One of the best restaurants looking directly on this wonderful square. Food is average beer is good, prices are high. Recommended for a stop. Ask a table close to the window.
The best farewell in Brussels at the best spot in "Le Grand Place", the atmosphere is perfect, and the service is unmatched. Ask for Jeremy and you'll feel like royalty. Thank you, Jeremy!
I was on a short, solo trip to Belgium, and I was staying in Brussels and exploring a different city each day. This day, I decided to check out the main plaza and try a new restaurant I was wanting to eat traditional flemmish food, and for whatever reason, this place seemed like a good bet. It was very crowded in the summer, so I had to choose based on what was available, no wait, and what "looked good". After an hour's walk, and checking countless menus, I ended up here, and with no regrets! I ate outside to enjoy the sunlight and upcoming sunset. I didn't feel odd to be alone, and I was not treated worse for being a solo traveler. I was given a nice corner table on the patio, an had a fantastic view of the square, and got to people watch my whole meal!

The food was delicious, and it was not an overly large portion. It as enough to stuff me but let me walk comfortably back to my hotel! I got a Flemish chicken stew, in a white creamy sauce, and it was divine. I couldn't tell you what was in it- just meat, potatoes, and this amazing sauce. I ate everything! The price was reasonable, especially for a busy city center at the height of summer on a weekend. It was one of my favorite meals in this country- although, I have to admit, every meal was "my favorite".

Since it is so centrally located, I had a very short walk to see some famous sculptures, murals, and just explore!

We stopped in for a beer before heading back to the hotel. We didn’t expect much since this is in the heart of a tourist area. The beers were great but the employees were even better. We had a great conversation with Alexi the bartender and by the time that we were finished, we had already decided to return the next day for dinner. Dinner was good and the service excellent. The atmosphere is incredible, even on a crowed day. They had the fireplace going and the ambiance is that of an old cottage in the winter. Absolutely fantastic.

The food is ok but the selection is immense. I wasn’t a fan of the mussels broth or the frites. I love the concept of the restaurant and the interior is so inviting.
The most delicious bread however!!

I wish I took the time read reviews before I walked in here.
As many others have said, food is bland and simple. Had 2 glasses of wine, the first tastes like it had been sitting in the back cupboard for 2 months and was full of sediment.

Beautiful location - disappointing experience.

IT'S A TRAP. DON'T GO.
The food was stinky and smelled REALLY BAD.
I feel sad for the fish that was not cooked properly. It cost 89 Euro for mixed seafood which smelled really really bad.
There was no one else except us.

The prices are expensive and the food quality is terrible. The workers spend more time outside smoking than inside; it creates a bad atmosphere. My plate was very bad, I chose a beef and it was awful, the texture, the flavour etc. I don't recommend it, it's a tourist trap.

The steaks weren't seasoned ( no salt or pepper). The pepper and mushroom sauces that came with the steaks were watery and had absolutely no taste. I found out later that they charge 2 euros per sauce. The 18 euros chef's salad was mostly iceberg salad and heated up frozen seafood drowned in some salad sauce. Service was slow and chaotic but friendly. Too bad..

We just arrived in Bruxelles and started our walk around town searching for a taste of Belgium and found Chez Remy, and what a find.

Down the first street (rue) dividing the St Hubert - Grand Place gallery you’ll find this easily.

We were greeted into this French/Belgian style restaurant over two or three floors with restaurants on either side of the rue. The waitress serving us was very pleasant and friendly, putting up with my horrible attempts and French.

The menu is extensive with many options in Belgian traditional, French and others. We ordered the garlic and white wine mussels, the crème with white wine, the rabbit in bier jus and the vol au vent.

For our first meal in Bruxelles this set the scene of expectation for things to come, with delicious flavours, seasoning, size and freshness. Out doing my expectations of Belgian cuisine I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed.

Bring extremely close to the action of pretty much everything make sure you get to here to truly enjoy Belgian cuisine at its finest (cafe style), to perfection
We took marinated mussels, some Belgian sausage and a tasting of 5 different beers; It was Christmas season so the place was decorated accordingly, pretty nice atmosphere.

The marinated mussels were not bad neither excellent, good tasting;

The sausage? I found them extraordinary and very exquisites. They came accompanied with veggies with sauce and fruit jam to be ate with the sausage;

The beer were amazing too, had a good tasting of local beer

Bad thing where the price and the portions, but i kinda expected that due to the fact that the restaurant is located in the Grand-Place

Would recommend it for beer and sausage tasting

DO NOT GO HERE!!!
LIARS!!! BIG RIP OFF!!!!
They have a guy out in the street trying hustle customers in. (That should have been my 1st clue) He told they had a special. $15 € He had a sheet with pictures. We pointed at the pic, again he said 15€. So we go inside show the waiter the pic and tell him we were told 15€. He says ok. Comes back with our food. We get bill..... they charged us 25€ !!!!!
They are liars, they hustle you off the street with lies, then rip you off. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Food is bad. We were with a group and everyone with the pasta got sick. The photo’s have been take after the meal. As you can see, no one with the pasta finished their meal. When we told the staff, they got really defensive about it and would not even attempt to come to an agreement with us. We wanted to discuss the price as we did not want any dessert, because we had lost faith in the quality of the food and the food that was served did not meet reasonable expectations (as people got sick). Then they held us against our will. They were hostile. They yelled. Whomever reads this, please do not visit this place. I would not recommend.

Reaction on the comment below: Three things:

First of all, we arrived with a smaller group and told staff beforehand. When we arrived, we did not ask for a discount, but we asked to pay only for the food that we got served for the smaller group of people. We did so in a polite manner.

Second of all, your reaction seems to disregard the fact that all the people that got the same dish got sick. Later on the evening some of us threw up. It is not normal to get sick from food that you are being served. Because the food dit not meet reasonable expectations, we asked for a discount. We never intended to pay nothing at all.

Third of all, the way the staff handled the situation was hostile to say the least. At one point staff just took one person apart and started yelling at her, when she simply wanted to resolve the problem. At another point someone was forcefully taken by the arm. In conclusion: To say that your service is good would be a lie.

I still have hope that we can resolve this issue. Please contact us if you are willing to resolve this matter as well. Thank you in advance.

The service was incredibly fast. The Atmosphere and location were both amazing. The Flemish beef stew was disappointing. The sauce was bland, just large beef chunks with sauce and no vegetables ( no carrots, no potatoes and no onions ). And the beef cubes were kinda of cold. I loved everything else about the restaurant. The beer wasn’t over priced either.

The sample beer was great and brought to my very quickly.
Food was okay, atmosphere and staff are great though :)
trying to understand why the big hype for this place. you clearly need a reservation to get in most night, unless you come at the right time between 8:30 and the kitchen closing time around 9:15 and they want to accomodate you.
food was okay, including lobster.
foie gras seemed to be just dumped on the plate with 2 pieces of toast bread, without much flavor.
even the service was not that great with a request to add the salad in between courses which did not happen nor explained that they don't do that. I see no reasons to come here again.

We had a lovely meal for our one night stay in Brussels, the Dover sole was incredible with the butter sauce and my wife enjoyed her fruits de mer. The only thing was that we went with our 4 yr old and it felt like we were made to feel unwanted because of him. The service wasn't awful but it was far from friendly. We would go back because the food was so good but our son was very well behaved and I don't see why this should make a difference.

We are two, we wanted to order a plate with sea food assortment, that costs 40 euro, but they refused us. Explained that we should obligatory take 2 plates minum.
You understand how much it will be for 40 euro about 1 kg , so it is impossible to eat for us too much.
I do not recommend this service to anyone.
Mauve only for big company/family.

The manager/owner is very friendly. He accommodated my wish to surprise my wife on her birthday. Our food is EXCELLENT! The mussels and sauce are delicious and well cooked. 1/2 Lobster dish is GREAT. It is very tasty on grilled lobster. The birthday dessert is very good as well. Nothing to complain, only happiness when we walked out. Will definitely visit this restaurant again…. Please make sure you make a reservation since it has limited seating.

Food was well cooked, portions was big. The seasoning could have been a little stronger but overall food was good. Service seems on the less attentive side but is available at request. The atmosphere is a little dated but it fits in with the area.

We had 2 mussels with the house sauce and it was delicious! The mussels were creamy and had the perfect texture. One pot was very big and comes with fries. We also had the lobster soup and shrimp croquettes. Everything was perfect and the service is very attentive and nice. Would definitely come back for their seafood 🦞 thank you for the great lunch 😊

Very nice and fancy fish restaurant in the centre of Brussels, well known by locals (as me). Super fresh food, well cooked, very large portions at moderate prices . And a very good wine list as well.
Unfortunately this time the service was below expectations as the waitress served half of my glass wine beside thr glass... and even didn't see it! Later she brought us an additional soft there were asked for sprinkling water! Good that the chief waiter is still at the top.
The food here meet the standard. The portion is perfect, generous. Recommend. If you want to have Saturday dinner, you should do some reservation or else they are full😅
Staff were the best. Entertaining and friendly ❤️

This place is in the center of the old city with small narrow streets and mussle food restaurant. We sat outside and the vibe was fantastic. Food is very good. We enjoyed being here. The welcome host was very friendly and lovable. 5 stars for him. 4 stars for service only because the other service people were a little distant, not smiling and seemed to be not happy with working here.

I thought it'd be expensive but turned out really worthy of its price!! The paella was amazing. We ordered mussels in white wine and mussels with garlic and cream and these were very delicious and fresh too. Definitely worth its price (99€).

Very busy and very warm (the weather). However, the staff were friendly and helpful. The prices are on par with other restaurants near the Grand Palace.

The food tasted fresh (Mussels and oysters). The non-fish meal (beef) tasted great.

It's a little expensive but it's near the Grand Palace.

If you love fish you will like this place.

Cuisine was topnotch. The atmosphere inside of the restaurant was quaint and fancy. Staff is friendly and cozy. I strongly recommend you go to the restaurant if you want to eat fish cuisine.
Delicious Seafood and Good Service!

We decided to try out the lobster spaghetti (Lobster Royal), mussels with white wine, and grey shrimp croquettes, pairing them with a glass of white wine and local beers.

The ingredients were fresh. Our food arrived promptly, and the staff was friendly.

At €118, it was worth every penny. I recommend paying a visit, especially if you're a seafood enthusiast!

Lobster soup (€16) was extremely diluted and had no meat. Food was served warm. Beef stew looked unappetizing but tasted pretty good! Service was fine for me, but I noted an unpleasant exchange towards another customer. Receipt was also not provided either, just a handwritten note stating our order items and amount to pay. No tips requested. Overall a decent but touristy experience - 2.5stars.

It’s a very average place. After long waiting time, we’ve received our dishes that were very mediocre. I don’t recommend taking pasta there as there was not much taste to it. Similar to paella with overboiled tasteless rice. The dish was decent however. Good location but there are better places on the food map of Brussels centre

Our travel guide recommended coming here for dinner our first night.

The staff was really great and the location was perfect!

The food overall was good. Depending on who you ask.

None of us were crazy about the cheese and shrimp croquettes. I’m not a huge fan of cheese to begin with so they were a bit strong for me.

Next we had the salmon, mussels, and pasta.

I had the mussels and they were crazy good!!! My wife and daughter had the salmon and they said it was a bit fishy. Although that could be how they do things around here. My son had the pasta which seemed fine.

We all had the chocolate mousse and it was outrageous!!!!

I also tried the beer flights and they were really good although I wasn’t crazy about the cherry one. Too sweet for me.

TOURIST TRAP! We walked by here after another restaurant was full and really regretted it. The food was overpriced and bland, the waiter took forever, and at the end, he would not give me my credit card back until I tipped him €10. Awful, awful awful. Just see the other reviews that are also bad.

Fresh and best ingredients.
Lovely service.
Portions are very generous so better be hungry or share would be my tip.
Went in mid-afternoon, during our visit of Grand Place. Conveniently located next to major attractions, it was a great find.

Food was great and was not as expensive as I thought it would be for such a highly touristic area. They also have a good selection of beer. The waiters were friendly and even though they were slammed with orders, we didn’t wait to long to get our food.

Overall, definitely suggest if you are looking for a place to eat next to Grand Place.

Popped in for a simple dinner of mussels and fries. They had a promotion for the basic version which I ordered. It was a fairly quick service as there were maybe only 3 other tables eating at the time.

The food was tasty, and priced comparatively for what I got. Plenty of mussels. The table next to me had ordered a different one from the promotion but was under the impression that they would be covered for this also, which caused confusion.

I was happy enough with my meal, and the service was standard. Would not be against going back, but there was nothing special to draw me back.
We recently dined at Brasserie de la Reine in Brussels, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. This charming establishment exudes a warm, welcoming atmosphere that sets the stage for an outstanding culinary journey.

Both the Pasta Bolognese and Pasta Carbonara were exquisite. Each dish, thoughtfully prepared, brimmed with robust, authentic Italian flavors. The Bolognese sauce was a savory symphony of meat and herbs, while the Carbonara offered a wonderfully creamy concoction, studded with crispy pancetta.

The Battin Fruitée beer was another high note of the meal. This fruity brew, with its refreshing tang, provided a perfectly balanced accompaniment to the hearty pastas.

One aspect to note, however, is that Brasserie de la Reine accepts only cash payments. They do not take credit cards, so ensure to have cash handy to avoid any inconvenience.

Nonetheless, I recommend Brasserie de la Reine wholeheartedly to anyone craving a fantastic meal in Brussels.

This wonderful restaurant stole my heart from the very first visit. Firstly, they offer champagne by the glass, which is not something you will find everywhere, even in Brussels. The food is delicious, with options like croquettes, Dover sole, and oysters. The selection of fish dishes is really good, and the restaurant has daily recommendations. The terrace is a nice feature, especially during the summer. The waiters are friendly and attentive, and the service is quick. A glass of champagne was brought to me within a couple of minutes, which was impressive. I highly recommend Le Vismet for all fish and Champaign lovers.

It’s interesting that I found all clients are from Asia when I walked in. I think they all checked Google reviews and picked it? The lobster spaghetti is awesome. The mussels and beers are good. The starter and dessert are ok. The service is excellent! Highly recommend it when you visit Brussels.
Beautiful restaurant, great service, delicious food, reasonably priced meals. It honestly deserved more customers. I didn’t look it up online so I wasn’t put off with what seems like a low rating, I was gonna go next door but it was expensive and this had gorgeous ambiance, reasonably priced, and quieter. I took a chance and it paid off but it was kind of sad how empty it was, the chef was just looking out the window and was so happy when a family decide to come in.

The scampi was delicious and they were very generous with the shrimp. Great beer selection as well and I would’ve stayed for desert if I wasn’t so full. I do recommend this place, give it a shot.

Been wanting to try out this restaurant for some time. Finally had the opportunity to do so with some friends. First impressions is that it’s a high end restaurant. When entering the establishment, we saw mostly older people (50+) but as the evening carried on, there started to be a mix of “younger” diners. The restaurant is nicely decorated, nothing too chi-chi or ostentatious. The restaurant seems to be a busy place. It was a Friday evening, there was a large table of diners celebrating a birthday, and the rest of the tables were booked up. It was pretty busy.
Services was ok, they were running around a lot. The way they served the sides to our table was a bit messed up. Someone got someone else’s side dish and vice versa. Apart from that, the food was very good. Our table was pretty happy with what was ordered.
Poached cod, mousseline sauce, with season veg.
Tuna tartare with fries.
Pollack a l’Ostendaise (with small shrimps and moussels), with mousseline sauce and potatoes.
3 grilled solettes with tartar sauce, matchstick fries, with salad and endives.
Last but not least, the dessert we all took was chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Overall, it was a nice experience and would recommend it to friends to try it out.

Fuyez !!!!

Happy to find a little piece of Spain in the heart of Brussels. All dishes we ordered (fish all of them) were amazing. Prices very reasonable as well. Highly recommended.

I randomly pick this location when I was hungry, first I got confused about where was the door since I thought it was just part of the window where the door is located. It was not so busy at the time so I was seated right away.

I could not determine what to eat but then I saw escargot and mussels, they became lunch for the day.

The taste of the escargot was really good; however, it was a bit strong so I would recommend eating it with bread. The mussels were a very large pot halfway through I was getting full already. I love the flavor of the mussels it was very fresh and tasty completely out of my expectation from a randomly picked restaurant.

However, it took a while for me to get my check I asked one of the wait staff to get my check. it was forgotten for quite a while until I ask for a second time. The door has some issue and it would not stay closed. under cold weather, it impacted several clients feeling the cold breeze and got up to close the door themselves.
Superb food and service 👌

Came for dinner reservations, but was not necessary. It was not overly busy and could have been seated right away without a reservation. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, but sat inside with the cold weather. Service was friendly, welcoming, and quick. Ordered Battin Extra and Battin Triple to drink, which were both great. Ordered fried calamari for a hot appetizers, which were cooked great and not overdone. Then ordered the vol-au-vent that had a great sauce and moist chicken, not overlooking it. Also had the grilled salmon, which was cook well, although it did not have the skin for a crisp texture. Lastly had the Bailey' coffee, which was a really great way to finish dinner. I did want to order the mussels, however they were sold out by the time I came to the decision to get orders. I would recommend coming earlier if you I want to order mussels. I YOHefinitely come back for another meal.

I highly suggest this restaurant. I went twice I both times I enjoyed the food and beers. I tried first the mussels with fries which was tasting fresh that was very good. Then I tried the paella that was soooo good it was the portion was generous. The service was good too. Well done La Terrasse team 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍻🍻🍻
This restaurant is situated in the heart of Brussels on the first floor of Casino Viage.
The decor is a stunning mix of modernity. Diners without reservation are invited to wait in a beautifully decorated lounge with a large selection of drinks.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses, worth mentioning the grilled octopus and the T-Bone Holstein.
Everything we ate was fresh and delicious and really well matched with a drink menu.
Our special mention go to the staff, well trained and qualified. Helpful, smiling and friendly at all times. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. We'll back soon 🙂

Great place for having a Spanish wine, cava or beer, along very good tapas. The sardines are really good, but in general, everything is well cooked.
You can also buy fresh fish & seafood.
