I recently purchased a new road bicycle, and had a terrific experience at Trek Fairfax. Tyler answered questions about my purchase, helped meet my accessory needs, and the shop offered competitive pricing. I have purchased two bikes from this location, and I’d certainly recommend it to anyone else.

We have a great experience every time we go here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Today was another wonderful experience and we were assisted by Dominic. He was super friendly and went out of his way to help us and explain REI’s discount policy when we didn’t even ask about it. He helped us save a decent amount of money.

Worst customer service experience from an REI ever. Tried to return a pair of pants (REI brand no less) that they claimed were purchased a year and ten days ago. There were multiple orders with the same pants as I had ordered many pairs. The incompetent associate kept me there for fifteen minutes because she couldn’t find them. When she finally asked for help, the other associate supposedly found them with no issue. Shared my concern with the manager on the way out who seemed to care even less than the first two people to “help” me. Radically different than any other REIs I have frequented.
Quick call to customer service and they were able to help me out right away. Stay away from the Fairfax location unless you want to add to your stress.

I suggest you bring a large clear leaf bag with you for your purchases. We enjoyed our experience until we checked out out. Their “no bag policy” is ridiculous. They had small totes unsuitable for larger bulkier items typical of winter the apparel for sale. Customers and members are left to carry a large number of purchases loosely gathered up in their arms to their car.This is a recipe for being a crime victim or losing expensive purchases. Not good.

Fantastic store for all your bike needs. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I need to give a shout out specifically to John for helping me pick out the perfect bike. I told him exactly what I was looking for, he patiently listened, and made sure I was 100% satisfied with my purchase.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, professional, and eager to help! I did not have a super lucrative or high-end request, but they treated me like a priority, and made sure to take care of my needs quickly, and with the highest quality! Thanks for making my kids jogging stroller right and keeping us on track to enjoy our trip!

Their primary items are clothes and outdoor equipments such as bike, shoes, tents. They don't have sports equipments likes bow, hunting gears.

Trek Fairfax is awesome. John and team are very knowledgeable and know how to take next steps efficiently. Came in for dual sport2 . Rode one . Ordered green since not in stock. Had not ridden in 11 years. John explained bike controls and spin around parking. Bought and took on OD . For extended ride. While nice bike was not the performance I wanted. Over phone ordered fx2. That arrived there was price difference less. They refunded. In the meantime I decided I wanted a domane al2 disc. Based on reviews and specs and requirements. Well I came to store with a pant belt and sandals. Rode the domane. Did not feel right. Bought the fx2, Rode on OD trail while better did not feel right 😀. I came back next day and paid $300 more and took the Domane AL2. This time I wore riding shoes and my fall sweats. It felt fine. They adjusted the bike. Thus 3 bikes. 3 orders and they were very pleasant and patient. It’s on the garage hook. Ready for OD soon! Thanks Trek Fairfax.

Visited after checking online and here, on 9/3/23 @ 1pm, and the store was closed with no warning and without specific cause. Extremely disheartening when traveling to a decent hike and counting on REI for gear to accomplish said hike.
Now, let’s hope the Tyson’s location is open.
Holiday weekend with a store closed in these times is tough to accept.

Disappointed in staff and management behavior. While shopping a couple days ago the staff accidentally overfilled a tire causing a very loud explosion. Several people screamed and others went into duck-and-cover. It would have been simple to just call out and let patrons know what occurred. In this day and age and with a large veteran population in the area, that would have been common courtesy. My sister and I were near a lady who was visibly upset and frightened. My sister asked an associate if they could let people know what happened in an announcement and she looked at my sister like she was insane, very rudely said no, and walked off. On our way out my sister saw the manager and relayed calmly and quietly that she was disappointed in how things were handled and how she was treated. The manager barely acknowledged her and said, ‘Sorry you feel that way’ and turned away.
My sister is a world traveler and wilderness hiker. To say she has spent tens of thousands of dollars at that REI is no exaggeration. They will not be seeing another dime from her, there are plenty of other resources for her equipment and they lost our loyalty.

Beware this store practices racial profiling! After being a member for years, I’ve always enjoyed the excellent customer service that REI provided in the past. However, I’ve had the most awful and embarrassing experience imaginable. I picked out some clothes to try on, but decided to put it aside to use the restroom. At which point, and associate ran to me and asked if he can help in sarcastic and rude manner. I explained my reason, and asked to leave the clothes aside so I wouldn’t have to research for the items. He took my items and said they must be placed with the cashier and I can collect when I’m ready for the fitting room. There were no other customers harassed and asked to do the same. Thereafter, I approached the cashier and somehow knew I was the only customer with clothes in the back since no one asked my name or what items I had. She rudely told me that their “policy” is that i can only take 5 items to the dressing room, and she would hold all the items until I’m ready to exchange them. I felt embarrassed and ashamed at manner in which I was treated. This has never occurred to me before and I have never heard of such a policy. I will never visit this store again and ensure to warn others the same.

Yesterday was our first time at this location and it was great! Very clean and organized. The staff was very helpful especially Jacob who assisted us in the bike section and was super knowledgeable. We found some great clearance finds and will be back to find a suitable bike for me with Jacob’s help.

I visited the store to repair a slow leak. The technician was courteous and helped right away. The price was reasonable.
I went back next day with my spare bike. The technician (different person) was equally courteous and fixed the gear problem right away. Didn't even charge anything.
Every person I dealt with at the store was courteous and eager to help. Great store and great folks.

I came into Trek Bicycle Fairfax while visiting a friend in Virginia. I was greeted by Alec who made me feel right at home. I shared with him my goal of riding 20 miles in every state by the time I turn 70 (just 6 more years). Alec was genuinely interested in helping me with great advice on routes and trails. He provided me with a trail map of Virginia which was instrumental in helping me select the right trail for my Virginia ride. Since I was borrowing a bike from a friend, I needed a helmet and Alec helped me pick out the perfect one in my favorite color ... Red! He also was very patient in showing me how to adjust it properly. I completed my 20 miles on the Washington Old Dominion trail and will always remember the great service and genuine hospitality that I received at Trek Bicycle Fairfax. Thanks Alec!

My visit to the Fairfax trek was one of the best experiences I have had in a bike store. The sales and the service department took great care of me. They got me on a great bike for a great price and ensured I was good to go. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.
