Authentic Venetian cuisine. A small Italian tavern, a real treasure. Warm atmosphere, with impeccable and very friendly staff. We settled on the first courses, two spaghetti, one with seafood and one tagliatelle with ragu. The tiramisu at the end is divine. It was worth the test!!!

The best food i had in Venice, and I have been here more than 12 times! The tuna steak is amaizing, also the tiramisu.

We went here with a local friend and had amazing food at reasonable prices! The service I would rate 3.5/5 - as we were sat in the corner, we got overlooked quite a bit. The owner seems to have quite a temperament and the restaurant itself was extremely noisy, so do with that as you will.

Exceptional Venetian cuisine. The seafood carpaccio platter was particularly delicious. Reserve a table outside - it’s an excellent spot for lunch.

Delicious! My husband got the ink pasta and I got the clam pasta. And we shared the seafood plate. Really yummy and cosy. The tiramisu is probably the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my life and I ate A LOT of tiramisu in Italy

5 stars specially to the nice lady who served us. She has a great and positive attitude. Food is also delicious and the view is so pretty.

This restaurant is a little hidden gem. The food was delicious, fresh and authentic, and the staff was amazing. Everything was prepared and served with care. It was one of the best restaurants that we ate at on our trip to Italy.

Had a craving for pasta found this place on Find Me GF app. Dedicated GF menu with many choices! Ordered the tagliatelle with scallops and artichokes. Delicious!
Quaint little place that was a perfect escape from rain and friendly service.

A sweet little cafe with a vegan croissant and lovely espresso, perfect to snatch a quick breakfast.

A beautiful gem of a restaurant tucked away in a quiet back alley of Venice. Every dish was incredible; I wish I could've tried them all. The seafood tasted fresh, the pasta was cooked from fresh pasta to al dente perfection, and the desserts...I do not have the words to describe the desserts. We got the carpaccio, the crab pasta, the puttanesca pasta, and the pavlova; I'd get them all again. Even the free bread basket was amazing! We booked a few days in advance and could just squeeze in for lunch, so if you want to make a dinner out of it, get on it early.

What a wonderful meal! I knew Italy tend to be good with gluten free food but I had my own menu which was brought immediately on arrival after I flagged my requirement in the reservation. The staff were so helpful and super friendly. My meal of scallops and the GF cuttlefish pasta were very tasty and my aunt enjoyed her pumpkin gnocchi. I thought we had been undercharged which was amended and then we were undercharged even more. I have no idea what happened but I feel guilty if there was an error because it was a lovely evening. I would suggest pre-booking if during peek time - it was busy even on a Monday evening and it's a tiny place.

Food was very delicious but the service did not make me feel welcome.
The good:
The Aperol Spritz was a big portion.
Avocado and shrimp salad was delicious.
The black pasta with shrimp and tomatoes came out hot and the flavor of the tomatoes was very fresh. Pasta tasted fresh too. Very flavorful.
The bad:
I am a solo traveler and was recommended this location in a tour.
The restaurant was busy when I arrived at 8pm and I was asked to leave because it was full. I asked if I can wait and was told no. However, they were accommodating other groups of two people or more without a reservation. I suspected it's because I am a solo traveler that would take up a table that can seat two (not sure). While I was looking for another place to eat on my phone, a waiter told me they can make me a seat in 10 minutes. After 20 minutes, I was called in. It took a long time for the waiter to take my order. At this point it has been 50 minutes since arriving at the restaurant. Unfortunately all the appetizers or main dish I wanted to try were unavailable. So I only ordered one main dish. Then I was told that they have a two plate minimum, and the waiter recommended the two dishes that was the two most expensive items on the menu. Perhaps it was actually a genuine recommendation...but seemed strange to me in this circumstance. I hesitantly ordered a second dish.
I understand that the restaurant is busy but I felt like a nuisance to them due to the service. Would have been a 5 star review if the service was more accommodating and genuine.

All 4 of us agreed: Best meal we had in Venice over 4 nights. The wonderful Austrian couple sitting next to us also agreed. Everything was fabulous: the bread, the olive oil, the gnocchi, and the best Teramisu we’ve ever had. 5 stars!! Highly recommended!!

A very nice place with a lovely team, we went there twice and the snacks were fresh and tasty everytime 👍🏻

Vegan friendly bakery! Was amazing to have a soy milk cappuccino.
The owner was so sweet, when she heard we are vegan she offered to make us vegan sandwiches from her fresh croissants and veggies. Also has a few vegan options for pastries made from apple and jam.
The food and drinks here are very high quality :)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **A Vegan Haven in the Heart of the City!**
Finding vegan options can often feel like a daunting task, but our recent dining experience at Barcaro Pane e Vin was nothing short of miraculous. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. We mentioned our vegan preferences and as we saw no specific vegan options listed on the menu. However, this is where the magic began.
Thomas,, is an absolute vegan culinary wizard, went above and beyond by crafting a custom vegan sandwich that was nothing short of a masterpiece. This sandwich was a symphony of flavours, packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients that perfectly complemented each other. It was clear that a lot of thought and talent had gone into creating this delightful dish.
Every bite was an explosion of taste and texture, leaving us completely in awe. We were so impressed that we ordered another sandwich to go, eager to savor the flavors once more. The kindness and creativity of the chef truly made our dining experience unforgettable.
The dedication to accommodating our dietary needs and the sheer talent in creating such a delectable vegan dish off-menu is a testament to the exceptional service and culinary prowess at Bacaro Pane e Vine. We wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone, vegan or otherwise, looking for an extraordinary dining experience. This place is a must-visit, and we can't wait to return!

The most amazing vegan sandwich I've ever had. Amazing service, wasn't sure what I wanted and asked the chef to make something vegan, he delivered 1000%

This place charged 5 Euro per person for bread that was not requested. The assumption was the bread was a part of the meal. They did not understand why my pregnant wife did not want a wine and asked multiple time if she wanted a drink. This was after we ordered a still water for her. Another fun part is they didn't even cook the alcohol out of the pasta we ordered. We did say she was pregnant multiple times and pointed to her belly.

Guido and Diego treated us amazingly. It is an incredible restaurant with authentic local dishes and high quality food. The Moncenigo Antipasto was enough as a whole meal, and an excelent way to try a little bit of different kinds of local fish and seafood direclty from the Lagoon. Paired with the White wine from the house. I highly reccomend and would go back!

This is truly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Italy. Everything is fantastic. Do not skip the octopus. Saw two gondoliers eating here so you know it’s legit.

We had a table for 6 in the far corner of this rustic spot, which was perfect for our rowdy group. Thoroughly enjoyed the pasta with onions and anchovies, the seafood sampler (both the anti-pasti and the secondi versions), the capesante (with the roe, which we rarely see in the US), and the seemingly bottomless bottles of ripasso and Pinot Bianca. We had a fun conversation with our lively host, Marco, who gave us the dirt on the restaurant’s Wall of Fame (most of the photos featured the place’s former owner, who has gone to that Great Osteria in the Sky).

I only go here if I’m travelling alone for lunch dinner. Place is popular so quite hard to get a table. But food is amazing. The old recipe frutti di mare is my go to dish. Desert is also always changing and my personal favorite has been the cheese cake with fruits which this time they did not have. I had merengue with berries in stead.

This was an exceptional meal, in every aspect. My husband and I felt confident it would be a lovely experience given it was so highly recommended by the woman who owns the B&B in Venice we love so much, and she is a local from here, born and raised.
To start, it’s far from the madding crowd. Already a plus, even though we too are tourists from the US. It is across the Rialto Bridge from St Marks Square, and from there a circuitous route. Hard to find without Google Maps, again a great thing!
The atmosphere was glorious, warm, eclectic, and only about 20 tables….. We left our meal to the very knowledgeable host, who steered us beautifully. With wine pairing for each course.
To start we had a carpaccio of three different types of fish, one tuna and the other two white fish — with spicy wasabi and a gorgeous creamy dill sauce to pair. As a second we had a swordfish pasta that was lights out yummy, finished with a grilled sea bass with a tomato coulis, capers & roasted tomatoes (to be clear, we did say we wanted all seafood for our meal as it was a late lunch at 2:00 and we didn’t want to be over-full).
I give this whole experience a four thumbs up (both my husband’s and my thumbs!) you will be glad you experienced this lovely taste of Venice and we won’t miss it next time.
**note: do make reservations. Tables are limited and they fill up as they are very popular with locals!

The best tiramisu I’ve ever had 🙌🏼
Main courses were also very nice and flavoursome! Best food in Venice 🙏🏼

A quaint old school spot that has proven its excellence with years of history behind it. Many staple dishes that thrive here: the fish carpaccio that comes in great portion, the grilled octopus has the perfect texture and taste, and the spider crab tagliatelle was simply delicious.

This is a great place for a delicious meal. We went here when they opened for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
We ate a salad; veal; pasta; steak and tiramisu as well as wine for about $100 euros which is incredibly inexpensive in my opinion.
Service was lovely, kind and did not rush us at all.

Hidden away, family owned, and they like it that way. This restaurant has been here for over 40 years serving excellent food and providing visitors and locals what I consider to be the perfect venetian dining experience. Navigating through some very narrow "streets", and feeling like we were lost a few times...turn a corner and there it is. They offer a small menu focused on fresh seafood with a few daily specials. The amuse bouche kicked off the meal prior to the generously portioned antipasti (split one if you have small appetites). We enjoyed the traditional antipasto sampler and the grilled octopus. Each could have been an entree. Followed up with pasta with spider crab and the daily special john dory. The server was friendly and efficient, speaking perfect English handling multiple tables easily - experience shows, and we appreciated her. Make reservations to ensure a table as we were dining on a Tuesday evening in late May and the restaurant was fully booked and turned away walk-in groups.
Ps. The whimsical restaurant logo delighted us - see water bottle photo.

We had a fine but not fabulous dinner here. Service was good but our server was a bit condescending. This restaurant came highly recommended by our amazing tour guide. We had the cuttlefish and polenta, pappardelle with veal bolognese, and a side of asparagus. We also had the tiramisu which was prepared in the classic Venetian style which was delicious. If you are looking for something comfortable this would be a good choice.

Great view of canal, outdoor seating, loved the cappuccinos, had the lasagne. Good spot near central location.

First meal in Venice! I had read a lot of good reviews so I decided we should give it a try!
We shared starters of octopus and soft shell crab. Both were excellent, in particular the soft shell crab dish!
For mains, I had the spider crab tagliolini whereas my hubby had the calf's liver with polenta. He really enjoyed his - portion was generous and even though I am not usually a fan of liver, I have to admit it was quite tasty. However, I was slightly disappointed with the pasta as it was a bit on the bland side and slightly soggy, in my opinion. I think it was mainly because I had very high expectations for it!
Finally we had dessert of gianduia (tasted like an extra chocolatey Nutella) ice cream and the dessert of the day - a custard tart with strawberries and vanilla cream. Both were a hit with us - tasty in their own way. The gianduia was very decadent!
Service was decent considering how busy the restaurant was. Staff were attentive and friendly. Prices are on the high side (about 80 euros each, excluding drinks) but it is meant to be a more upmarket place.
All in all, a good start to our long weekend in Venice! Time to walkabout and attempt to burn some of this off!

We visited Mocenigo in Venice and were thoroughly impressed with our experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and despite the restaurant always being full, the host always managed to find a table for us – my friend, my teenage son, and me.
We appreciated that even when there was a short wait, they always accommodated us comfortably. The food was genuine and delicious, offering a perfect balance of quality and price, with a wide selection of local dishes to choose from.
A special mention goes to the waitress who greeted us with a smile and served us attentively throughout our meal. Her sunny disposition and friendliness added to the enjoyment of our visit.
We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking delicious food and a warm welcome. A big thank you to the entire team at Mocenigo for their hospitality.

Beautiful place, lovely staff and stunning food. Went there for breakfast three days in a row and loved it! The brioches are the tastiest thing ever and the small pastries ❤️. Really nice coffee and tea, also the savory food, pizza, balls... Best spot in Venice to relax take a cup of tea and start your day.
100% recommended, you won't be disappointed 😊
