I apply online for case manager and submitted my cv then they mail me the schedule for interview on April, 29 at 1.00 to 1.30 pm, I went there on time after 2 hours I reached the reception desk for registration, The receptionist check my ID and say you are all set through online, just waite we will call you, They ddnt call me after another one hour I contact with a Man who calling every candidate for Interview I ask him where is my name for interview? He replied there is no your name in page, I asked him waiting three hours for interview, reception said I am all set but why I am missing? He reply I don’t know, in that time reception close, Miss management for me, No time manners and discipline

Dont get fooled by the size of this place or the faces of some their employées ...
I'm using their services since 2018. This is the worst work force place by so far. I've been in Barlem , Brooklyn , Bronx. I have never been treated like that . Specially by the Hispanic lady at the entrance . A very disgusting , person and bossy, racist person. ..Nice with her people and very rude with me. Cause , I was black. I would say , she may be racially discriminating. You don't want to work , just quit ! I'm 40 years old ..

I attended her in 2004 got my ged within 3 months, but I'll never forget the therapist they had there, I forget his name but he was there in January 2004, he evaluated me before I was able to enter job corps he told me that I may have blackouts and hurt someone without knowing it that, there's a chance I cant attend job corps, I was shocked when he said it, then he said if I see him every week I'll be allowed to attend, but little did I know he would have sessions with me, ask me to turn Around in my uniform, comment on my body, try to give me his credit card to buy things, grouping me in sessions, and watching me from down the hallways ,he would follow me upstairs to the girls floor claiming to check on me, and because he was the therapist he was able to go anywhere in the building, I couldn't believe this was all happening, I even shared it with my boyfriend at the time, he was like that's not right, you need to report him, honestly I should've because how many other girls was he doing this too. I just felt so scared there and didn't want to be left alone with him, but I had to see him every week per job corps rules. I was about 21 around that time and to this day it still hunts me that he wanted sexual acts from me and touching me inappropriately , it feels good to get that off my chest I've been carrying that so long, I really hope he is not still employed there or hopefully he got exposed.

They help you to help yourself. Plenty of employment opportunities and training.

i went trying to fix my UE benefits and they pretended like they had nothing to do with that they couldent give me any information or anything i had to go to yonkers where they got a proffesional on the phone to help me after 6 weeks of no unemployment benefits they should shutdown this facility and put in new staff they have no respect here i called at least 4 times before showing up in person gor them to tell me sorry i cant help you

These people are incompetent of doing their jobs. They don’t direct you to right places and act as if they don’t get paid to do their jobs. You waste your whole day there trying to atleast get somewhere. Useless and very arrogant lousy and rude people

I don't know who answered the phone but the dude wasn't pleasant to speak with and he just sounded like he was too lazy to even do his job. I spoke with other people over the phone at other locations. Those people was no where as difficult as this guy at the hunts point location that don't want to do their jobs.

I went in looking for a job and got no help. I left all my information there for basically no reason no call or email back. I called them to be told they would be emailing job opportunities and haven't gotten anything since. It's been a month since I first went in and have made 0 progress with them to find a job. They haven't made a single suggestion or any effort. But they still getting paid for their jobs though so it's okay right ?

Unprofessional af I was in the middle of a process with them & now they been closed for a month , do not pick up calls , I went personally they were closed & dont even tell their customers in advance or the reason why. A waste of time , I really didn’t want to believe the reviews at first .

I approached them for help in finding a job. They didn't help me at all, they scheduled me to go to their offices but since I only spoke Spanish, they answered me for 5 minutes and I was already outside, they never called me again.

This particular workforce1 location is absolute TRASH. If you are serious about looking for a job, do yourself a favor and DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!

I just don’t understand how people could be so evil. Like just do your job and go home. They are incredibly evil and corrupt. They deliberately block out phone calls. My case has been sitting there for months and I’ve never dealt with anything like this until they switched my location from hunts point to these clowns. They almost make you wanna go in there and clear the scene because it is insanely frustrating how evil they are.

The Facilities were well-equipped and clean enough. The assistance was limited from personnel, not sure it its lack of knowledge, willingness or access. If I were to speak on anything else I would be fibbing or possibly unpleasant.

If I don’t care about your problems was a person then you found the right place. I don’t know how these workers are lazy with their jobs? All you do is sit in front of a computer and call out a number.

Went into the office two times this week and two times last week to tell them the same thing over and over again and I still don't see my benefits and they still keep lying to my face while my family is home starving these people are terrible I don't know what's going on in this office. It should be further investigated!!

When I first arrived to the window the lady was slightly rude to me telling me my “name can’t be my name “…?! After a back and forth exchange for about a minute she finally asked me for my ID and seen my name was my name ( I have a unisex name ) and then she apologized but at that point I was already slightly upset . I was sent upstairs

I love Workforce 1 development center cause they really help you get a job, and help you turn your life around I always coming to Workforce 1 development center whenever I need anything or looking for a job. I'll be there on the 5th I'm looking for my 2nd job now

I applied back in June 28th because I had lost my job. I handed in all the needed documents and they sent me documents stating that I will be receiving benefits on certain dates. 3 months has passed and I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANYTHING AT ALL. I've been calling them, I went over there twice and all they keep telling me is to wait. I've waited long enough. What am I waiting for? It's been over 90 days now. Mind you it was their mistake. Not mine. This is my worst experience with HRA ever. Brooklyn never did me dirty like this. I will never, ever do HRA in the Bronx EVER AGAIN.

Phone number on Google is WRONG . On another page (Bronx Job Center #38, the number given is different. There is no attendant. You can leave a message but mailbox is full.

Only way to get a message to them is to go there in person.

I suggest going in on a Friday or the 1st or 15th of the month, cuz that's when it's less crowded. No one wants to be there in a Friday and they are kind of fast that day cuz the workers want to go home and enjoy their weekend. As long as you come with a positive attitude and knowing you may be there all day, u will be fine. Most of the workers are very nice and reasonable as long as you don't come in there like they personally owe you something, when they are just doing their jobs. So going in there yelling is not going to get you seen any faster then the next. N for all u grown man that go in there creating drama every time I'm there, get a job! Remember ppl this is supposed to be temporary help! Not permanent! Thanks to the workers that really help!

Sebastian at the front desk is very polite and informative. Had a pretty good first experience at this workforce one location, thanks to him for going above and beyond.

can’t reach anybody. unprofessional and disrespectful staff that strip low income tax payers off their benefits with no explanation or false reasoning with no proof.

The workers are so racist when it comes to Hispanic I helped a black lady with her papers she got all her stuff done I did the same thing when it was my turn they just wanted me off to the next ticket I don’t kno what garbage you guys looked into to find these people to work at this place but no one cares nothing is done no matter how much we speak out every one hidden the supervisor only cares about the tickets being done people arguing fighting with them they are over booked over looked the cases they mess up is just swept under the rug who is going to help us why don’t they get representatives to take complaints why do they still have a job with old raggedy weaves fat nasty looking like life is not good at our end get them out

They call you from private numbers, leave a message with no callback # while threatening to close my case due to two unsuccessful call attempts as if I'm waiting near my 📱 for them everyday not to mention when you call for an interview..you are waiting over 45 minutes and not a single soul comes on the phone...so unprofessional and frustrating. I'm a true professional so I know what to expect, this place is🤦🏿‍♂️

Don’t bother coming here if you’re a person with disabilities. I came in early in the morning on 08/04/2023 to speak with a case worker regarding my case and I needed an advocate for someone with disabilities. I was given the run around from the ground level to customer service and still didn’t get assistance with what initially visited them for. I’m aware of the access HRA App and how to use it, I spoke with many people on the phone regarding my case and STILL NO HELP! I will be forwarding a complaint with the office of justice center and I will get help legally as well for not being accommodated as a person with a disability.

I came here but security guard insisted I go all the way to their Brooklyn office even though I live in the Bronx blocks away from this location. This place should be shut down!

So... It's a long wait similar to the DMV on those people will be pressed for patients. Hi, personally. Don't have any complaints against them. I just wish they updated the number/ticket system.

If i could rate this place a 0 i would , i was there for 5 hours for me to still to go home with no benefits or answers , i can’t feed my family cause these people aren’t doing their job right .. i spent 2 hours upstairs waiting for the supervisor just her to be just as nasty as all the workers( her last name starts like an l ) .. im soo sick of this new York needs to do better .. the workers don’t care bout their clients .. people’s kids are starving nd all they can do is tell me to wait It’s been almost 2months .. not to mention i got sent there to get a temporary card with no benefits on it like what

I have been here once so far and in all honesty it’s what you make it. I have to go back tomorrow and hopefully get my benefits in from April and May. However the people in need are very unreasonable and I dare say childish. Not all however, all of us who are going there are in need and there is but so many people working to help thousands if not more. We as the ones in need have the audacity to need help and be impatient and then treat the workers with an attitude and act surprised when their days are messed up and they start treating everyone else poorly. I’ve seen people threaten to smack the workers because they are frustrated or cursing them out etc. Obviously they will not want to help you to the best of their ability nor care to because you’re treating them poorly and now it’s a cycle of just disrespect and not caring. Simply because people don’t have patience and feel like they deserve to be helped first if you got a number you will be helped but what you put out is what you’re going to receive. It’s crazy how a simple smile changed the workers attitude and heart. All I did was smile and show joy genuinely and it reciprocated back. The people working here deal with a lot as well we are all people they’re not mindless machines to serve our needs. I understand some being frustrated, but it’s the same as not taking your issues to work don’t attack the hand that can rectify your situation. Kindness and honest genuine joy goes a long way.

Job corp for young adults. That is what is for. The staff are very interesting. Not a good place for young adults that are trying to change or make a difference. Adults have issues. Go somewhere else this facility's is not good. If you want to get an education.

All of the workforce1 in general are the worst they need to shut down the services they never pick up the phones they waste your time. They don’t help on getting people jobs all they refer you to minimum wage jobs and 16 dollars a hour knowing you have the skills and experience and even if you have a college degrees. Senior Account Manager she never picks up the phone at all. Don’t waste your time everyone you better off finding jobs yourself. I already reported it to 311 about this problem

It’s like high school here so everyone is in your business .. . You do make friends hear , counselor don’t help you as much , the food is terrible and nasty 🤢, if hurt your leg you walk up the stairs elevators is broken , Some RA will help you some of them wouldn’t , have to open mail in front the expect you not to get in relationship with a student you met there .

Unbelievable!! Why do they have phone numbers? …like the Infoline and Job Center that they don’t answer. Need better management to serve clients in a better and positive ways. Also every year for my recertification ended up in a messy way and always have problems with NYC HRA, is not the best. And, You scan your own docs making their job easier. Badest service in USA.

BEWARE: If you receive R.Walker as your case manager. Very unprofessional. Wont allow you to ask questions. She will hang up on you and falsify documents so you wont receive emergency funds. Please record your interactions. Very vindictive person. Screenshot your call record when speaking with her.

Come here if you want free meals, a place to live for awhile, interview clothing and certifications, but BEWARE most staff you deal with (not all) will not want to do their job. You are basically on your own. They just want you to do what you have to do and get out of their hair. If you are lucky, you'll maybe meet one or two staff that actually cares and work with you on where you want to be, but for the most part you can tell some staff are there just for the paycheck. They do the bare minimum, and that's it. As long as they did their small part, they are done for the day. Employment is not guaranteed after Job Corps when you do everything that you have to do!!!! Also, they are quick to ask for your paystub after you finish so that they can completely cut ties with you. If your goal to come here is to leave the program with a full-time position, don't get your hopes up.

Zero out of 10 wouldn’t recommend. Staffing is rude , steal and will set off your triggers intentionally. Definitely give broken promises and don’t really seems to have your best interest. Definitely should be investigated by the state or something. :/ staffing also steals from your personal belongings.

I was there dorm and classroom is easy they provide alot of help but they have strict rules and management lucky if you complete the programs anyway...

I attended back in 89 when they had a plumbing course. I use to go awol at night and make runs to the store for tips. I was good at sneaking pass the cameras and security. They gave us a weekly allowance and Some People would get drugs with the money, the program was a joke to some. Many were homeless, troubled and dealing with issues that required professional help. It was hard to stay focused for myself and others. I realize now that if you do not get to the root of a persons problem you could not be successful at anything. Counseling would be a good thing to have there along with focus on mental health. You need some skill to support yourself so don’t cheat yourselves out of a possible good life, take advantage of this blessing and stay away from those that are lost and focused on the wrong things. Drugs and gangsters is played out. Let’s elevate. Best wishes to all who take advantage of this opportunity.
