times per month. This May I found a piece of aluminium in my udon. I notified the waiter who called the manager. I was NOT offered a new bowl of udon because “I’m not going to finish it”. Instead, they tried to brush it off with free edamame and a bowl with half the udon and no meat.
I’m VERY DISSATISFIED with how the staff handled this situation. Will not be coming here again. Your stinginess on 1 bowl of udon is costing a loyal customer who spends hundreds of dollars if not more per year.

Came here for lunch for the first time in a decade. Food was still just as good as I remember! Quality fish and tasty flavor combinations. Hand roll was a little loose but still tasted amazing. Service felt a bit slow though, not sure if they were understaffed that day? Atmosphere was on. TV screen with Kpop music videos and completely different Kpop music playing so that was kind of weird. Not as good a vibe as I remember from the past, but it was ok. Came here for the food anyway, which did not disappoint, so I'll be back again someday!

Sanraku is definitely my favorite japanese restaurant. I think their sushi and sashimi is really good but their kitchen dish is definitely the attraction. They have a appetizer with duck which is my favor and their chicken karaja is always very good. They have a dish with egg steam with mushroom and crab meat that was amazing. Lastly their spicy beef udon with ground beef is also very tasty.
Their service are good but sometime there is long wait and better to give reservation.
Their decor wood tradition remodeling which looks fantastic.

Echoing many other reviews: Sanraku is some of the best sushi in the South Bay. And you can find it in a mall. I ordered the salmon oyako don with extra ikura and it was fantastic. They’re quite generous with the portions here, especially with ikura. I’ll definitely come back to try more dishes.

The Sashimi Deluxe was good. The Classic Poke Bowl was big!

It's been quite a few years since we came here and we were really glad that the quality of the home cooked style dishes are still as outstanding as before. Stuffed tofu was an unique take on such homey food. Prices are still very reasonable. Definitely need to come back soon for all those specials also. Two thumbs up.

Sanraku at oakridge is one of my favorite japanese restaurant in the bay area. The unique part of this japanese establishment is NOT sushi or nigri but rather the choices of hot dishes! One of my absolute favor is really its chicken karage which is chicken thigh fried. There are also other hot dishes such as hot butter calm and salmon hamachi.
Service wise is above average. Sometime it does take a long wait but it is worth it. The staff is friendly. The decor is also special it use wood slabs as wall to half separate thr mall and the restaurant.
I also love its special japanese decoration anf remodeling!

I don’t usually leave a review or at all, even if it is really bad. Well, my favorite place here that I’ve visited for years, has extremely disappointed me so much that I just can’t justify a next visit ever again. Ordered at 4:50pm(opens at 5pm) for pickup at 5:30pm
I’ve ordered:
Garlic Roll
Nigiri Seared Salmon x 2
Nigiri Yellow Tail x 2
Nigiri SkipBack x 2
First off, the rice was taken out too early. If you have a rice cooker, you’ll know how it tastes and feel when the moment you take it out after it finishes. It felt soggy with a bit of crunch. That goes for both the roll and nigiri I’ve ordered. I think rice is just as important if not more than the fish itself..
Secondly, the nigiri I’ve ordered did not taste fresh. There is no savory-ness and is really bland. If I were to close my eyes, I couldn’t tell you which is what... Rice was bland and did not taste sweet like sushi rice should. I’m sure the roll and nigiri are from the same rice, undercooked.
Thirdly, how old are leftover sushi from earlier the day??? Why is the tuna so dark?? Shouldn’t this “skipjack” tuna be a bit red-brown???
Sad to say but for $80, the rice could have at-least been better. I just can’t see myself visiting a place I’ve liked for years that did extremely poor on this delivery of sushi. Just don’t order or be here right when they open, you’ll most likely get their scrap and rushing. No matter what price range you pay($5 a piece per nigiri), quality won’t be checked and you’ll just have to be lucky to get fresh quality ones. I’ve had bad nigiri but not this rice-bad.
Not sure what happened in today’s order or if it is just bad timing, but I’ve had better in previous visits(10+) and enjoyed every visits besides today.

Sushi Koya never disappoints! We arrived right when they reopened at 5:00 pm and were the first ones there. The service was incredibly fast, and the food was amazing as usual. I absolutely love their Honeymoon Rolls – the mango is always fresh, unlike many other sushi places. Their signature Battleship is simply delicious. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for top-notch sushi!

Every time I go here, everyone says hello. They food is great, and the presentation is beautiful, it is like art work. Clean bathrooms and helpful staff! Not to mention, the food is excellent with large portions!

First time here, the food is a bit over price for the small portions. The service is just ok. The food tastes ok, nothing spectacular about it. The plates were not very clean, I think next time I will look to dine at other sushi places in Japanese Town.

We ate here for Friday lunch and selected the premium option.
The nigiri was really good, decent amount of fish and less rice than sushi. We mostly order nigiri. We got some side dishes but nothing stood out. Since we paid the dinner price, we were able to order items that were only available at dinner. I think it's worth it if you can eat a lot.
Service was good as well.

Kenzo is the AYCE sushi restaurant my husband and I eat whenever we visit our family in SJ. The prices are average for a sushi AYCE and you order through the online QR code. They have take out too if you want to just take food home. Their menu have expanded a lot so there's something for everyone here.

Hands down, without a doubt, the worst sushi I've had the displeasure of having. Atmosphere wasn't very good, and the service staff was nice but cleary knew their restaurant was poor.
I got a basic tempura shrimp roll with variety fish on top, and it was just devoid of fish and shrimp. Mostly rice which was all mushy and room temperature. Felt like someone left it sitting out for an hour. Even the ginger was bad - it seemed like it was just sitting in a fridge uncovered because it was very weak in flavor and had a strange aftertaste.
I saw another reviewer mention this was equivalent to market sushi, and I have to disagree. This is WORSE. I think supermarket sushi might be better for the price you end up paying. This isn't "beginner-level" sushi, this is a place you take someone to if you want them to dislike it entirely.
Definitely was looking forward to trying this place due it having 4.5 stars, but that rating is an absolute lie. Just like many other restaurants in the Almaden Expressway area, it was overpriced and poor quality. STAY AWAY!

The waitress warned us that the large sushi rolls are really big and we didn’t think much of it but the “large” sushi rolls were some of the largest I have ever seen! Definitely should experience.
Also got a bento where the salmon was a bit dry. They were nice to give out miso soup to the little one.

Very well paced and lovely AYCE sushi place! For the amount of food my partner and I got (totaling about $200 dollars if a la carte) we paid about 83 excluding tax. The fish was very fresh and the portions VERY generous. Get one or two rolls then wait a little for more. It’ll be more than you think.

This cute little place a very flavorful food! I had the teriyaki steak very tasty and cooked perfectly. The only complaint I have is that the side vegetables were very cold. Other then that I would highly recommend.

Great Sushi/Nigiri place in Santan Row.
Crispy salmon was decent - salmon was great but rice was not as good. Overall, we enjoyed fresh fish.
Sake was bit on the expensive side but good quality.
Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, I recommend this place.

Sunday late afternoon in October of 23. Just found my recipe. Had good memories of an excellent dining with my daughter and the other woman I love. The whole dining experience was perfect as it should be.
We had Dragon Crunch, Futomak i, Honcho, Sunomono, and Dohyo. All were satisfied.
Thanks.

Ginza has been our go to local sushi restaurant for years. It was tasty, not crazy expensive, and very consistent. But some months ago it was bought by new owners and the quality immediately went down. We tried it twice after it was bought and decided we're just not going back anymore. It's such a bummer because it was our birthday/date night place and now we don't have a close place to go 😞

The deco is modern, the shrimp tempura are crispy and light. The Sakura cocktail is well prepared with tasty flavors, but the dry lemon on the side seems extra (a waste). The waiters keep asking if we want to order more before we finish what we ordered. 🙄

As you enter the restaurant you get to see the bar. Seems small but is actually quite spacious in the back.
Staff is friendly and happy. Our server seemed to enjoy working here.
Well to start off the food was delicious. I forgot the exact names for the food but I had the fish. The drink was flavorful and smooth to give a buzz. The sushi was Delicious.

Located in a charming setting, this sushi place offers a pleasant dining experience both indoors and outdoors. The cozy outdoor seating, complete with heating, rivals the inviting atmosphere found inside, which boasts a welcoming bar area. While the food is good, it falls short of being exceptional. Despite a diverse menu featuring a variety of sushi options, including classic rolls, there's a lack of innovative dishes to excite the palate.
However, the service leaves something to be desired. Though adequate, there's room for improvement. Our experience was marred by small oversights, such as not being asked our preferred size for sake and having to request water refills. Additionally, our table was missing a soy sauce cup, highlighting a need for better attention to detail.
Overall, while the ambiance and food quality make this sushi spot a decent choice for a casual meal, its service shortcomings prevent it from truly standing out among its competitors. With some tweaks to its service standards, it has the potential to elevate the overall dining experience.

Very cozy place. The chicken teriyaki tasted great. It has the smell of charcoal. Be sure to arrive early. The waiting line is about 15-30 mins. Also, they have daily specials menu.

Went to the restaurant as we were having a family get together for the holidays. We had a reservation, were seated pretty quickly. Gave our order as we had an event after dinner
Food came out intermittently, so some people had food, others were waiting.
One person in the group did not get their food, and the wait person did not come by for some time. In letting the wait person know that one order was not received, they checked and said the order was given to another table, and had to remake the order and would waive that charge.
We had two people order the tonkatsu, the meat was pretty dry and pretty chewy. The rice served was gummy and not enjoyable.
Overall not a compelling experience.

They totally remodeled and did a wonderful job. Excellent food. Fun robot delivery on the sushi boat. The cold soba noodles were amazing. The fish has always been hyper fresh and well cut. I love this place.

Craving a quick sushi dinner we ended up at Ginza Sushi which happens to be a quick walk away form our abode. They have ample parking spots around though we didn't need one as we walked in there.
Happened to be a weekday and it wasn't too crazy in there and we were seated right away. The ambience at Ginza Sushi strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The interior is tastefully designed, with subtle lighting that creates an intimate dining environment.
Coming to the rolls/food, we happened to order the following: The house salad along with miso soup followed by Orange Blossom, Sexy lady, Sexy Victoria, Johnny Roll and Bianca roll. It could have been that particular day but the Sushi rolls didn't taste authentic and looked to be overly filled/packed with thick rice. We took a bit to get through them though usually we are very quick in finishing these one after the other. Hopefully it was one off day and maybe it'd be a much better experience next time. That was just the food though.
The service was off the charts good. We asked for the popular ones, the spicy ones, crispy one's etc and were given appropriate responses to each of those in helping us decide in what we ended up ordering. Their warm and courteous demeanor makes you feel like a valued guest.
Hopefully next time!!!

Offering a wallet-friendly sushi experience that's sure to delight your taste buds without breaking the bank. While it may not boast the most mind-blowing sushi in town, it certainly delivers on taste and value.
The moment you step in, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff here is friendly, making you feel right at home. It's the perfect spot for a casual night out with friends or a quick sushi fix.
Now, let's talk about the main attraction – the sushi. While it may not win any awards for the most exquisite presentation, the freshness and flavors are on point. The selection is decent, with all the classics you'd expect from a sushi joint, from California rolls to spicy tuna.
What sets Akita Sushi apart is the affordability. You can enjoy a satisfying sushi meal without emptying your wallet. It's a great place for sushi newbies or those looking for a budget-friendly option.
One highlight is their daily specials. Be sure to ask about them because you might stumble upon a hidden gem not found on the regular menu. The dynamite roll special I had was a delightful surprise, bursting with flavor.
In summary, Akita Sushi is a fun spot for those seeking good sushi without the extravagant price tag. It may not be the pinnacle of sushi perfection, but it's a solid choice for a tasty, affordable meal. Give it a shot and let your taste buds be the judge! 🍣💰

Instagram led us to this sushi place in San Jose.
I immediately noticed that the restaurant was pretty empty, which surprised me because of their instagram following.
After being seated, we showed them the videos they posted on Instagram and specifically asked for those rolls.
My partner showed them a video as well and they said they didn't have that one either.
The server said those rolls aren't on the menu. I questioned why they're being posted if they're not available.
The server was kind of enough to go ask someone who would know if they were available.
The server came back to tell us that those are "special" rolls and are not available.
I told them that they should post the rolls that we can order on Instagram instead of posting rolls which are not available to order.
It's obviously not the server's fault. This is a suggestion for PR and their management team who is posting false advertisements.
After having no choice, I ended up ordering the crazy mango roll. He ordered the paradise roll.
Oddly enough, they brought out our rolls separately.
We tried several rolls, but the one that was delicious was the crazy mango roll! We ordered it twice because it had a wildly delicious flavor :)
I'd only recommend the crazy mango roll.
Overall, it's disappointing to drive to a restaurant to order what we had seen on Instagram to be told it's not available. Plus, the rolls were so tiny lol definitely smaller portions than other places.

Great local place to get sushi. They have some really unique flavors. Rolls were slightly small for us but overall I would go back.
We got the hamachi delight (I have never had a refreshing roll like this, highly recommend) , dragon roll and fantasy roll.
Really good service, has a cool atmosphere with a lot of parking and they have a lot of options to pick from. Priced fairly.

The server was so kind even if we came in a bit late. No sign of attitude at all. They’re located in an awkward area, so parking is a bit of a challenge which is easily covered by the parking lot over by McDonald’s. Hot tea was free! Miso soup is delish and BBQ mussels has a slightly different taste than what I usually get from other sushi places. My tempura shrimp and vegetables was perfectly crispy. Reached over to try a roll off of my son’s plate and it was fresh as it can be. I will order my go to saba dinner plate next time because yes, I’ll be coming back here whenever I crave a Japanese meal.

A fun favorite for sushi. My brother usually gets their katsudon - deep fried pork over rice with a soy sauce, mushroom and onion broth. This time we shared a few sushi rolls. Caterpillar, Philadelphia, Rainbow and Sashimi. Fresh and sublime. It was a good meal.

The food was wonderfully fresh, and large dishes. We had the classic poke bowl and we couldnt finish it. But the sashimi was large cubes and lots of crab salad. The salmon Kama was perfectly made. It wasnt dry. My kid also gave thumbs up for his chicken teriyaki benton box.

I went there to dine with my family because of high rating , however, customer Service was excellent, but they don’t know to to make real Japanese food. Too much rice in sushi rolls, there is no taste in food, feels like a soap. Food are fresh but they should upgrade the chief.
It was cold inside the restaurant.

I would say this is a solid sushi place but not our favorite.
Pros: Inside had a nice vibe and decor. Very creative rolls and big menu. Workers were nice, service was good, & fast food.
Cons: The rolls were huge (stuffed with fake crab) and the fish was thin. We got the flaming dragon, too big, drowning in so much sauce you really couldn't taste the fish. Outside is a bit sketchy and parking was difficult.

Mmm that’s tasty sushi here. And also we find options for a kid, and it appeared to be chicken which he liked. I myself must say that “Sexy Victoria” is one of the my favorite now.
Plus good service and nice atmosphere

The sushi was solid when you take into account it’s a little cheaper than other places. I ordered the rainbow roll and spicy (though not in this case) California roll. I would discourage ordering the chicken karaage, which was a bit dry.

Good value and also good if you like that “home cooking” style Japanese food.
Nov 26, 2022 update:
Been here many times for dinner but this was the first time for lunch. It’s pretty much the same menu but I think a bit cheaper.
Spicy chicken was good, especially with the rice. Miso soup good and I like the iceberg lettuce salad with the creamy dressing. All this for $13.
We also had the fried mackerel with steak combo. This was one of the specials on the white board menu in the back. I think it was $19.
Service always friendly and fast here.

They recently started a proper omakase counter service for $75 at the time of writing this review. Other places might offer moriawase disguised as omakase, but this is the true omakase experience. Chefs are super nice and accommodating. Their regular menu is also amazing but I wanted to highlight the omakase experience.

So, this place produces great quality food. The staff and service is great. The gals are attentive and friendly. The food is great. We tried the hamachi kama (tuna collars) the shoshito peppers and the chef’s special sashimi platter. Everything was amazing. This place is a must for those who like the traditional a little more than the mainstream sushi roll joints. Though they do have rolls and they did look good we didn’t indulge. Definitely check it out. It’s a winner.

This place just recently opened and it is a very nice looking place. Really liked the layout and wall art. Not sure if just came at a bad time or what happened but the sushi and sashimi didn’t seem fresh. The baked rolls were falling apart because of too much sushi and sashimi was not super freshly cut it seemed. Hope they can turn it around so the food trumps the styling of the restaurant.

Nothing exciting here, just your average neighborhood sushi spot.
Rolls were heavy with rice, lacking contrasting textures. Although the rice was sweet and sticky, too much of it overpowered the fresh cuts. Some rolls are better than the other, while the menu has limited choices compared to similar offerings. Deep fried rolls were soaked in grease, making them unpalatable. Although the fresh cuts were enjoyable.

***update: the place had been completely remodeled. Gone are the sushi boats, replaced with a conveyor system. Pretty fancy, especially after ordering a sushi dish and it's delivered to your table (if you're seated adjacent to the conveyor) by a robot. As with all the restaurants, prices are higher.***
**update: No sushi bar seating, only tables, due to social distancing rules**
Overall, it leans more toward 3.5 stars. In general, I like the food and is the first sushi "boat" style restaurant I patronized. I prefer sitting at the sushi bar and being able to choose from the selections floating by. Service is above par. The food is good (I always order the agadashi tofu), but my ding is on the freshness of the sushi....which is sometimes lacking. Hit or miss.
I've dined at this establishment for over 20 years and will continue to return. It's a nice neighborhood stop.
