I love my apartment every thing about the building is great

The timing for maintnance is terrible. And the maintnance itself has went down in the past 15 years. The elevators used to be on point, now they break down more often, the sealings collapsed twice, and the sink keeps flooding. Not its in the hallway.

I am giving four stars and it's all because of that young man that sits at the front desk with the tattoos. He is so polite and calm and patient and extremely helpful. Always nice on the phone and in person! Big improvement from the female that used to sit there. So glad he is there now!

The lady who answers the phone is very rude , management has not fixed the elevator in 3 months I am pregnant living on the fifth floor also have no stove or fridge in my apartment it does not work.

I love it here. It's a pretty new building, so everything is new. Everyone who works in the building are all very friendly and helpful. If anything breaks, doesn't work or you have some kind of problem with something in your apartment they come as soon as possible and take care of it. The building is also very safe.

The Beach is a good spot, wide, long, so you can always find a place away from annoying people with loud music (I thought there was a law about it) and of of course that other annoying people that doesn't care doing soccer, football, volleyball, or any activity that involves spread sand all-over your neighbors ( it si not those guards in motorcycle should check that?) Anyway.

Employees are helpless clearly they hate their job and they take it upon tenants. I always try to avoid the office

They take forever to respond to bathroom leaks that are dangerously close to power outlets, which is a serious fire safety hazard. There has been an on and off leak in my bathroom ceiling that occurs once/twice a year like clockwork due to the toilet in the upstairs unit that overflows that can easily be fixed but no, I guess they don't want me paying my rent, I will be putting said money into an escrow account until they finally fix it. I also have water damage on my bathroom walls that is causing bubbling in the walls over in the next room due to the bath tub/shower lining coming apart that they refused to repair as well, the water damage is also dangerously close to another power outlet, which is another fire hazard to worry about. I have a lawyer on standby that will love to take this case that I plan on contacting soon if these issues aren't addressed. I do not recommend living here.

I love Going to Coney Island

NYC beaches aren't paradise but Coney Island looked decent and serves its purpose of entertaining and offering a convenient cool down

I’ve only lived in a building managed by Fieldbridge for a year, but the management has been excellent during my time. Responses to questions and concerns are prompt and fair. Maintenance is quick to address issues in the apartment. While the building I lived in may have had some issues, the management was not one of them.

Whitman housing has the worst ppl working there.Why when you call about an unfinished job.They give you the run arounds.The housing assistants that they have are the worst and the receptionist is too ghetto and feels like she runs the show. I try to keep my composure because I know I can really give a person a piece of my mind.I hate when they feel they can speak to ppl unprofessional but want you to give them respect.Just do your job.thats what you get paid fir.if you don't like dealing with ppl then this job isn't for you.

I am new to the building and I've had good interactions with the staff thus far. The tenants in the building are something to be desired. They have stolen my packages and they don't dispose of their garbage properly.

They asked me several questions like I was boarding a flight and then some gruff guy mumbled some information. Nice. I walked away with nothing.

Don’t do it

With as all the construction not just this site but all the NYCHA buildings in the area need to check the air quality and it's also affecting our quality of life

As a N.Y. Broker they destroyed my reputation and prolonged displacement to vulnerable needy tenants. They are the cause of minorities being discriminated against.
They are always disreputable and disrespectful to Agents and Brokers. They do not honor showing times. Pray N.Y.

Nice for NYCHA. Small buildings. Only about 2 stories. Doesn't go on for blocks and blocks . Never seen rats here .

I've been going to West 32nd Street beach for year's. Love it. Parks Dept. keeps beach nice and clean. Water's beautiful.

They just sprayed weed killer and poison into my yard to kill ivy but killed my 18 ft Japanese Maple and two other plants. Plus I have pets and young children in yard!

Their legal department email bounces back and mostly unresponsive.

The worst of them all.

You don’t know what a truly a horrible apartment management company is until you deal with these folks. Absolutely rude and never willing to help. Below is just one of the many situations we had with them.

There is no online payment and you have to pay be sending them checks/money orders. They once misplaced our check. When we asked if they could look for it they refused and requested a new check to be sent. I have been in their office and seen how disorganized they are so I am not surprised they lost the check. We then voided the check and sent them a new one. Of course they charged us the late fee. A couple of weeks later they found the missing check. They were told it was voided yet they tried to cash it. Guess what? They charged us bounced check fees. When I emailed them and asked to adjust our bill to remove the two fee charges they simply didn’t respond to my emails. You think you can elevate the issue to the upper management but you can’t. We asked if we could speak to someone up the ladder and they simply answered “No”.

We were, in fact, never in any situation permitted to speak with anyone except the secretaries. And that, by the way, included the super. We weren't permitted to call the super even when, in the dead of winter, the building's heat went out. When we contacted the office to have someone come out and work on the heating tank, we were told that this didn't qualify as an emergency. The temperature in our unit (as well as in others) was near freezing. Does that sound like "not an emergency"? And does that sound like the response of a dependable and humane apartment management company?

And believe me, it’s not just us: every other tenant we met was deeply unhappy with them. The management seems to be the prime reason people move out. Please avoid them at all costs!

One of the best housing development. Tell the mayor or the governor to visit this area of Brooklyn.

As someone else said - If I could give zero stars, I would. I have lived in NYC for nearly a decade and they are BY FAR the worst landlords ever. I should have trusted my gut before signing this lease. We are responsible, paying-on-time tenants and treat our apartment as if it is our own. Be prepared for lies, no responses, accusations that we are breaking everything, and taking months for anything to be fixed, if at all. I am happy to discuss further for anyone considering an apartment lease with New Start.

This management company is insane. In all my time apartment hunting I've never encountered a mgmt company that had such an intrusive and prolonged application process for a budget apartment. I met the 40x rent requirement, had credit around 700 and demonstrated a history of paying on time for the duration of contract on a similarly priced apartment. They took a week to review the application (delaying my search) and rejected me for "insufficient proof of income". Do not apply for this company's properties.

This place help alot

This management company is awful. Apartment on Sterling Place often has no hot water and water has been shut of completely without notice on a couple of occasions. When you call the office to report the problem you just get an attitude and no help whatsoever. Do your self a favor and do not live in one of their buildings! If I could give zero stars I would!

I was told the apartment would be renovated. But it was just patched up. The cabinets were filthy from previous tenant. Paint was applied over dirty surfaces. toilet was black, bedroom is VERY drafty, windows had 3 + years of soot. Bathroom is patched up in caulk. Caulk and grout was put on top of moldy dirty grout...so it fell off and peeled immediately. Thick caulk used to patch up every where. Roaches, Mice will be your housemates.
Administration and maintenace will give you the run around, and even lie to say you never put in a maitenance request in the first place. They will only come 9am to 5, and not even on that day. So you need to take 2 days off to sit and wait for someone to come, and not solve your problem.
The Real estate agents were nice, but that has nothing to do with the reality of living here. They are trying to gentrify this building so they treat all new and old tenants alike, like crap. oh and my favorite, like we are stupid.
there is lots of false advertising for this location. laundry is dirty, machines dont work well, and they will steal your money.
Whole building smells.
